My first visit at World of Beer, but really enjoyed the casual atmosphere. They have a big assortment of bottled beers, mostly European and various local ones on draft. I got the Double barley thrilla and really enjoyed it! It’s a dark porter and really smooth and tasty! My friends and I shared the tavern tots appetizer, the portion was bigger than I thought it would be. The jalapeños on it were perfect to help cut the grease from the tater tots. But I’ll warn you, it’s a bit spicy since its fresh jalapeño slices. I gave this place 3 stars because the service was kind of slow and found myself looking for our server.

Huge selection of beer on draft and bottled. Really hard to imagine anyone not being able to find something they like. Staff was friendly and helpful.

So I don’t know if this is an actual term, but I’m coining World of Beer a «Sports Pub». If your neighborhood bar and a sports bar had a child this is it. Lots of TVs, lots of beer, and now serving food. The beer selection is good although still over priced, but we’ll call that the North Hills tax. I’ve only had the bbq bacon burger off the food menu, and it is pretty good. Course if you’re a bar/pub/tavern and can’t do a halfway decent burger you might as well close the doors. I would like to try the German pretzel(or play disc golf with it). It is huge. I have found the service sitting at the bar to be better and more attentive. Generally the service at the regular tables is nice even if they aren’t the most knowledgeable or speedy. Sports Pub. Not a registered trademark… yet.

The music sucked unless you like LOUD rap music Not my choice. The waitress had the unsparkling attitude without a smile. Okay you got the best coming. I ordered 6 tap beers which the didn’t have because they ran out. Okay I will not have an IPA let me order a pale ale. I picked one. She comes back nope. Okay my question was that maybe it be easier to tell me what they had. They were out of IPA and Pale Ales. Thus goes their name??? They plan to come to Saint Paul, MN. They better not bring that manager because we will eat him up and spit him out with all of our brew pub competition

I met an old friend here the other night. The waitress was was nice. I told her I preferred German beer. I told her so long as it was German, surprise me. Everytime she brought me a beer, it was a different brand. I have been to Germany many times, and their beer is as close to German beer as you can get without actually going to Germany. Yes, I will visit this establishment again.

Been here a few times. Each time I visit it’s a great experience. I sat at the bar. The employees were great and they had each beer I asked for. Drank two Scottish beers while talking to one of the bartenders. Great place to sit and drink some good beers.

We have never visited, so stopped in at 1:30 to watch some FB and try it out, We sit at the bar and sit and sit and sit. No one greets us, others come in and are helped. So we say can we get someone to wait on us. Bar tender, CHRIS drops menus, and greeting, no hey have you been here before any questions … Nothing. Then he proceeds to ignore us again. I say lets go. My husband tells hi how rude they are, bartender says he’s busy with other tickets… Umm ok? I have worked in the service industry and I tip accordingly. You be friendly and if you’re busy you can say, hey I’ll be with you in a few. I was less than impressed and they were less than professional and seemed to find it all funny. Hope you receive the same level of service when you go out busy bartenders. Ridiculous!

I’ve seen WOB develop since it opened years ago. It originally ONLY had beer! Then they added liquor and wine and last but not least: FOOD. If you’re looking for any beer at all, you can find it here. The selection is amazing and the staff is usually really knowledgable. This place usually gets crazy packed on the weekends so I’d recommend going early if you can. Whenever they have live music on weekends it’s honestly so loud you have to yell at the top of your lungs to have a convo with the person beside you, but hey, some people are into that. The outdoor seating is my favorite. They have couches for lounging and cocktail waitresses for tables inside and outside. TIP: lots of tvs so good for watching sporting events

This place is so awesome! I wish they had something like this in California! There are SO many beers to choose from(see picture posted)!!! And the cocktails are also cheap as well. There is an actual DJ who plays music and it ain’t bad. A fun place to go and get your groove on and unwind after a long day or week of work.

I’d rather give no stars Went today at 5pm All draft I actually wanted were tapped out. Horrible name of a place when I asked for 5 beers and they couldn’t even offer it. The food… wow! And not in a good way I have never in my life ordered wings and been so disappointed. They were the most fatty, disgusting things I have ever tried. Side note– the sauce and seasoning was amazing. Could have been great. The waitress was slow… very…slow. She didn’t know a thing about beer and when I told her about the wings she said«oh, I’ve never had a wing before» End of story We couldn’t wait to leave… alas of course we did cause the waitress was as slow as molasses

Great place to hang out with friends! Super chill atmosphere. Take advantage of the summer time and go while you can still sit outside! The couches are comfortable and there is tons of outdoor seating. The beer options are limitless. There’s really nothing you could want to drink that they don’t have on draft or on the menu. I tried the blueberry beer on draft and it was very good; it even had real blueberries in it! They let you taste a few beers your debating between ordering to ensure you pick the right one. The staff is friendly and attentive. They also recently opened up their own kitchen and serve food. I didn’t try the food but I did see some appetizers on the table next to me which looked good. I’ll definitely be coming back here more often!

