Not the best Caribbean food I’ve tasted– but certainly not the worst ! I think the food was a little bland but I would maybe try something different next time and give them another chance. However this wouldn’t be my first pick.

I agree with all the reviews about the food either lacking flavor or being overwhelmingly spicy in a gross way. Got oxtails and the gravy was bland. Rice was dry and flavorless. I’ve given this place a second chance, but the food isn’t fresh, the atmosphere is depression, and I’m not coming back unless he makes some needed changes.

The food here is ok. Considering that Randolph does not have many great places to eat I come in every couple of months. Now if I didn’t feel like I was getting jerked by the owner on cost it would be a 4 stars review. I placed an order and immediately he became my PCP giving me me several options on the health products he sells. I’m not here for that or else I would go to The health store in quincy. After declining his sales pitch he made my plate. I was very clear I didn’t want alot of rice. Just cabbage. He returned and swiped my card and charged me an extra $ 3.50 without my knowledge or consent. When I confronted him he acknowledged that tax and cabbage was extra. Total B.S. he then offered me the cash out of his pocket. Not the register. Smh. He beat me out of a couple of dollars. It’ll be the last one they will see from me.

This place disgust me. I just moved to Randolph and I wanted some Jamaican food. I normally go to Only One in Dorchester, but I was feeling lazy and didn’t want to make the drive. The place is a store with a kitchen in the back, which didn’t bother me. I ended up ordering a large plate of Oxtails(comes with majority rice, and a scoop of cabbage and plantains). I got home eager to enjoy my food and opened the box and was met with a to go plate full of rice and bones! The oxtails consist of gravy and bones! There is absolutely no meat here. It ended up being $ 15! I wouldn’t even let my dog eat this food because there’s no meat. Needless to say I hopped in the car and went to Only One.

Ok. I’m in the restaurant business. My company services over 1500 restaurants in MA. With that being said, I understand that atmosphere or a restaurants appearance doesn’t neccesarily mean that the food sucks. This place is store with a kitchen in the rear. I kept an open mind coming in… When I got to the counter to order food there was no menu board. I asked for a menu, the guy then went to copier and copied a menu that looked like it had been copied 50 times over. I got the menu and went to counter to order. Got 2 orders of jerk chicken with rice and 2 beef patties. $ 30. The guy doesn’t go and cook our food, instead he scoops my food that was already made from pans under heat lamps. I got it to go, when I got home there was no beef patties. And the food was soooo spicy it wasn’t edible. This is not my first time having jerk chicken. I’ve even eaten it in Jamaica. This was a 1−2−3 strikes your out experience. I won’t be back.

I must say the owner was very friendly but the salmon that I ordered was a lil over cooked. I had a plate with rice and beans with salmon and veggies and he threw plantains for no extra charge. That was my first visit and i was a little disappointed with the salmon because i wanted some so bad and it didn’t taste as i had hoped. However, the veggies were delicious and the rice seemed a lil hard i like my rice soft and fluffy. I will like to give it another try and order something different, but try it out!

This place is amazing. It is a small place with a lot of options. The owner is incredibly friendly and wants you to try new things. He was very healthy smoothies and organic ingredients. The jerk chicken fell off the bone and the macaroni was delicious. This is my new favorite spot for Carribean food.

I had a taste for Jamaican food today and even though I have been to top notch before and wasnt impressed I thought I would give it another try, what a mistake. The owner was too busy on his cell phone apparently to get my order right. I asked for plaintains and when I got home — no plaintains. The rice was very bland and dry-not sure if it was homemade or not. It was definitely NOT made that day. The fried chicken had absolutely no flavor and left quite an aftertaste which is weird. I am disappointed as this is the only Jamaican restaurant close by. The wings were so salty I had to throw them away. This will be my last visit.

I’m not an expert on Caribbean food, but I’m going to invoke the But-I-Know-What-Tastes-Good doctrine. I like little joints like this place, but it has its weaknesses. I went for the stewed oxtail with beans and rice. I wasn’t all that impressed with it. The beans and rice tasted old while the stewed oxtail meat was really hard to get off the bone. There was this bitter aftertaste with it as well. Not sure if it was homemade or not, but I did like the Jamaican beef patty to a reasonable degree. The pastry outside was warm and flaky, while the meat filling inside was hot, spicy, and savory. The restaurant is out-of-my-way, so I’m not really inclined to visit again, as there are other Caribbean places closer by. Give it a shot though, if you’re around.
