Like many breweries, Wildcard is located in an easily accessible industrial zone. We went there right at 2 when they open but there doors were still locked. This gave us a chance to check out a really cool garden and hydroponic shop across the street for a few minutes. When we came back Wildcard had opened and we tried their IPA and Porter. I really liked their beers, felt like the ambiance was lacking, but I’d definitely recommend stopping in for a drink.

Good beers and friendly staff here! They have a fairly small taproom with a nice outdoor patio area. Only reason I gave them 4 stars is that I wished they had a larger selection of beers on tap.

Worth the detour off Highway 5. Just stopped here on our way to a mountain bike race in Weaverville. We had our dog with us, so it was great they had outdoor seating with a dog bowl for water because it was hot! Great beer. Quite a few varieties. Nice people, friendly environment. Picked up a growler and a pint glass. Super cheap to fill up a growler, something. Like ten bucks. No food but bring your own, they don’t care at all. They welcome it. What else can I say, my girlfriend and I recommend it.

Awesome service! Great beer! Friendly staff! Was stranded while getting my car repaired and I am not from around the area. Stopped by Wildcard Brewery to kill some time and I must say this place is a hidden gem. Try the Liars Dice IPA! Thanks so much you guys!

Wildcard was a nice surprise for Redding, a departure from the masses of chain restaurants and stores. Wildcard is a small establishment with indoor and outdoor seating. We sat at the bar and had a nice conversation with the friendly bartender. We ordered a flight and a half pint and we’re not disappointed! The beers were great, and we left with two 22s of our favorites. Definitely a place to check out if you are in the area.

Great place to join friends at the end of the work week and enjoy some locally brewed delicious beer. On Friday evenings the local food trucks arrive so you can get a taco to go with your cold brew.

Good job Wildcard! The beer here is great! At first I was not a big fan of the beer, except Shot In the dark… That one has always been good. But somewhere in the past year the beer has improved A LOT. Don’t pass this tap house up if you’re driving through it is totally worth it. I hope they keep climbing on the ladder of success, this brewery deserves it.

Stopped in to the Wildcard tasting room on a recent trip back to Redding, and I can’t help but feel proud that my hometown can turn out a brewery like this. We ordered a flight of everything and nothing disappointed. Personal favorites of mine were the Liar’s Dice IPA and the Double Down Red. When bottles of those make it down to SoCal I’ll be one of the first in line. I really try not to be a beer snob, but I moved down to San Diego at the height of craft beer culture, and beer snobbery is like an epidemic down there. I’m happy to say that I didn’t have to pretend to like any of the drafts at Wildcard — these are top-notch craft brews from a place that seems to know exactly what they are doing. Their tasting room was appropriately industrial looking, with tables big enough for you and a small to medium sized crew, but they’ll probably need to add some seating space if they get any more popular. Which they really should. It will be an injustice if this place doesn’t take off. Let’s make it happen, Redding!

Thought my navigation was going crazy. Was taking me down some dark streets. Came in day after their anniversary party. They were out of some of their beers but still had a pretty big lineup.

Out in BFE of Redding in an industrial area, like so many other craft breweries. They were 25 minutes from closing and the girl working had started to clean, because it was completely deserted. She was very nice and didn’t make us feel guilty for coming in so close to closing. Because she was cleaning, the whole place reeked of cleaning products and it gave us both headaches; saved by the patio! Overall, their beer selection isn’t SUPER diverse, but the Shot in the Dark and the Double Down Red were both quite tasty. Free pretzels and/or peanuts!

Mmmmmm Double down red ale! I’m in love! Perfect size for a brewery ! Ample outside seating! $ 10 to fill my growler! I tried all of the beers! Loved the double down red ale and shot in the dark the most!

GREAT place !!! I can’t make it in time for Friday food truck evening, but today a mid day stop was in order. Still great !!! more great brew creations, and as always. Awesome staff !!! Sunny is a total joy, she is a true wise-ass, I like that a lot. 20OZ $ 5 «Pint“s. Growler fills are only $ 10, that’s super fair tap house pricing !!! Wi-Fi is 20 plus megs !!! I had some high bandwidth needs this morning, and Starbucks was a disaster. You can not go wrong with a stop here, I got in a few times late 2012 when they opened, and they are stronger than ever !!! Great Job !!! I would not change a thing. They accomplish exactly what they set out to, and they do it well !! –add on– They actually manage to get a good carbonation in their beer. I get kinda irritated with breweries that, for a variety of reasons, serve flat beer that reminds me of yesterdays keg party leftovers… You can have great taste, but if it’s flat, it’s not doing either of us any good.

The go for broke a double IPAWASGREAT. They fill their growers. I have rated this place before and came back because I liked it. Their service is good there beer is great and if you go on a Friday there’s usually a food cart out in front so you can grab a beer and have lunch or dinner at a pretty good rate.

Awesome hidden gem in an industrial section of Redding, CA. Great beers, I enjoyed their taster tray of 4 beers for 6 bucks. Place is a little small inside, but added bonus for having a dart board, board games, and bean bag toss games inside. Great place to grab a beer if you’re passing through on Route 5. Neat place worthy of 4 stars from Hit and Travel.

