I have been on hiatus from reviews for some time. Have eaten lots of amazing meals at wonderful restaurants but it took eating at 28 West to get me back reviewing. We were looking for a different restaurant then those we typically visit in the vicinity. Saw Morgan Run and thought we would give it a try. Not members so we weren’t sure what we would find but after waiting 15 minutes for the hostess I should have known. Bar and lounge very busy with what looked like regulars so I went in search for the hostess. No explanation for the different eating areas which I chalked up to assuming we were members. Eventually seated in the dining room-only area that takes reservations. Nice, way calmer area-good so far. When we were seated there were maybe 4 other tables with people. See only one waiter that refuses eye contact and after 15 minutes the manager came and took our drink order-ok one waiter –probably busy but would get to us. The only non alcoholic drink served quickly but when the waiter finally graced us with his presence –15 minutes later-I had to ask him to check on our lost drinks. Rather than go through everything I will move on to lowlights-suckiest service we have ever received, went with waiters favorite(short rib) which was awful — tasted like reheated meat and gummy pasta, had to beg for refills of water and iced tea, never offered bread even though all those around us had bread, tried to get the attention of a busboy? Lighting candles at the table next door but evidently he took lessons on not making eye contact, one waiter for the entire room and it looked like he was bussing his own tables too, no follow up, had to chase waiter to get check and best of all — 20% SERVICEFEE. For 3 people??? If we had any service I guess I wouldn’t mind but really-is this how you compensate the one waiter you schedule on a Friday night to compensate him when everyone is clamoring for attention that can’t be given? I originally thought that maybe this was the up charge for not being members but I called today to see if non-members pay a fee and was told no. Definitely a club I would never join. Save your money and go anywhere else. We eat out several times a week and this was the WORSTSERVICE we have ever had. We so wanted to add this to our list of regular dining spots but never again.

Seriously worst service ever!!! Been here 4 times now and thought things would be different because it’s new… I was wrong! Manager didn’t help, service snail pace when empty, I wouldn’t recommend to anyone!!! Food below average!

Service is amazing, and the setting is beautiful!!! When I checked in at the hostess stand they asked my name. My server, as well as a manger(who stopped by to see how things were) used my last name when addressing me. Todd was my server, he offered wine and food suggestions. I had the stuffed peppers as a tapa and fish tacos as an entrée. Both were very good. My biggest complaint about this place are the service charges and fees. At the bottom of the menu it states something to the effect of… for your convenience we add a 20% fee. Not a fan off hidden fees or charges. INCREASEYOURPRICESANDLOSETHE20% FEE!!! This is why I am only giving it 3 stars.

Came here with my cousin who lives nearby. What a great experience! Service and food and drink were all excellent and it’s a beautiful space. Great value! Will definitely be back when i am in the area…
