The Cake Diner

Stopped by to get cookies for a party at the last minute and they were amazing! They cupcakes look delectable! I can’t wait to go back and try them!

The pastries here were pretty spot on. The décor is still in the works with nothing on one side of the walls. Adding something there will help to make it a nice place to sit and hang out for a bit. I had a bismark, mini cannoli, red velvet cupcake, hostess cupcake. The bismark was sans powdered sugar, which is hard to find, and preferred. Very good jam, good ratio to the cream. I love that the cream was heavier than what you find in most. Great cupcakes. Normal portions, inventive flavors. Love the name. Very good potential here.
The negative part was the service. There is no situation in which it is acceptable for a customer to walk in and for all 5 people to completely ignore them, especially with only one other customer in the room. That is a big deal, and the fact that at least 2 of them were more than old enough to know better makes me wonder about the management. That can be make or break. The girl was nice once she addressed me but I was about 30 seconds from just walking out and going somewhere else. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I will give them a little more time to get it together before returning.

The cake diner did smell great. All the cupcakes and other types of desserts looked great behind the display case. But that is as far as it went… Cupcakes where hard and dry. Not what I was expecting from a place that specializes in that type of dessert.
