Neat spot! And what’s even cooler are their awesome mugs. Will have to stop in again when I’m in Redmond.

Good coffee, but the ambiance is lacking. Due to the abundance of hard surfaces it isn’t «cozy,» and instead quite loud. I’m also not fond of the mustard green walls by the restroom. A bit of a letdown for this upscale neighborhood. I probably won’t be back.

I come in here time to time on the way back from college, usually to get the mango granita they serve. Good drink that accommodates well to the nice sunny weather we have been having. Coffee here is very very good, as well as the scones they serve. Interesting location & set up as well. Way better than the starbucks/tulleys joints if you ask me. Will always come back here!

I LOVE this little coffee shop. Its on my commute from day job to afternoon job, and I love stopping in here. The staff is impeccably professional and friendly while still having personalities and they make a good drink. Coffee is Sleepy Monk, which while good isn’t my favorite espresso. They do have my favorite breakfast sandwiches and a variety of pastry options(including gluten-free) to choose from. The space is clean, open, and industrial. Its not too loud or cold though– I’ve happily opened up my computer and worked without needing to put headphones in. Can’t wait for summer when they roll the doors open!

This is a cute little place with nice staff, mediocre coffee, and inadequate wifi. If you want to sit and read a book or write in a journal and sip a latte, it’s a great place. If you want to work and sip an americano, you’d do better to try someplace else.

This is the perfect neighborhood coffee shop. Great coffee roasted by Sleepy Monk in Cannon Beach, OR. Always friendly service. Local ownership. Nice little selection of snacks. And a plenty comfy space for chatting, working, etc. My whole family enjoys coming here.

As somebody who frequents coffee shops often, I am usually always looking for a neat new spot to set up shop and do some work(I’m a writer). Down Pour has a friendly staff, yummy grilled sandwiches, and a variety of sweet-tooth lover options. The coffee gets a 4.5 out of 5 — but I can be a pretty tough coffee critic. The simple style and ambiance is very comfortable — I will come back here again. :-)

I was minding my own business when Steve the owner suddenly and curtly tells me I have to unplug my laptop because it was a «tripping hazard.» It was packed and there were no other tables I could move to. Now I WAS going to unplug my laptop but I had to power it off first since I have no battery in it. BEFORE I EVENHADTHECHANCETODOANYTHINGSTEVEJUSTPULLSTHEPLUGANDTHENTELLSME I HAVETOLEAVE. WHATTHEHELL! Of course I was upset he just pulled the plug like that! I had no battery in the computer and it totally damaged it, just suddenly powering off in the middle of my work! If I was working on something important all my data would’ve been lost! I expressed my anger at his outrageous behavior and he threatened to call the police. He was rude from the very beginning, just the way he told me to unplug the computer. He didn’t ask nicely or give me any time to react like a reasonable person would. I told him he was being unreasonable and rude but he just threatened to call the police and told me to leave. He was extremely disrespectful and aggressive from the very beginning to the end.

Absolutely love this coffee shop and come here an average of 3 times a week(almost since they opened). Wonderful service, coffee, and treats. The staff will remember your drink almost immediately upon becoming a customer and that’s very nice. Variety of seating — tables, high counter, chair & couch which make it great depending on whether you are relaxing or working. Wonderfully maintained and decorated and what a pretty view it has of the open area across the street, which occasionally has horses roaming about. Beautiful! Big windows are such a bonus. Just a great coffee shop and am so happy to have found it!

Sparse coffee shop with extremely limited pastries. A very minimalist concept. The ladies behind the counter were friendly but didn’t talk much, the service was.. . Paced. If you’re in the area it beats chain stores, but not true coffee shops like Vivace or Blue Bottle.

Downpour is my favorite coffee shop by far. The coffee is excellent and the people are terrific. They use Sleepy monk coffee which is hard to find and makes a delicious drink. I like their macchiato and cappuccino but often settle for a latte. They have food too, and a comfortable space where you can stay a while. Great place.

Not super impressed. Came for a good cup of coffee and to study. There was a hair in my coffee and the latte art was very mediocre. The wifi was very weak and kept going in and out. Cobwebs on some of ceiling pipes. Limited seating. The seating they did have, the chairs were very worn down looking. The coffee tasted alright and the ladies at the counter were friendly. Has a lot of great potential but could use a face lift.

