I just had the best experience at Chakra salon! I am in town for a short time for work and desperately needed a bang trim. Rebecca took me into the chair with no wait time and did an INCREDIBLE job! I am always nervous about new people cutting my bangs, even a trim, and she did an even better job than my normal stylist. She was so friendly and kind. Sometimes a stylist can handle a ‘complimentary bang trim’ as something they are just trying to get done with quickly but she was attentive and made sure she knew exactly how I wanted them shaped. Rebecca made my day! I highly recommend this salon.

Ask for Kellye! She can do it all! She is an expert and there isn’t no challenge she can’t do! I’ve been going to her for my Hair Cuts since I moved out here from L.A. and she does better than any barber that I’ve been too, she can do tapers and fades as good as she does color and woman’s hair! :) how many hair salons can you go to and get a barber quality men’s hair cut? Nicest woman ever, she’s the best!

Ask for Rebecca! I made an appointment this morning, was in within an hour, and walked out ecstatic!!! She is wonderful and I am so happy with my cut and color!!! bit was my first time coloring my hair and I love that Rebecca was on the conservative side and did exactly what I wanted!!! She’s also the sweetest and makes the entire experience wonderful!

I have been going to this salon since they opened. Linda Johnstone had been my stylist at a prior Aveda Salon in Palm Desert just prior to the opening. I love this salon, it’s customer service and how they walk the walk when it comes to satisfying their customers. I always had issues with my hair turning brassy and they contacted Aveda and consulted others in the salon and finally hit on the obscure thing that conquered that problem. I have recommended this salon to others who have been very, very happy with their stylist and the salon. Very professional, great products and great people. They work very hard to make certain that their customers are happy and have an enjoyable experience. Not a stuffy salon — very, very relaxing.

Lovely salon. Peaceful environment, clean, organized, quality products and convenient. Linda, the owner, is a great stylist. Very caring and particular in her hi-​lites and haircuts. She always takes care to make sure I’m happywith the service I receive. Fabulous shampoo bowls.

I came in with a very clear picture of what I wanted, but got an entirely different look from Jessica that bore no resemblance. The color was muddy and the cut was almost the worst that I’ve ever had. With all the great reviews, I was very disappointed and regret paying my bill versus just leaving. I will have to go somewhere else to get this fixed.

If you are looking for a place to get awesome service and beautiful results, look no further. I have been going to Chakra since 2007 and the only single word that describes this salon is AWESOME! My Stylist is Linda J. and she has always done a fabulous job on my hair.
Everyone there has an upbeat attitude and everyone there is competent.
I always leave there feeling fabously beautiful and in an upbeat mood because they just fill you with positive energy.
Go check it out… it is honestly the friendliest Aveda salon I have ever visited.

Finally, a stylist I want to return to. Linda Johnstone just did a great job with my color and styling. This is the third salon I have tried in the desert, and success at last! I will be back for sure.

Very good Aveda salon in the desert. Very easy to get to on Hwy 111 Rancho Mirage. Typical Aveda Salon everyone is friendly and willing to make your visit pleasurable, no attitudes. Have great selection of products and you are greeted by Andrew at the front desk. He is polite, friendly, professional and helpful. I used Kelly as my stylist and she was friendly, listened to me and did what I asked. It was my first time with her and I liked her skill level and style. I only had color service. Very satisfied.

Chakra can’t be beat.
I’ve been getting my hair done here for years, and always look forward to my appointments. I literally always get compliments on my hair after my appointments, which is totally flattering and also cracks me up.
The staff are incredible. Everyone is so friendly and fun, they all seem to genuinely enjoy working together and it shows. The atmosphere in the place is great too, it looks clean and modern, while still feeling warm and inviting.
I also love their selection of Aveda products. They have a line of products for men that are experiencing, ahem, hair deficiencies, which I appreciate as a sufferer of this condition.
Definitely check out Chakra if you’re in the Valley and looking for a great Aveda salon.

I had my haircut yesterday with Linda Johnstone. It was an amazing experience. She listened to what I wanted and I came out with best cut ever. I can’t wait to go back for highlights. This salon is just such a treat, — clean, quiet, happy place to relax and be pampered! Linda takes great care of me, and my hair always looks excellent. I’m nearly 50 years old and have been having my hair colored and cut professionally for at least 30 of those years, and I’ve never had such a consistently great result.

Love this salon! I just came to see Linda Bray and got a totally fresh cut. I’m a very low-​maintenance girl when it comes to hair, and Linda knew exactly what to do. She gave me a short bob that still has a lot of body despite the length, giving me a very fresh and chic look. Obsessed! The entire staff was excellent, and I absolutely loved all the products she used on my hair — it smells amazing! Thank you Chakra! :)

Jennifer did a great job when I had a wedding just a few days longer. My hair was short but not short enough. She did a great job of taking the weight off the top and layering. Very pleasant personality.

I’ve been coming here for 5 years now and Linda Bray always makes me look & feel beautiful and refreshed when I leave. The color is always awesome. My hair is soft and so healthy. I have very straight and fine (but a lot of it) hair. I get tons of compliments all the time on the color and different cuts. In fact, the cut & color she does on my hair looks fabulous the whole time between visits. I go every 6 – 8 weeks and my hair looks great the whole time, even if I wait 8 weeks between visits!!!
I most certainly recommend coming here whether you’re in the valley visiting or you live here and be sure to ask for Linda. She’s a great stylist!!!

My visiting sister-​in-​law and I wanted a new cut and color so I found this place on Unilocal.I called and they were polite and it was easy for them to get us both in at the same time. Turns out my step daughter showed up too and we all three had a fun experience together each of us having a good outcome with our hair color, foils and cuts. It is more expensive than what I am accustom to but the atmosphere was good, the people friendly and professional and it was an overall great experience.

First of all, I don’t live anywhere NEAR Palm Desert — my husband & I were on holiday for our wedding anniversary. Wanting desperately to vamp up my wilted locks, I turned to Unilocal for the closest Aveda Salon. Upon arrival, I meet Cassie, who I like immediately — & though I’m unsure what I want, I am inspired: both by HER haircut & by a few hair photos she had me look through. A mini highlight followed by an angled cut. & it is SO cute. Plus, as I might have guessed, Cassie was absolutely darling. I want her to move to San Jose so I can see her every month!!! If I could give my experience 6 stars out of 5, I would. ;)

I was down in Palm Springs for the weekend with my best girlfriends, and we stopped by the Chakra Aveda Hair Studio for a spa pampering session. We figured it’d be a nice way to work in some spa time while also getting some long overdue haircuts.
Little did I know that I’d get a life changing haircut! It sounds silly — it’s just a haircut, right? But it’s been notoriously difficult for me to find someone I actually like, so instead I just opt to cut my hair as little as possible.
But Rebecca did an AMAZING job. I told her I was growing out my bangs and wanted regular layers to even it out. I’ve had boring layers for the last ten years, but I’m pretty low maintenance and that’s about all I can handle. Rebecca said instead she’d give me «inverted layers,» which no one else seems to have heard of, but let me tell you it’s INCREDIBLE.
My hair has so much more volume than I can ever remember having. I don’t know what inverted layers are, but they look normal, yet so much more vibrant and bouncy. I’m a wash-​my-​hair-​and-​run-​out-​of-​the-​house kind of girl, which Rebecca asked about and adapted my haircut to… and now, literally I just wash my hair, blow dry it for 2 minutes, and my hair looks amazing all day.
I’m seriously considering driving 8 hours back down to Palm Springs just to get my haircut by Rebecca again.
