Love the Phở and shrimp spring rolls. Friendly staff. Fast service. Decent prices would like them to be open later on summer nights.

Food is delicious, asked for a vegetarian sub on the papaya salad and was accommodated cheerfully. Busy café atmosphere, friendly staff. Recommended.

Delicious! Despite its location next to Macy’s, etc. this Thai spot was packed on the Friday night we came through Redding. Folks were friendly and the server was hilarious. We recommend the pottery shrimp with glass noodles. YUM.

The food is always fresh and served hot, flavors are bright and intense and the service staff are very accommodating and friendly. This place is a gem, and really compares to none other in Redding, as the food is varied and delicious. Price matches the quality of the food, we are lucky to have this restaurant in our town!

Bay Arean, here. I’ve been to the Champa Garden in Oakland, and the food at this Redding location is comparable. And three cheers for Redding prices. $ 8 for a large bowl of noodles?! Pssch, you get a toenail for that price in SF.(erm, slight exaggeration) I got the #29 Kaow Poont. Love me some curry spice with coconut milk, noodles, and the works. We also split the Champa Sampler(for $ 13, you get laos sausage, fried rice ball salad, and fried egg rolls). I really like the sausage and fried rice ball salad– for it’s uniqueness. The other people in my group weren’t too keen on these items though. No haterade– different strokes for different folks. They mostly enjoyed their dishes too(duck curry, seafood stir fry, etc.). Though I probably enjoyed this place the most out of our group. I was surprised to find a good Asian food option in the middle of nowhere– wuddup Redding! And I appreciate Champa Garden’s customer service. We came on a Saturday night at 9:30pm, and this place was packed. They usually close at 9/10pm, but they stayed later to serve all the customers. Even though it was a long day for the servers, they were still helpful.

This place has great food however I just had the most disappointing experience with their service. Their posted hours are 11 am to 9 pm and we walked in at 3:50 in the afternoon. There were at least 20 people at tables eating and waiting for food however they told us we couldn’t order anything until 5, when they«opened» again. What is it woth businesses that advertise they’re open, the doors are unlocked, there is clearly people eating and be waited on, but they couldn’t grab one order of pad thai to go??? Very disappointed because this was my favorite thai good in redding until today and now I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

I am Thai. Highly recommended, especially as I am from LA where the THAITOWN is the standard! I really loved this restaurant as it had authentic thai dishes as well as Lao dishes and some hybrid variations. They really make an authentic papaya salad(I would know) but also add some unique variations, like giving rice noodles alongside the papaya salad. I also had a Thai fried rice which was excellent!

I’ve been to Redding several times for work and was looking for a good Thai place. After looking at places on Unilocal,I decided to check out Champa. I’ve had the Phở with Tofu, Panang Curry, Green Curry, Green Curry with Salmon, Avocado Spring Rolls, Shrimp Rangoons and the Fried Banana with Coconut Ice Cream –All of them were delicious. My favorites are the Green Curry with a side of rice and the Shrimp Rangoons with a Thai Tea. Their staff is very friendly and the food comes out pretty quickly. My only complaint is that you have to pay something like $ 3 for rice with your curry, and to add mushrooms was another $ 2. Other than that, I love this place. I’ve been here twice in one day, more than once.

This place is BOMBDIGGITY! We were in Redding area for fishing and really wanted some authentic Asian food. We stumbled upon this place through my trusty Unilocal App! :) First thing that definitely made me want to come here was their sampler platter. I really wanted some Nam Khao and this place had one of the best Nam Khao’s I’ve ever had! In addition to the NamKhao in the Sampler Platter, they also had sausage, eggrolls, and vermicelli noodles. DELICIOUS! I also ordered their Kapoon and my boyfriend ordered their phở. BOMB! So many things, yet so many good flavors that reminded me of home! Additionally, this place has all of the side ingredients you would put in soup. When a restaurant has all of those side ingredients, you know this place is legit good! Definitely coming back here! I will make sure to come back. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

It’s a blessing to find great food when you are on a road trip. We were blessed when we Unilocaled restaurants in the Redding area and discovered that there was a Champa Garden right off the I-5 exit. We rolled in right as they were opening the doors. There is a large wait staff so all your needs are taken care of immediately. Water glasses are filled, empty dishes are removed from the table and they are constantly cleaning and tidying the inside and outside. We ordered the Champa sampler which I’m familiar with, having had it in SF. We had the Thai chicken larb and the Tom Yum soup. We really didn’t need 3 dishes, we just couldn’t make up or minds on which one wasn’t necessary so we got 3. The sampler was by far the best. If you are in the area, I recommend this place, highly!!!

