You came here some weeks ago for the a21 Walk and was a bit hungry after the walk with some of your comrades in arms. Wienerschnitzel is our chosen spot. I ordered just the chili cheese fries and I must say it’s not bad. First food in Redding.

The customer service is fabulous and the people are always smiling. No one likes a grumpy ice cream cone.

First of all der Wienerschnitzel is one of my favorite fast food restaurants. The staff is always courteous and helpful. the food is consistent. After seeing an advertisement on TV for $ 0.99 chili dog with the address of the der Wienerschnitzel on Market Street I went in to avail myself of this bargain and was told that the local store was not honoring the advertisement. I think management should make it clear with corporate whether or not they’re going to honor their onTV ads. I’m assuming that these are co-op ads and management should know about content of ads.

Redding’s Wienerschnitzel robed me for five dollars. I purchased their fish and chips and it was horrible. They need to just stick with what they do best!

Every now and then I get a craving for a good hot dog. While I’ve found the chili cheese dogs to be a bit too much on the salty side for me, I am impressed with their Angus beef hot dog menu. Out of the ones I’ve tried so far, it’s tough to choose a favorite from among these: — Chicago Dog — Bleu Cheese & Bacon — Angus Pastrami Dog on a Pretzel Bun. The Pretzel Bun is, by the way, an INGENIOUS alternative to the plain hot dog bun. You have to try it. I LOVED it! Wish these were available at our grocery stores! FYI: As another reviewer mentioned, this place sometimes has a few loiterers around the entrance but the employees here do go out of there way to keep customers from being harassed for money.

Sometimes I just gotta have some chili cheese dogs… The location invites proximity to some rather… er…colorful individuals, so I usually case the joint before stopping. Don’t limit yourself to just dogs though, their burgers are pretty good also.

Great place for a chilli dog and chilli cheese fries! Down side is the constant tweekers and drunks panhandling in the place. Or the dude screaming about his roommate stealing his mail. Food is good but the entertainment is even more colorful.

Great place to grab a cheap hot dog. The cost is very reasonable considering the same type of hot dog seems to go for double the cost on the East Coast.

Cheap, easy, quick. However, I like EVERYTHING on a hotdog, but the one they sell with EVERYTHING isn’t worth the extra 50 cents. Go for the relish dog, scrape off some of the relish, and you’ll be okay. Their polish dogs are good, if you’re in the mood. My hubby likes chili dogs, so it’s a quick happy-fix for him. It’s right at the corner of Highway 273 and Highway 299, so it’s right where we first get to Redding, or where we last leave Redding(well, except for Carl’s Jr and a few other miscellaneous spots west on 299), so it’s an easy stop, if you know how to go around the block to handle the traffic. My daughter always wants us to take her out to a ‘sit-down’ restaraunt(read: Olive Garden), so next time, I’m inviting her to meet us here!

So I went here for the first time, craving a hot dog with all the goodies. But when I got my food it was so GROSS that I couldn’t even eat it! I will never go here again!

«I’ve never ever been to a Wienerschnitzel before.» Everytime i would say that to someone, their jaws would drop and they would look at me almost like i had just told them my parents had both died when i was young leaving me to be raised ferally by a pack of wolves in the Siberian wilderness. Demon Robot Wolves, even.(with lasers) Its part of the deprived life we lead on the east coast. No Wienerschnitzels… …this has been a personal journey 26 years in the making. On Christmas Morning 2007, I left the house a girl, and came back a woman. A woman who’s relationship with chilli now knows no boundaries. I now understand that anything is possible(with chilli). If they would have let me put chilli on a vanilla hot fudge sundae i would have. Actually they probably wouldnt have stopped me. I just didnt think of this idea until hours later. And just in case the chilli cheese fries, chilli cheeseburgers and chilli dogs weren’t enough, i also decided to try the pastrami-topped dog.(my body must absolutely hate me… i’m so sorry). God, its not like i needed it, but i just love pastrami so much that i couldnt possibly walk out of there without having a just a quick liaison with my favorite of the salted cured meats. The pastrami on its own was more like undercooked bacon than real pastrami, but once you put it on top of a hot dog along with a pickle(!). well you show me a better way to spend Christmas Day and I owe you a chilli cheese hot fudge sundae.
