Red lentil soup is unbelievable. Best I’ve ever had. Try the spinach pie — you will be hooked. Great take-out place but I don’t suggest eating in. Only a few tables. The owner is very friendly.

My Coworker and I stopped in for lunch today and got the greek salad with falafal — WOW. It was a little pricey at $ 13 Each, but it was very large, they spiced and seasoned it amazingly, and falafal was so fresh. It also had a little side of hummus. I was so pleasantly surprised by this little place! Will definitely be going back.

Get the chicken gyro entrée and the hummus, and you will not regret it. One of my favorite dishes of all time. Very cute place that is family-owned, they are always super nice. I would highly recommend.

If I remember correctly they close early for a Saturday night I think 8:30, the décor is questionable. The owners are very nice and the grape leaves are really good, it may not be the best place around but it is better than most

My boyfriend and I were looking for a new place to try. We’re big on Greek/Mediterranean food and when we saw this place had such good reviews, we thought, «why not?» After coming here, I honestly don’t understand why this place even has 4 stars. First of all, I’m not the type to judge a book by it’s cover, so when we walked in and saw the(not so great) décor, I knew I didn’t want to let that affect my opinion of the food. There was some confusion when it came to ordering which basically came down to us sort of yelling our order to the guy behind the counter. The food was kept in a glass deli counter, so before serving, certain foods such as grilled vegetables, they had to be microwaved. My boyfriend’s gyro came on a wrap instead of a pita. Uh what? His father’s salad and the grape leaves were probably the best items we ordered. I LOVE babaganoush and was HIGHLY disappointed in the fact that it was pretty bland and had a weird after taste. Overall, there are other Mediterranean/Greek restaurants I would go to before this one.

Went here for lunch during the work day. I had a chicken Gyro. Ingredients seemed fresh and it was good. The dining area is a little cheap looking, but overall, I will go back again.

My wife and I just ordered take out and it was AWESOME! I ordered the Greek salad with Gyro topping. The portion was large and the gyro had a nice taste to it. The salad included a stuffed grape leaf which was the best grape leaf I have ever had! My wife ordered the falafel platter which came with a tasty sauce and a pita. She love the platter and said the sauce was a perfect addition. I have been driving by this location for years, and decided to try it today because of the Unilocal listing. You won’t be disappointed

This is BYFAR our favorite place to eat in Ramsey. The food is super fresh EVERY time, well seasoned, and reasonably priced. The service is always with a warm smile. When inside the little restaurant, you can feel the love being infused into the food. The owner is always so genuinely friendly. You get the feeling like they’re preparing your dish the same way your mother would make something for you. They are all just the nicest people. My favorites are the red lentil soup and the homemade hummus. They are both STELLAR choices. Also love the chicken gyro, zucchini pancakes, and the falafel. LOVE that falafel. Really, I haven’t had anything there I wasn’t impressed with. This is a local business I go out of my way to support. They make consistently fresh and delicious food. A true gem!

Quite Good Great Value Bright Flavors I had take out, the wife picked me up a Chicken Gyro and Spinach Pies both where excellent and used quality ingredients. Chicken Gyro Wrap $ 6.55 stuffed with nicely seasoned broiled chicken, lettuce, tomato, onion and tzatziki. The gyro was loaded with moist chicken and tightly wrapped, very satisfying. Home Made Spinach Pies(2 per order) $ 6.35, made with hand rolled filo dough that was filled with feta cheese, spinach and scallions were some of the best I have ever tasted. I have a craving for this place as I write this, I liked it that much. The pricing starts at $ 3.75 for soup and tops out at $ 12.95 for their platters that include rice and seasonal vegetables. As stated by reviewer Jennifer L. this is Turkish food, the Mediterranean moniker is always painting with a very broad brush. Smyrna is in Turkey, I included a anecdotal story of this ancient city below. History «Smyrna is an ancient city in Turkey where Ephesus is located. Legend has it that St. John brought the Virgin Mary to Ephesus after the crucifixion, where she spent her last days in a small stone house on what is now Bulbuldagi. It remains a popular pilgrimage site for Christians to this day». Bright, fresh and satisfying.

Great Baklava — I don’t know how but it melts in your mouth! Everything I have tried is fabulous. Smyrna Salad, Salmon Platter are my faves. My only gripe is that they refuse to make a salad with the salmon. I am willing to pay whatever they want, so I don’t see why I can’t have the Salmon without the rice. I would rather have salad to save calories and increase fiber. Seems silly to purchase both when I do not want the rice…

First of all people… STOP calling this a Greek restaurant! It’s completely a Turkish restaurant and us Greeks & Turks get offended when you confuse the two. Similar items on the menu but prepared completely differently. Ok…whew. Now that that’s out of the way… I came here a long time ago because I was told this was a Greek place and was completely disappointed when I found out it was Turkish so I was totally underwhelmed with the food. Knowing now it’s a Turkish place, I went back with a friend recently to test out the waters again with a different mindset. Tiny little place run by a husband and wife(I think) and they’re very nice and accommodating. My friend and I both ordered the chicken gyro wrap and I really enjoyed it! We asked for hot sauce to be added and the owner quickly agreed to put it in the wrap and gave us some more on the side. Gyro meat had nice flavor and the wrap was filling. I wasn’t a huge fan of the tzatziki sauce, didn’t have enough flavor and was a little too watery for my tastes. I will come back to try out the rest of the menu. This place is growing on me. :)

I was looking for a less expensive place for some Greek food. I had read some positive reviews so I gave it a try. Right away my wife and I noticed they were not speaking Greek, there was a publication with«Istanbul» on it, then my chicken ka-bob came and then it clicked… this is NOT A GREEKRESTAURANT. Duh, it does say Medditaranean Café. So, oops on me. Having said that, the chicken was dry. My wife ordered Spinich pie which was fresh but a little bland. We were going to Manhattan so we quickly finished and left. The price was ok but there seems to be an identity issue here. Either go Greek or go Turkish but go all the way, not on the fence.