We were up in this area on vacation and decided to take a chance with this place. All I’ll say is holy crap! They don’t use MSG portions are big and the food is very authentic. The place is not upscale but you do get that street food environment. Couple of must try dishes is their Mango Fried Rice, pineapple shrimp curry in clay pot, yellow curry and their Pad Thai; these are must try. The yellow curry(the mildest of all) taste as if they didn’t use packets, but freshly made with a stone mortar. Their Pad Thai was the best I’ve had. We called ahead and our table was ready but quite a few people left and didn’t want to wait 20 minutes. seriously? Their Asian Sausage was nothing special but what is special is the sauce they included. It really packed a punch. The staff here are very friendly. Out group had a kid that was crying and one of the waiter brought over an Easter egg basket and it really cheered them up. This place was packed but staff always made sure everyone was taken care of.

Really good prices for quality food. I just returned from Thailand so didn’t expect to be wowed. But I really liked their pad thai. It was very saucy and had a ton of flavor! Their drunken noodles were also good. The phở was just okay, maybe their Vietnamese food isn’t as good as their Thai food. Get the pad thai! Their staff was also very friendly and attentative. Would recommend trying out.

Came here off of a recommendation from a friend. I got the Kapoon and shrimp rangoons to-go. The soup was really good, the only downside was they forgot to give me utensils, so I had a hard time mixing everything together once I got to my hotel room. When I ate it, all the chicken was at the bottom of the container and I couldn’t dig it out until I drank a lot of the soup. The shrimp rangoons were good, just didn’t have much shrimp in it. I went again a few days later and got the wonton soup because I was starting to get sick. The wontons and broth were very flavorful. If I’m ever in Redding again, I’d definitely stop by for some soup.

Really glad we found this place! Nothing like spicy Thai/Laotion food to warm you up after a day in the snow! This place was packed on Black Friday, but there was one table open for us to snag. Always a good sign! Our server was reallly nice about us changing items like 100 times. We ordered a few items subbing tofu for meat and she noticed we were prob vegetarian, and notified us that one of the dishes had fish sauce and without it would be bland, and suggested alternatives. Really nice and proactive! Always helpful when people are familiar with the menu. We got a medium noodle soup(YUMMM, probably toooo oily, but big enough as a appetizer for 2 people, and we got seconds too and its only $ 6.50), drunken noodles(not enough noodles, but too many veggies is healthier so no complaints lol), and a standard red curry which was good. We watned to try this place because of the Laotion-ness being different than the usual Thai route but we opted for some pretty standard Thai entrees oops. Green tea ice cream and fried banana was delish! $ 5.50 and a wonderful ending to a meal and easy to share between 3 – 5 people. Would definitely suggest this place! For under $ 45 including tip the 3 of us had a wonderfully stuffing meal.

The most interesting food in all of Redding, CA is this Thai-Laotian fest. Incredibly damn cheap, too. Curries, noodles, soups, dumplings, stir-fry, seafood in drippy, curry-gooey sauces that will have you will unroll tongue and lap up. The ultimate fantasy though to reap from is the Mango Shrimp Paradise, don’t let it pass you by. Depending on how many are at your table you might need to order two. Now, honest admission: We did family share plates but my specific order was the #44, a balanced chicken, peppers and bean dish. Healthy order, but a little dry, so I simply took sauces from other dishes to wet it up, and Yum! Lesson is, you order enough, you can’t go wrong because you just mix and match everything, this and that. So listen to me now. If you’re an adventurous foodie, and you’re in this city, forget everywhere else, you’re eating here. #bustabutton

Interesting Laotian, Thai, Vietnamese fusion restaurant. They seem to have messed up my order slightly and gotten me some other red curry instead of a Pumpkin Curry. HIGHLYRECOMMEND * Champa Sampler — Good mix of 4 different appetizers you get to try. Also has sweet chili sauce for dipping and lettuce and herbs for wrapping. It’s a large serving, can easily share between 4 people. ** Crispy Fried Rice — Tasty fried rice with a mix of meat and veggies in it, and something that is nice and crunchy. Delicious ** Deep-Fried Spring Rolls — Rice rolls with a tasty crunchy outside ** Laotian Sausage — Good sausage, but nothing particularly amazing ** Cold rice noodles — Cold noodles. Works wells in the lettuce wraps. MEH * Red Curry — Curry flavor was good, but the pork and potato was dry and overcooked.