I’ve been coming to Down Pour on my way to work for a few weeks now, and I’m in love with the coffee. I’d previously had Sleepy Monk coffee in Cannon Beach(Oregon) and was in coffee heaven, so I’m super stoked that there’s a shop serving Sleepy Monk not 3 miles from my apartment. If you’re a fan of Stumptown roasts, you’ll like Sleepy Monk. I don’t know the«proper» coffee terms to describe the flavor, but I would say it has the same kind of smooth character. Since I only stop in on my way to work, I can’t say much for the ambiance or how good this place is for studying/meeting with people. That said, the seating always seems to be full, so I take it they have good wifi and comfy chairs. Bonus: they have outdoor seating for sunny days, and one of the walls opens like a garage door so the people sitting inside can get fresh air too. The service is excellent; the staff is really friendly and laid back. So, why four stars and not five? The food. Another reviewer mentioned that they have a great selection; I’m honestly not sure when that person came, because when I go in the morning, the pastry case is nearly empty and there are 1 – 2 breakfast sandwiches to choose from. Most of the food, besides the donuts, seems to come from Little Rae’s Bakery. For me, that’s big minus. I really dislike the slimy texture of the egg in Little Rae’s breakfast sandwiches, and they have the most bizarrely-flavored pastries(frosted peach passionfruit scone, anyone? Blech…). And, since I’m one of those weirdos that doesn’t want a frosting-encrusted, sugar-loaded donut for breakfast, that leaves me quite bereft of food options. I wish that they had better food options to go with their fantastic coffee. Fingers crossed that the food situation changes!

Always good coffee, always delicious breakfast sandwiches, and the oh-so-amazing Mighty O donuts really do it for me. I come here whenever I can. It’s a charming space and the people who run it are super nice. My family loves being gifted bags of Sleepy Monk beans, too. Thank you for providing a good variety of dairy options as well!

Great coffee shop, with great tasting coffee! The interior is really delightful, feels very industrial(it has a really cool garage door!). Staff were very friendly, and it was pretty busy with people in and out while I was sitting there. Will definitely be back to taste some of their food items, since they seemed pretty low on food by the time I got there in late afternoon. Would recommend for sure!

Ode To Down Pour Coffee: I walk into the room, but I don’t notice you at first. You sit there patiently waiting. Your exotic scent gently caresses my nose. I turn and spot you; a smile crosses my face. I take a tentative step towards you. You don’t object; my confidence grows with each step I take towards you as I move through the crowd. As I look at you, my thirst grows. Damn, you’re hot! Gently I pick you up and press my lips against you. You don’t object as I take you away from the crowd. When we’re done, I let out a satisfied sigh. I think I love you. Where have you been all my life soy chai(from Down Pour Coffee)?

I’ve driven past so many times, drawn to the garage-door entrance and comfy looking lounge chairs in the front. Today was the day go try it out! They have an ample variety of seating: in the shade, in the sun, outside, inside, bar chairs, comfy chairs… they thought of it all and made it work so well together. The deli/food selection is great, I tried the Rhubarb Yogurt with granola(in the fridge)…SOOGOOD. I also ordered an espresso with a cup on the side for soda water. I don’t think anyone has every ordered espresso this way from her because she acted surprised and didn’t know how much to give me. Oh well! The cups that the coffee is served in are so cute and homey! You’ll want to stay here all day, the ladies working are super nice.

I bring my little ones here with me for lunch and a treat sometimes. We enjoy the sandwich and wrap options as well as the Mighty O doughnuts. My son always wants to sit in the orange Adirondack chairs before and after he eats at the little children’s table. Both the espresso and fruit granitas are DELICIOUS! Really appreciate this close spot with great food and drink offerings.

A most excellent coffee place. If I lived in the neighbourhood I’d be a regular. We came here after an early morning errand at the DMV(which surprisingly was a pleasant enough affair). I had the latte and the coffee was very good. The wife got a chai which she liked. We sat at a table, read the newspaper and shared a muffin. I left Downpour, content, at peace with the world which in my book is about the best a coffee shop can do!

I’m a coffee snob. I lived in Italy for several months and those guys taught me what good coffee really is. Today, I spend more on coffee than a sane human being should spend on food. This place is amazing. Espresso macchiato, my go-to-drink, is a solid A+ here every time. Cute for-here cups, friendly owner, lots of light. If there’s one thing I’d ask for: more savory food options.

I live very close and being a coffee lover, thought it necessary to drop in and try them out. Wowza!!! What a pleasant surprise!!! The Latte was ‘knock your socks off’ delicious! This Latte at Down Pour was strong and rich WITHOUT even a hint of bitterness or burnt after taste, Now, that’s a pretty rare treat! Strong and Rich without the burnt and/or bitterness! Not only was the drink delicious, it was lovely to look at with pour art swirl… Though this is a hit and miss serendipitous delight of course. They hit me right between the eyes. Needless to say, I won’t be visiting the local major coffee chain often going forward, even though I’m a huge jazz fan. Down Pour staff were very pleasant and genuinely appreciative of my compliments. Wooden lounge chairs are comfortable even if they don’t look like they’d be… When the afternoon sun is hitting, it’s a pleasure to soak it up while enjoying a truely superior coffee drink! Don’t take my low review count as evidence of insider promotion. I’m the real deal and am only writing this because I think that superior service and products deserve recognization! And, I want them to succeed so I’ll be able to continue to enjoy their tasty caffeine fixes right in my neighborhood… Selfish motives indeed ;-)

