Love sassool honestly a bit more than the ‘sister’ restaurant of neomonde and since this one is closer for me :). So for the GF options they carry JOs pastries items(as does neomonde), but in sassool they proudly display the vendors name on a dedicated GF case so the GF know what they are getting. Food here is as good if not better and the restaurant looks newer/cleaner. Definitely a regular for me.

The food is very good. the store has great fresh cheese from Bulgaria. Their Chicken sandwiches are fantastic! Most of the people that work there are usually very pleasant. Except for one young women that’s there on the weekends. Just avoid her and you will have a pleasant experience. You can eat there or take out. Fantastic desserts– if you are too full. just take some with you.

Amazing food, wonderful ownership. After my mother had a bad experience with a server, the restaurant ownership handled the situation with incredible kindness. The food is always good, and given the ownership I’m sure that even if you were to have a negative experience(unlikely, as we’ve been customers at sister restaurant neomonde for years and have never had a bad time) ownership is very kind and engaged.

I eat here at least once a week. Everything I’ve ever had has been outstanding, but my go to is the Mediterranean chicken salad, mujadarha(lentils), and the cabbage delight. Meal includes freshly made pita, still warm from the oven. Reasonably priced, consistently delicious, friendly service, and casual, inviting atomosphere.

So I love Sassool however they are starting to go downhill. It started with the service hiring young kids and not properly training them. The lady at the register didn’t know a baklava came with the lunchbox combo and was about to double charge me for it. Also didn’t even know which was the orange baklava and had to ask another employee. Also had no clue what to punch in on the screen talking herself through it. On a different note I love their food it is really delicious however it is also beginning to slack on quantity of food. Just look at my chicken shawarma photos and you will see a pita hardly filled with chicken. It was pitiful. It used to be overflowing or at least enough to where there weren’t any gaps in the pita. I’m not sure if their attention has been placed on the new store in Cary but the Strickland road is falling behind!

Some of the best Mediterranean food I’ve had. We had the LARGEKABOBPLATTER with chicken and kafka kabobs with sides of lentil rice, falafels, and cilantro/jalapeño hummus. All excellent. The homemade pita is also fantastic. Top notch food and experience. I can’t wait to try something else off the menu.

Super fresh Mediterranean food and it is displayed in such a nice way that you can see the colorful salads and mezze items before you order. I would recommend a kabob platter with a few sides so you get a variety of meat and vegetables. Everything is made fresh and there is plenty of seating. You order, pay and then get a number to put on your table. The shop is also located next to the seating area and you can purchase all kinds of olive oils, cheeses, spices and Middle Eastern goods from all over. You can also purchase wine and beer and it is a great choice in the Six Forks area for fresh and healthy lunch or dinner.

Oh wow… this is really fun and trendy med food. Don’t be food by its a — la — carte style, because the food is just simply super fun and amazing. It might not be super authentic mediterranean, but it is super flavorful and well made. Oh and you can add Southern touch to it with sweet tea. We went in the evening, so there was even life music! Super exciting. Order the mince pies(more like good quality pizzas!) — they were delicious. Any hummus dish is also awesome. The only reason this place didn’t get a 5 because the live music was a little bit overly loud and awkwardly placed.

This is basically Neomonde. It opened under that name. I’m not sure why the name changed, but nothing else about the place seems different since the name change. Mostly this is going to be a cafeteria style eatery. The food is really fresh and delicious. They will also tempt you as you’re waiting in line to pay with a display case full of delicious baked goods and sweet confections. Give in to the temptation. It’s good stuff. They’ll ask if you want some fresh pitas with your order. Yeah, it’s an upsell, but it’s a good one. This is the source of the best pitas in town, and when you buy day old pitas from another store, they came from here when they were still fresh. Pro tip: check out their grocery section, with their bulk herbs get yourself a package of za’atar herbs, put a generous amount of za’atar on a small plate with your best olive oil and drag your fresh Sassool pitas through that herbal sludge. Thank me later. This is one of the real gems of north Raleigh, and it’s completely unpretentious. Definitely come check it out. If you’re trying to eat light, their salads are AMAZING.

This place is amazing. I’ll admit, when we stopped by, I didn’t really know anything except that Unilocalers loved it. Sassool is owned by the family that owns Neomonde and is like a combination Lebanese deli and market. You can order cafeteria-style from the hot or cold cases, or select from the menu. Everything comes with unlimited freshly baked pita. I had the veggie wrap, baba ghanouj, and tabouli, and I also tried some tzatziki and hummus from my husband’s plate. It was all excellent, especially the baba ghanouj. We bought some more to take home, as well as a bag of pita chips, and they gave us even more fresh bread. I can’t wait to come back here.

We go here specifically for the sweets/desserts. They usually have around two dozen or so give or take varieties of all types of goodies on display ready to go… Many traditional American favorites, as well as Middle Eastern treats you won’t find at too many other places here in Raleigh. The prices are decent… Quality of everything always seems to be fresh and yummy. Tried out some of the pita/sandwiches and those were not very good, but will have to give those another try another time. It does get busy around here I’ve noticed at times, with long lines and a bit of chaos all-around, so quality on the actual prepped foods may be hit or miss depending the time of day you are there.

There is a reason Sassoul consistently receives as many stars as it’s cousin Neomonde! You don’t mess with a good thing. Like mexican food, I can eat lebanese just about any night of the week, and the value for the huge plate of food you get is one I can’t beat. Usually, it’s enough to pick off of the next day as well. My favorites are their chicken salad and lentil dishes. This location also has an impression selection of gluten, dairy, and vegatarian desserts. I warn you though, you have to walk past these first and it makes it very hard with small children to get their order for fruits and veggies in.

