Some people just shouldnt be bartenders!!! I eat lunch there quite a bit and normally the bartender there makes even me smile. Then there is this bartender, tosses the menu and coaster at you, hides out in the back, loud and just makes you wonder. It takes quite a bit fore to under tip. I tip 20% or more everytime b/c I know how tough it is. But even getting to 15% was a stretch for this«girl».

Definitely will NOT be coming back. The food was HORRIBLE! Mixed drinks were overpriced & subpar. Appetizer & dinner plates were chipped /broken. Entertainment was pretty bad also, I couldn’t wait to get out of there. This is one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. Seriously, anywhere is better than here.

Received a gift certificate so we gave it a try. The food and service was just average. I can’t say we will be back.

Have been here about a half dozen times on Wednesday nights… when Sigy Moller and Ronnie Howe play. We’ve had the raw bar shrimp many times and it’s excellent. Tonight tried the teriyaki glazed turkey tips. The portion was huge and the tips were tender and delicious. Will definitely have them again. The service has always been great.

The former Piccadilly Pub. The place has a cozy New England feel to it. The bar is huge and there is a cozy fire place in the dining area to enjoy on a cold night. The service is fast. The waitress was nice and bubbly. I order a bonfire apple martini and a pear and goat cheese salad. I added shrimp to it. I would go back. The location is easy to get to and close to the movie theater to make it a great night out!

Went there for lunch. I sat at the bar and there were maybe 5 people in the place. It took for minutes for my lunch to come out… and it was just an asian chicken salad. the food was good and the bartender was nice but it takes FOREVER to get your food. Place is clean and a gazillion TV’s. I’d go back but not if I’m in any kind of a hurry.

Vistied the Lodge again Sunday night. It was a very dissappointing dining experience. We were seated quickly. The place wasn’t busy, but it wasn’t dead either. Unfortunately, the manager had cut the wait staff down to one. So she was WAYOVERWORKED, and we ended up receiving poor service for that reason. I did get the impression she was a good server, but just overwhelmed, so I lay blame for the poor service on the manager. Our server took our drink order. I requested a Sam Summer and was told they were now serving Octoberfest. I found that to be unusual before September, but that was fine. The server deliverd the drinks and took our order. The beer was a little flat, not the worst, but it wasn’t as enjoyable as it should have been. I had narrowed down my choices to two, the French Dip sandwhich or the Italian Pizza which comes with sausage, onions, peppers and cherry peppers, and told the server I would go with whichever she recommended. She said she’s had the French Dip and it was really good so I went with her recommendation. My wife initially ordered the steak tips but was advised the kitchen was out of steak tips, so she elected to try the chicken broccoli alfredo that was on special. Two bad choices. My sandwich was served on a small, but good roll. The problem is that although the roast beef was tasty, it was 2 slices of roast beef that were each ½ an inch thick. I was like a dog gnawing on a bone trying to take each bite of the sandwich. The roast beef was proably a little over room temperature. The cheese was not fully melted. The au jus was not even warm. The french fries were the star of the dish as they were fresh and hot. My guess is, given it was about 8:15 on a Sunday night, that the cook had already cleaned the slicer that would typcially be used to slice roast beef for a French Dip, and rather than clean the slicer a second time, he elected to slice the roast beef with a dull knife. My wife’s chicken broccoli alfredo did not come with alfredo sauce, it came with white wine garlic sauce, which woudl be fine if you like white wine and garlic, but she dislikes both. My guess here is that the kitchen ran out of alfredo sauce and the cook didn’t know who to make it, or was too lazy to make it, from scratch. Our server never really had a chance to check with us as to how our food was. She did walk by with arms full of food on her way to delver them and asked in passing how everything was, of course while I had a mouth full of chewy roast beef, and I was able to blurt out that it was«just ok.» but that did not prompt a later visit from her to find out why. When she cleared the table and provided the check, I asked if the roast beef was always sliced a half inch thick on the French Dip sandwich. She said she didn’t know. I explained the thickness of the beef resulted in what would have been an excellent sandwich was actually terrible. Now, this bothers me, the manager was there assisting her with clearning our plates, heard my comments, and could not have cared less. For many reasons, it will likely be a LONGTIME, if ever again, that we eat at the Lodge. I also doubt they monitor the Unilocal reviews.

I was really looking forward to going here until I heard what a sexist pos Steve was. Gets caught making rude and sexist comments about customers and staff. His reply??? «Tough guy» Steve tells the customer who is offended by his sexist comments to «take her business elsewhere». Real classy!

8⁄24 Update — I contacted the bar and received a very quick and professional response — I believe the below was a one off based on the commentary and my own prior experience. I will leave the post for a day or two in case anyone read the negative — it should be noted that an establishment can only address something if they know about it and as soon as the Lodge did — they acted on my concern. You can not ask for more than that! 8⁄23 Was one of my favorite places until I witnessed the manager and his boys be very disrespectful towards females and the staff… and when I commented — «Steve» told me I could leave… haven’t witnessed that kind of disrespect towards women in a few decades… sad because the service is really good!

Went here with wifey for a few drinks and some appetizers. It was decent but the bartender was out of it. Tall blond with a ponytail. She pissed me off when she rubbed her fingers across the plate I was gonna eat from. She also had a dazed and confused persona about herself. If I go back I’ll avoid her.