Laid back, friendly atmosphere, delicious, creative flavors. I am very impressed with the quality of their product. I can’t wait until the company expands so I can get their brews closer to me in Sac!

The start of my birthday week vacation started off with a BANG on our way from The Bay Area towards Portland. Wildcard Brewing popped up on the Unilocal app while visiting my mom in Redding. Thankfully my babygirl indulged me with a much needed stop here before visiting my mom. Knowing this part of Norcal, I really wasn’t expecting much from this place despite the 4.5 overall rating from 14 reviews. Being from Anderson, I’m sure most locals would rate a meth lab 5 stars, so I wasn’t holding my breathe. I was so pleasantly surprised to discover that this awesome new brewery is everything I WASN’T expecting. I was blown away with how great everything was. From the beer itself, the labeling and professional design of the logos, to the lone bartender working, everything was above and beyond expectations. They had a food truck out front, cornhole was available for your bean bag tossing pleasure, as well as darts in another room. Wildcard seems to have packed a whole heck of a lot of fun into this industrial park area location. Pretty much every beer I tasted was phenomenal. Perhaps that’s why I scored a perfect 6 out of 6 on our taste testing game. Either that or their beers were all vastly different while being as equally well made. The standouts for me were their Double Down Imperial Red Ale and the Shot in The Dark Porter. The Double Down scored big points from me and may just have been the best beer I had during our entire trip which included over 10 craft breweries in Portland. Yeah, who would have thunk it? Some of the best beer you’ll ever taste is located in podunk ol’ Redding. I guess this place is movin’ on up in the world. I don’t think I’ve ever made the following statement in my life, «I can’t wait to come back to Redding», in particular to try more of Wildcard’s tasty new brews. Oh, and of course to visit mama… Thank you my love. I’m happy you enjoyed it too…

REDDINGREVIEW #1 Who would have guessed Redding had a brewery that has flights… yes flights. You know I love them! The flight contains 6 sample drinks but only 4 comes on a paddle and they give you 2 additional glasses since they have 6 beers on tap. It cost us $ 13.98 for the flight and one pint of beer. In order of preference by my honey: Double Down(Imperial Red Ale) Shot in the Dark(Porter) Liar’s Dice(IPA) Go for Broke(Double IPA) Ace Up the Sleeve(Wheat Ale) Suicide Jack(Cream Ale) The bartender(Jessica) is super nice and brought our flight to our table. When I ordered the pint, she asked if I wanted to split it into two half pints to share. Which I thought was really nice of her. They also sell Growlers, tshirts, sweaters, hats & glasses for purchase. Growlers are $ 8 for the container and $ 10 for refill. You can choose any beer on tap. On Wednesday it’s $ 7 to fill. They also have a Growelette! How cool is that 32 ounces of beer versus a 64 ounce. On Friday and Sat a food truck is parked in front of the brewery. Once you order they will bring the food to you. This isn’t all! Get this is you have kids bring them with you because they have a separate area away from the bar on the other side of a glass door for them to play Cornhole. How awesome is that. You can have your beer while the chitlins are playing. Win Win! My honey’s review and why he thought this place deserves 5 star too and he grew up near Redding and LOVES beer so that speaks a lot!

Cool little place to visit. I was making my way back to Portland, and decided I needed a little«brew break». Wildcard is located in a business park, and can probably seat 20 peeps at the most… but I liked that. Service was great. The beers were awesome… I loved their double IPA. And I’m a sucker for good graphic design, their’s is top notch… good looking brand! If I’m ever back in the Redding, I’ll be stopping for sure!

Redding’s beer lovers have long suffered the humiliation of being the only sizable city in California without a microbrewery or brewpub. Seriously, it’s been embarrassing. The Kennett-Diamond Brewery didn’t last long, the victim of its own mismanagement(good food and beer; awful service) and Redding’s «we likes us some franchises» tastes in dining. K-D’s failure must have scared others off. But our long and painful wait is over, because a nice local boy who met his lovely bride at Cal Poly SLO has brought her back to Redding, their toddler daughter in tow, and they’re giving us another chance to support a craft brewery. They’ve opened up their microbrewery and tasting room in a business park out off of Old Oregon Trail, and they’re currently pouring four beers: A cream ale, a wheat beer, an IPA, and a stout. All are excellent — the two lighter beers are so good that they may succeed in partially retraining my palate to once again enjoy lighter beers(but probably not until summer). My heart belongs to the heartier stuff, and I’ll be back Wednesday when they roll out their imperial red ale. We’ll have drained the growler of IPA we brought home by then and be ready for a refill. And, there’s this: They hit a home run with their graphics, so their swag is also damned good. We bought four nice pint glasses with their«Suicide Jack» logo, a hoodie, and a T-shirt. I’ll be buying a Liar’s Dice IPA or Double Imperial Down Red T-Shirt when they come out. The Double Down graphic features a cowboy on a wagon driving a team of horses, throwing up mud as they corner hard, his shotgun raised, looking back at a Model A Ford chasing him. For a cool you-supply-the-story-behind-the-picture graphic, that’s hard to beat. Sweet Cheezus. Finally. Let’s not eff this up, Reddingites.
