i been shopping hear since they opened, prices are reasonable, the only complaint would be is there is always a problem with my checkout. every time i go over what i bought and the slip i find something wrong, at least 3 to 4 dollars each visit i see people leaving with two carriages full and wonder how much money they have been over charged. i actually mention this to the manager one time and he said its not there practice to over charge ther customers and dismissed it.

Market Basket in Reading is my go to for groceries. The produce department is great, and the prices can’t be beat. This is my first and often only stop for the weekly pickup. Some have raised the issue of Market Baskets famously hectic shopping experience and with good reason.(I still can’t go back to the Woburn location. It haunts me.) *ahem*. Hey, let’s find your perfect Market Basket shopping time! Did you like Mad Max: Fury Road? Great, go to this location on Saturday around 1pm. So shiny, so chrome. Perhaps Speed starring Sandra Bullock and Whoa is more your, um, thing? Try Sunday at 3:30. A little less smashy with a light romantic sub plot. Still too much? Looking for a little Driving Miss Daisy? Wednesday, 4:30pm is your time. You can actually pause in the aisle. No kidding. Hectic shopping aside, if you have your list at the ready and loins girded, a fine shopping experience is sure to be had. Excelsior! (what?)

Went here knowing it’s expensive but it worked out well. As it is a grocery store with ready to eat hot and cold food and a large selection, it is very good for lunch or dinner. I chose fresh citrus, several hot items, and several cold cooked vegetables. Careful not to get too much weight as that effects price and adding a pretzel, it was a great lunch for under $ 15. There were tables so I could relax indoors while eating it.

I love the store. The employees are very helpful and nice. The check out process is speedy considering how many people are checking out at any give time. The store is always clean and well stocked. A decent variety of organic fruits and veggies. Prices can’t be beat. It took me awhile to embrace Market Basket but I absolutely love it now. Only 4 stars because it is always a bit crowded.

This is one of the better Market Basket stores I’ve visited. Really love the fresh sushi bar… you can ask for things made to order if there is staff available. Fresh produce section is great. Cannot beat the prices. I can get so many more groceries here than anywhere else for the same amount of money. Red box outside is a bonus!

I have to knock of a star due to the deli usually being really, really slow(as in, pull # 78 and they’re at 30). The deli meat is also hit or miss, with turkey being good for a «store brand» but the roast beef ranging from good to really weird tasting. Other than that, it’s a nice, clean, well light store with nice staff.

OK, so I’ve figured out how Market Basket keeps their prices so low — or at least how they USED to before taking on $ 1.3 billion dollars of debt last week. Here goes: 1. DON’T spend any money training the shopping cart guy in Reading not to yell«Get out of my way!» at customers having the audacity to walk in the front door while he is stacking carts in front of it.(Yes, this actually happened — on Labor Day.) 2. DON’T spend any money training the children who stock the shelves not to pretend the customers don’t exist while they chat with each other and completely block the aisles with pallets and ladders. 3. DON’T spend any money training the cashiers to ring people out quickly and courteously while not chatting with the baggers until you beg for their attention. 4. DON’T spend any money on shopping cart coral covers so every cart in the store isn’t completely soaking wet after every rain storm. 5. DON’T spend any money training the baggers the basics of bagging groceries, so they don’t pile 8 pounds of groceries on top of your softest fruit and bread in a totally overloaded bag. 6. DON’T spend any money training your managers to greet customers or even pretend they exist, especially now that they are returning to the stores despite the fact you blew the summer off to protest a management change.(No — I don’t give a rat’s ass who your CEO is. Don’t think I stopped coming in during the protest out of solidarity — it’s because there was no F-ing food in the store.)

Great to see them back in business. Still a bit crazy with them restocking shelves and a large volume of shoppers. is there a way to allow a left hand turn when exiting? or maybe adding an exit toward the back of the lot? I am sure the other businesses in that section would have customers that would appreciate not being forced to make a right hand turn. I’ll give them an

This is a great place to shop. I go here on the weekends. But they’ve been increasing their prices ever since. But, in exchange for that, they’re doing a big 4% off all items(except for some items) thing for the rest of 2014. Sometimes it can be only 5 cents off, sometimes 15 cents off. It varies. I really like the Deli, I get the Ham sliced very thin and it’s very delicious.

Holy moly! Do NOT go here on a Sunday morning and expect to find a relaxing shopping experience. Actually, just do not go here on a Sunday morning period. There isn’t room to push a cart, turn around, or even look for the product you want. Just grab and go and get outta the way! The produce and meat selections they have are great and even better than I’ve seen at Stop & Shop. It’s definitely a bit less expensive too. I will be back but not on a Sunday for sure!
