I’m writing this as a first time bingo player who was researching bingo halls before deciding to open a bingo place myself. I can honestly say I was very impressed by Penny, her husband, son and the staff. Not having any idea how to play bingo they went out of their way to help us and were as customer friendly as you could ask for. Like the previous reviewer, Stephen, my wife and I do not like to sit in a smoke environment however of the 6 – 7 places we’ve visited their smoke removal system was the best we have found. We favor smoke free. Bingo halls in N.C. do not generally have stellar reputations for comfort, customer service and family friendly but Penny’s is a credit to the industry and very well run. These are local friendly people who care about their customers. Penny even had a former Enloe High School secy. to the first principal at Enloe, George Kahdy and once she knew i was there even had her come greet and welcome us. She didn’t have to but she knew of my past from talking and went out of her way to make me feel at home. I would recommend trying Penny’s Bingo.

Just keep in mind this review is coming from a guy who doesn’t play a lot of bingo and doesn’t mind smoke filled rooms. We came here on a whim on a Sunday night just to get out of the house, and hey, try to win some money! Scott(the owner) and his wife(Penny) were UNBELIEVABLY nice… I mean they gave us each free daubers and Bonanza cards(which we ended up using to win 100 $!!!) and they actually sat and helped up before and during play… Which was good because the games are quite fast paced and can be confusing at times. Anyway we payed 8 $ a person, and could have played for 4 hours if we wanted to(not playing the bonus games or extras remember), but we ended up leaving after 10 games instead of staying for all 15 for one simple reason… The Smoke. It’s a 5,000 square foot facility that had about 50 people playing, and probably 20 were smoking… My wife is 5 months pregnant, and we were not very happy with this… Now again I am a smoker(trying to quit) so it wasn’t TERRIBLE for me, but I would say it could be a problem if your against 2nd hand… All-in-all we payed $ 16 to play for 3 hours, won $ 100, and really had fun talking to Penny and our«Bingo neighbors». I will probably go back on my own time! Quick FYI, it’s 18 and over only.
