Your contract is for 3 or 5 years.
You must give 30 days advance notice to cancel your contract BEFORE your contract ends.
Who will remember this at the end of 5 years? All companies know that trying to charge an early termination fee is not worth pursuing and normally waive this idiotic fee. VECTOR WILL NOT WAIVE THE EARLY TERM FEE. You will be charged a full year if you do not give this advanced notice.
They don’t care about you or their service that may or may not be working properly.
All they want is your monthly payment and to charge you $ 500 for a «yearly renewal» that is automatically tacked onto your service once the original contract term has ended. They have multiple BBB complaints in regard to this same issue and clearly state in each complaint that they don’t care and expect the $ 500 payment for service no longer being monitored.
STAY AWAY from Vector Security. You will be sorry if you ever enter a contract with this company.
I refuse to pay for a year of service that I do not want. Even if they send me to collections it will not be paid.
Most companies let you go in peace once your term is up. But Vector still goes for the kill by tacking on the automatic yearly renewal just to screw you out of 1 more year of payments. And does not care in the least if they send you to collections for a 1 year extension that they never should have charged to begin with.
Customer service will hang up on you when you call. Be prepared.
Save yourself the trouble and avoid this company.