I was excited to find another non-chain coffee shop on the Eastside, but I don’t think this one will join the favorites list unless future visits prove me wrong. The space is lovely, with lots of light and seating and it feels like the kind of place you’d come to get out of the house and work or read for a couple hours. The coffee though — not up to par, in my opinion. I ordered a macchiato, which is my go-to drink at any new place, and was totally overwhelmed by the bitterness. Not well-balanced at all. I’m willing to give it another try since so many other reviews rave about the Sleeping Monk beans, but I’m thinking that this place is targeted more towards coffee drinkers who like their drinks with flavor syrups and lots of sugar, which would definitely mask the overly bitter espresso. Service was very friendly and it did feel like a local place for sure.

LOVE.LOVE.LOVE. I am a big supporter of local coffee shops where ever I go. Down Pour Coffee Bar is a cute little place that is down the street from my sister’s place with a friendly staff. Dog friendly(which is a plus), carrying local coffee(Sleeping Monk Coffee Roasters), the atmosphere was great. Did I mention the lounge chairs are a plus? Because it is.

I decided to try this café right across from my chiropractor’s office especially for all of my café-loving( Unilocal) friends. The inside of the café is cute, warm, and inviting. I loved how cut-out clouds were«floating» in the sky. The ladies were friendly and all smiles. I am not a coffee drinker, so I ordered an 8oz Chai. They seem to serve a brand called Scottish Chai(I think) mixed with milk. I did go for the good stuff(meaning whole milk), but oh boy, the Chai tea was super creamy, sweet but not too sweet, and delicately spicy. I sprinkled some chocolate over my Chai, put a lid on the cup, and basically chugged it down even before I got back into my car. If you are hungry, they also sell packaged sandwiches, salads, individual-sized cheesecake, and baked goods(including donuts).

Ever since Jitters coffee closed down(I miss Jitters so much :(), there has been the need for a nice, local coffee hang out spot. Enter Down Pour Coffee Bar, this place is exactly that! Cute little tables and chairs accessorized with some quaint, antique-y shelves and cabinets make up most of the interior. And there are a couple of deck chairs on the patio outside, perfect for spending a sunny summer morning on. The place makes me want to settle down with a book or computer while sipping on a hot, steaming cup of coffee. Speaking of coffee… My boyfriend and I had two of the holiday favourites — an eggnog latte and a peppermint bark latte and both were absolute successes! And when I asked for a double shot for my 12oz coffee, the super nice owner said«well of course, we auto add a second shot»!

It could be that the neighborhood has really needed its own coffee hangout — one that isn’t Starbucks. It could be the comfortable vibe, and pleasant, open space with lots of seating and big windows to let the light in. It could be the pleasant, unpretentious staff. Or maybe it has something to do with finding Sleepy Monk coffee in this place. The good stuff. Heck, the BEST stuff. For all of these reasons, and probably more, this is such a welcome addition to the neighborhood — a true local find, a great place to meet a friend or just take a break.

I was all set to dislike this place(location, I suppose) and was giving serious side eye to the first couple reviews here in Unilocal(1st time reviewers who give 5 stars to a place, hmm…) But then a friend told me they brew Sleepy Monk and I realized I had to give it a try immediately. Now, when I say location was a «no» factor for me, I suppose I’m thinking«Former Blockbuster» and«Bridle Trails»(sorry, but true.) HOWEVER, now that I know they brew Sleepy Monk, location is a huge plus. I was always peeved that the only coffee shop I have near enough to walk to is Starbucks.(No. Just NO.) And yet… Also a bad thing because I can walk here… And I was trying to cut back on my latte and overall coffee consumption. Whoops. So much for that. *Shakes fist* Damn you, Downpour, for being so much better than I pegged you for! So yeah — good coffee, yes. Great atmosphere. The interior was so much cuter and nicer than I expected. It wasn’t too hipster-cool for school. It just had a very homey and local feel to it — I can see this easily becoming the local joint that so many of us Bridle Trail-ers have been wanting & needing. I may take up walking around my ‘hood again. Decent variety of pastries and treats, too. The woman who worked there(I’m assuming the owner) was really nice. I hope this place thrives — again, my fellow Bridle Trail inhabitants, all we had previously was Starbucks… UUUUUUUGH. Ditch the ‘bucks. Go local. Go better than Starbucks.
