First of all I like the little mom & pop diners. 2nd there’s not too many of them around; especially around Randolph that offer a good menu and recipes to back it up. So I say, «kudos» to Vern’s Place. Keep up the good work.

This restaurant is going downhill. It was a nice homey breakfast place when it first opened at the other location. The new location is as cold as the owner’s personality. The food id mediocre.

Rochester, NY
The décor lost some hometown feel in the new place. Despite some uneven flooring it is mostly an open style seating area. The sleeveless cook is visible and that is a real put off.
I’ve only had breakfast and it is mostly good. Grits always seem to be a bit salty. Eggs and homefries are good.
I would say to consider Vern’s for breakfast. Prices are fair though you won’t rave about it, you’ll probably leave satisfied.

Every time we drive past and see the owner sitting out front smoking, I realize we need to leave a review.
We stopped going here 2 years ago for a couple reasons.
First, the management seems like she could care less if you eat there or not. Not friendly or personable at all.
Second and most importantly, the bathroom.
There is 1 shared restroom in the place. My wife went in to use it last time there and it was not good.
It looked as if either someone was stabbed in there, or one of the female employees forgot to clean up after taking care of her monthly calling.
Very, very disturbing.
Have not been back since.