My favorite local water hole. Amazing that this beautifully wood grained bar used to be Picadilly Pub! Drinks always great, staff always lovely. My favorite are the chile, quesadilla, buffalo fingers, and Lodge salad. Lots of regulars come in, great vibe.

Walked in and the atmosphere looked nice; we were at first baffled by how empty the huge parking lot was. Had the pickle chips as an appetizer and the portions were huge! … But the food was gross. So much salt. I ordered the fish and chips and my girlfriend ordered the Lodge burger. We both are dying of thirst at this point. All in all, great size lot to park your car and eat at one of the respectable establishments next door but man, it feels as though I was lost at sea and had to resort to drinking ocean water. My mouth may never be free of this salinity. The doggy box was immediately thrown into the dumpster outside my apartment complex. I hope the stray cats do not feed from it; it is not a fate I would wish on my worst enemy.

My grandfather lives in Randolph and it was his birthday so my aunt picked this restaurant because it is near his house. When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty at 12:20 on a Sunday. Despite the emptiness of the place, we waited over an hour from when we sat down to when we actually got our food. I ordered the baked scrod with mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables. The scrod was slimy and I stopped eating after two bites because I feared I would get food poisoning. The mashed potatoes were bland and had giant lumps of undercooked potato. The sautéed veggies was frozen corn drowning in a watery type substance with chunks of red and green peppers. The table next to use had tons of uneaten food and was trying to flag the waitress down to pay most of the time we were there with a look of anxiety in their eyes. The waitress asked if I wanted to box up my meal and for fear of offending anyone I said sure. While I feel bad for being wasteful, I tossed it directly in the dumpster in the parking lot after we left. This place should really be closed down. Or on kitchen nightmares or something. Though they did have a nice fireplace and my boyfriends French fries weren’t bad.

It was a choice between Wild Wings and the Lodge for Super Bowl Sunday! We chose the Lodge because it’s convenient and the space is large with plenty TV’s to view the BIGGAME. The Good! As large as this place is it has a cozy feel the drinks priced OK and a good menu selection. The wings from my previous experience(last year) were pretty good. So we order a pitcher of beer and hot wings to get things started. That’s about as good as it gets! Game Time… The Bad I found it curious that the place was not filled to capacity I figured we got in early and it would get crazy soon. Not SO! Guess they read the reviews. We found great seats for the game. First there was only one waitress. Seriously 1 for a football game! She tried hard but couldn’t keep up with the demand. The wings were undercooked(still bleeding) near the bone yuck! Sent them back twice. The final time they were so overcooked we could hardly eat them. I know it was busy but there is no excuse for undercooked food anytime. Although I love supporting local establishments this is probably the last time Ill consider this place. We left at the half and ordered from Bertucci Pizza. Conclusion: I would have thought the manager would have came to the table to inquirer why we had to send the wings back several times but I guess he/she was busy watching the game instead of overseeing quality! A WORDOFADVICE Read the other reviews before you CONSIDERTHISPLACE.

Just returned from The Lodge — first and last time we will ever go there. My husband had clam chowder that looked like mush and what we thought were big huge portabellow mushrooms. I ordered a cheeseburger — medium well with swiss cheese. I got a cheeseburger with orange yellow american cheese and it was raw in the middle. When we told our waitress that we were not satisfied. She said she would take it off the bill. When I got home I called the restaurant to speak with a manager — got voice mail. Called again and spoke to the Manager on Duty — she said she was not informed of our«displeasure». When I mentioned the clam chowder — she said the big brown things were probably potatoes!!! That made it even worse. Someone said a glass of wine is $ 9.00! I wouldn’t bother with this place ever again!

This place is basic. I couldn’t have a burger because they only have brioche buns. So I got the Portobello salad with chicken. Presentation was sub par. I literally had a quartered Apple and tomato on it so I could see where the tomato was messed up. The salad itself was a house salad plus spinach, walnuts, and apples which were soaked in lemon. I could taste it. The boys had the burgers and said they were bland patties which were burnt. Grammy had fish and chips. She said the cole slaw was sour. I think they forgot the honey. The onion ring batter was missing salt. All in all, I wouldn’t come back unless I wanted to just drink and watch a game. Good luck.

We pull into the parking lot for Saturday lunch, and the only cars are way back at the edge, ie, staff. Why would the staff be there if there were no patrons? I left Grandma in the car and went to check; yes, they were open. It is a fairly large place to be the only customers. CLEANLINESS: 1.5STARS The tables all had salt or something on them, the silverware was all spotty. APP /BUFF CHICKENWONTONS: 3.5 Stars. The highlight of the experience. SOUP /SALAD /HALF SANDWICH: 2STARS Tiny half sandwich, tiny salad, soup was one of those restaurant pre made packs like Cirelli’s used to sell. DRAFTBEERSELECTION: 2.75STARS Got a Guiness. This place is doomed. The staff were all playing with their phones while every table needed Windex. Whoever is the manager of this place ought to get his check, on the assumption that he is the one who should have last eyes on the flatware before it hits the table unclean.

I can’t comment on the food because when we were here last, we just had drinks. And I don’t think it was all that bad really! My only complaint was that it was fucking freezing inside. But it was August so they probably had the AC cranked to kill the humidity. The inside is huge and I love all the woodwork — it’s really pretty. Our server was really attentive and pleasant(wish I remembered her name) and our drinks arrived quickly. They make a nice bloody mary with all the fixings so if anything, it’s a great spot to nurse a hangover.
