Mike the own was an amazing host! The house was beautiful and had instantly become what will be a tradition to visit. We are vegan and vegetarian and he had no problem making us a breakfast that accommodated our eating style. In short, the house and owners provided the kind of experience that makes you wanna do whatever you can to help them succeed!

This home is beautiful but still needs some TLC. The owners are very nice, however may not have run a b&b before. It lacks some simple amenities such as… beautiful jacuzzi tub but with a hand held shower; no shampoo, soap or lotion in the rooms. I checked other rooms but they didn’t gave any either. We had to go to the local store and buy some. My husband used a common shower that was located downstairs in the bathroom located off the living room. Not convenient at all. Our room was never serviced, bed never made, clean towels not refreshed. No blow dryer or iron in room. I was told where the linen closet was and to help myself. Everything is just piled in this closet. The owner offered no assistance to get it for me. Extra pillows in room had no pillowcases so we couldn’t use them. Water is available down the hall in a mini fridge — also help yourself. Cookies and milk are put out at night but when we returned from dinner at 9, they were gone and not replenished. No welcome snack as advertised. Water is available in a small fridge — again help yourself — would have been nice to just have 2 bottles already in the room. No tv in rooms and lighting in room was very dim so not good for reading. Dusty light fixtures and ceiling fan. Bed spreads looked old — maybe from a consignment shop. Linens are not luxurious as stated in ad. Breakfast was ok, but again — partially help yourself. The watermelon wasn’t quite ripe and the bread was a little stale — not even warm. It wouldn’t take much to initially pour water/juice for guests, but it’s on the buffet if you want it. No butter available at all and individual salt/pepper shakers weren’t placed on tables, just left on buffet. Plastic tablecloths on breakfasts tables — not B & B style. No little touches that made this place comforting. Back entrance doors(there are 2 back-to-back) where guests come in was dirty and run down, with overgrown bushes — hard to maneauver through with suitcases and the owners did not offer assistance at all. Train ran all night and blew its whistle every hour. We left after 2nd night and did not stay for our 3rd — just too much discomfort.

What a great place! Mike was a terrific host, telling us the history of the home and how they fixed it up. We stayed in the Garden Suite, which is at the backside of the house. Very nice accomodations! All the rooms looked great and Red Wing is such a great place to relax and enjoy. Good restaurants, bike trails, parks and golfing! Thanks Mike for a great time!

The Moondance Inn is a wonderful B&B and we had a lovely stay here. Chris and Mike were wonderful hosts and offered a wealth of knowledge about the town of Red Wing and the surrounding area. They have tastefully decorated all of the rooms, not the lacey frilly stuff that we find tacky, but sophisticated and never overembellished. The breakfast was delicious and the coffee was the best that I had in the Midwest! We would definitely stay here when we visit Red Wing again.