This review is based on drinks: Maybe it’s because of the location, but World of Beer has some $$$ pricy beers! The selection is good overall, however it’s because the majority of their beers are in bottles [supposedly 500 with 50 beers on tap]. But with most of those beers being $ 6-$ 7.50/pint(and they just go up from their in the bottles!), it’s one of the worst beer deals around. I think Yard House, next door, is pretty stiff competition with a great brew selection and food as well [plus lower prices]. It didn’t help that our waitress was new and couldn’t answer any questions without running back to the bar. The experience is A-OK, but if you are looking for a great deal, a personable experience and a good selection, I’d recommend venturing a little closer to downtown: State of Beer, Flying Saucer [food & beer] or Paddy’O Beers, Tasty Beverage, Stags Head, North Street [just beer].

It’s a decent place if you are a beer lover and like outdoor seating. The location is pretty convenient(N Hills) with ample parking space available. They do have lots of imported bottled beer and enough beers on tap. However, this location severely lacks the selection of liquor. Hence if you are going to get anything other than beer, good luck(I know it’s «World of Beer» but at least they should carry a decent/minimum amount of liquor). Also, the service can be hit or miss on weekends due to their relatively large outdoor seating area. This place also serves food, but I have yet to check out their menu(at some point I will). Overall, it’s a decent/good place to grab a beer with family/friends, especially when the weather is nice outside.

I’ve finally made it to this place despite it being less than a few minutes walk away from home. I went with a few friends and I was amazed at the amount of beers on tap. The inside is like a typical sports bar with plenty of seating. The best part about this place is the amount of seating available outdoors. By the time we arrived all of the outdoor seating was taken. I know they serve food but I didn’t look at the menu. We were just there for the drinks. The service was quick and I think this is definitely a great place to hang out with friends. The next time I go I will look at the menu and update this review.

Looked like a fun place, clean and 100’s of beers, yet no yuengling, Americas oldest brewery! Food, disgusting! No other words, cold sliders, shrimp pre-cooked, battered and cooked again. Pretzels giant, well presented and cold! Nothing a good chef could not fix! Trivia night was fun and well done.

By far the WORST service in the area. I have waited close to 30 minutes for a beer. Staff is extremely unfriendly and the prices are ridiculous

This place is awesome they have 8 cases of beer from all over world so like 1,000 beers and 50 on tap. No food but they can have other places deliver food to the bar. The place is relax they have live music on a stage above the bar. And endless choices. A chill place for a beer and hangout with friends

One reviewer stated that if you were a true beer lover, this would be your spot. Well, my wife and I are true beer lovers, and WoB is not really our type of «spot». We stopped by one evening to kill an hour before another meet-up. It was nice weather, so we opted for the patio. The patio. I know. Shoot me now. As with every patio dining/drinking experience in this area, the service was S-L-O-W and unresponsive. There was some weird sign taped to a window saying something about it being a private club, so I had to ask if they were going to tack on some silly ‘membership fee’ to circumvent a 19th century neo-Prohibitionist law the city or state had dreamed up in the last couple years. Apparently, there isn’t a fee and I never learned why they had this tacky, indecipherable announcement taped to the window. You have a place this big, on this corner and can’t offer food? They had a list of places — again, taped to the window — and a card at the table telling you where to call for delivery food — pizza and subs places. Since I’m no longer a college student, I don’t really find this option fun and unique. I find it annoying. Order a fancy Belgian farmhouse ale and sit waiting on your Jimmy John’s sub you had to order from your mobile phone. The beer was all priced at the top end of the spectrum to keep the lights on at this place. Our waiter was mostly uninterested in us, and when I thought she was finally coming out to check on us, she wandered over to some guy sitting on the patio and sat down to shoot the breeze. I had to interrupt her conversation with her gentleman friend to order a second beer. Yeah, they have lots of cool beers. After that, not so much.

We stopped by on a Monday afternoon about 30 minutes before they were set to open with a couple of out of town guests. We asked if we could at least step inside to show what WOB was like since they don’t have any WOB’s in San Diego. The manager came out and was totally cool about letting us in and said we could even order beer if we wanted. This location is clean and the space is well used. There is an outdoor area and cornhole boards set up. The beer selection is obviously really good. You can’t come here expecting to be at a small bottle shop type setup or even a small local brewery. This is a chain and it shows based on the atmosphere. 5 stars for ultra friendly staff, cool vibe inside and the promise of more hangouts here with cornhole AND live music! We had an excellent experience from staff letting us in early, having excellent beer knowledge and great conversation with the staff.

Great place for trying lots of beers. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable and nice– offered samples of beers if you are undecided and can give recommendations. Seating outside is very cool and inside is nice too. Great for weekend day drinking and not too crowded but not sure the scene at night. They don’t serve food but you can bring your own food in– the waiter actually told me they may get food soon, including wings, pretzels and other bar food. Will definitely have to come back to try it.