This food is awesome! I love that as a vegetarian there are so many options and that for my vegan friends it’s also great. I have had so many things here. I’m a huge tzatziki fan. Nothing like some fresh from a wood burning oven pita bread with some hummus and some tzatziki. I have had the veggie lasagna, Baba Ghanoush, hummus, tzatziki, the falafel and the veggie burger. Don’t even get me started on the baklava. The chocolate mousse is divine. This particular tonight 8÷29÷15, it was slammed busy. The quality of food and service is never different. Everyone working there is so nice and helpful. I usually wait to review a place after going multiple times to increase the accuracy of my opinion. This place has been consistently fresh and delicious along with friendly service. Check it out!

In a word yummy. Falafel was yummy and fruit was fresh. I love Mediterranean food. There is also a market inside for other Mediterranean items. There are many gluten free options as well. I recommend the platter so you can sample at least four of those options. They also have gluten free cider available. This is a rather loud place. It’s loud even during no peak hours. The staff was friendly. They will answer any questions you have about the food.

Unreal! Delicious! I attended a wedding rehearsal dinner here. It was odd considering that it’s a sit down, fast casual restaurant. Couldn’t be happier with the food! While it doesn’t really support it, I can totally see why patrons have parties and celebrations here! I’m SO coming back if I’m in the area.

Lebanese Cafeteria and Grocery Store with a Large Comfortable Dinning Area! Beef Kabob was Pretty Good(medium Rare) nicely seasoned, NOT overly seasoned for sure Meat Pie is like a Pideler… My Bride Loved it ! I thought it was Good, not great! Puffy Pita that makes an EASY Pocket for Stuffing, seemed FRESH and the flavor was good Tzatziki with Chunks of Cucumber. Very Good Flavor(Mild) if it contains Garlic, it is only a hint, still Good enough to make my «Tzatziki Winners» Unilocal list and I’m rating it almost 4 Unilocal stars Tabbouleh was ok like 3 Unilocal stars Dessert DessertS: : : Dessert Case! Baklava Chocolate Chip Cookie(s) DENSE and Delicious! Consistently Fantastik! Easy to get these almost every time I’m here! Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownie This is a Tri-Layered Wonder… Be Careful with these, be very careful! How much weight do you want to gain? When I take one bite, I contemplate my Genetic Ceiling for fatness… Hard to resist! Very Difficult to share and right next to a Yoga Center… You don’t think? No!!! Maybe? Coffee : ” Arabic«Coffee made by the Cup AND(this is the Important Part if you want it sweet) ask them to make it Sweet and they will Brew the Sugar with the Coffee(this is like Turkish Coffee)! Or buy a Bag of Coffee and Brew it at Home For them to offer it by the serving is a little unusual for a Cafeteria style establishment! It is unusual enough that I made a Unilocal list

Hidden in one of North Raleigh’s many(many, many) bland and confusingly laid-out strip malls is a local gem for palate and pantry alike! If you’ve been to Neomonde, then you’ll already have an idea of the kind of foods available at Sassool — Mediterranean/Middle Eastern classics augmented by creative takes on tradition with a little something for everyone, be they a meat freak or a vegan. From hummus to a more innovative fig and mint pita pizza the choices run the gamut from filling meals to refreshing snacks, with plenty of options for dessert as well. Whether you want to pair flaky-crisp, sticky baklava with a little demitasse of coffee or relax with an elegant pastry, your pastry bases are covered here! They even have glutenless dessert options, should that sort of thing concern you. What takes it a step above its more established sibling restaurant, Neomonde, in my experience is the grocery selection, which on a recent visit not only had everything I couldn’t find earlier that same day in Neomonde but also had a few things we’ve been unable to find almost anywhere in Raleigh(including large containers of soy nuts, my husband’s top workday snack). Several varieties of za’atar were available along with numerous herbs and spices, dried fruits and nuts, packaged confections, sour cherries, assorted jams, pomegranate molasses, tinned fava beans, fresh breads, an olive bar, and so much more, all at prices which are very, very reasonable. We bought everything we needed to create an excellent feast at home! The restaurant itself can be very loud when it gets crowded, especially when the North Raleigh post-soccer-practice set descends, and navigating the checkout area can be a little confusing if you’re just buying groceries, but the queue for food moves quickly(provided you aren’t behind one of those people who spends ten minutes in line staring at the menu and then has no idea what they want once they reach the counter) and staff are quick to answer any questions. We decided on a fig & mint pizza to go on our last visit, and when we got to our destination and opened the box several friends leaned in to admire and ask where we’d bought it — it might sound like an odd combination of flavours, but it was certainly a winner! I don’t often bother venturing that far north of the Beltline but whether it’s a drive or a convenient neighbourhood stop, Sassool is definitely worth the trip.

Mmm! Wow! Ooo! Yes! I drool for Sassool! Some of my running group stopped in after a run to get the Ethnosh event’s $ 5 sampler plate at Sassool. It’s a cafeteria-style restaurant and market where you’ll find Neomonde’s super fresh pita bread, desserts, and more. It’s casual enough to stop in and grab a bite to eat while wearing spandex and a running hat. Inviting ambiance with charming family photos prominently displayed throughout with open seating areas and a beautiful dessert display case. Nice selection of gluten free desserts as well. The sampler plate included a fresh, tangy sweet kale salad with apples and either walnuts or pecans; hummus; toasted pita chips; quinoa; and roasted sweet potatoes. All delicious. My friends frequent both Sassool and Neomonde and they offered me a sample of the chicken salad with huge chunks of chicken. It was delicious. I also tried the baba ganoush… excellent as well. I’m drooling just thinking about the entire meal and I can’t wait to go back! Overall, a great little family owned store and restaurant where you can get a quick, delicious meal or pick up the ingredients to make your own!
