I feel the earth move under my feet I feel the sky tumbling down, tumbling down I feel the earth move under my feet I feel the sky tumbling down I just lose control Down to my very soul I get a hot and cold all over I feel the earth move under my feet I feel the sky tumbling down, Tumbling down, tumbling down I am somewhat convinced that Carol King may have traveled this very road, I can’t imagine what else could of provided that kind of inspiration. Its definitely the most rock and roll road I’ve ever traveled. Its apparent after you enter the quake zone that the State of California will never stabilize this stretch of highway, with its twists and turns, ups and down its like driving on a roller coaster, but please resist the temptation to raise both your hands above your head if you’re driving. Its very easy to tell the locals from the newbies and I definitely fall in to the latter category, while I drove with a focus the locals just fly through the turns and elevation changes as if they know every nook and cranny. After first reading about this unorthodox stretch of highway from one of my Unilocal friends(Plan B) I knew I had to experience it for myself and what a ride it was. You can tell immediately that this is no ordinary road just the mere fact that they would post signage as a disclaimer is proof of how unstable it is. Driving this short stretch of highway is a must, as a bonus the view of the coast is nothing short of amazing, it’s absolutely a thrill from start to finish. I got the feeling that I was driving on the edge of the earth and that at any moment the land could slide into the ocean and believe me this is definitely a possibility and oh what a ride that would be…
