Just went here a few days ago to find out they are permanently closed. The food was very good. While I know this used to be Miami Subs, it seems as though the food was just as good. The chicken pita and chicken wings were a crowd favorite as the wings were huge and the sauce was delicious. Not sure why they closed but I will definitely miss this place.

Stopped by for the first and last time tonight. It was convenient to my location and I needed supper for my 2 kids. I was less than impressed. I ordered a full size Italian sub for 5.99(a good price) with half plain and half with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and olives. I was informed that they could not make half of my sub differently than the other half or they would have to charge me 3.99(the price of a six inch) for each half. Essentially, they are saying that in order for me to get the full size price, they would rather me order the full size sub with all of the toppings then wastefully throw half of the toppings away because one of my kids wants her half plain. They ultimately did make the sub as I requested but were quick to tell me they would not do it again even though their website states«We use the freshest ingredients and prepare every meal to order, exactly the way you like it.» Subway makes my 12 inch with toppings on half and the other half plain for us all the time, and that is where we will have to take our business next time since they can’t prepare it «exactly the way we like it.» Incidentally, the kids said Subway tastes better anyway.

This place is amazing! Literally the only downside is that service is slow. However, this is only due to the fact that everything is made to order. Today I had the chicken pita which was really good. The chicken was flavorful and you could tell it had just come off the grill. Fries are also really good. For a pita sandwich, fries, and a drink I spent less than $ 7 which i would say is good considering the food quality.

I use to work at Miami Subs when I was a teen. This place has kept almost all of the original menu and recipes. I was so excited to get the cheese steak and my husband loves the wings. The place is a little old but clean. All the food is made to order so its fresh and hot. Nice alternative to other fast food places.

Great place to eat on a late night run when nothing else is open. I ordered the deluxe steak sub combo and it is nothing short of great. If you’re tired of eating McDonald’s every night, go to New Bern Subs.

New burn subs aka Miami subs when it was located in garner was always a favorite Friday night go to for many years. i personally don’t know why they moved to new burn avenue but i really wish they would have stayed. I will say the food itself was just as good as i remember, the cheese steak with«the works«is my absolute favorite. but the service was lackluster to say the least, almost down right rude really! …we walked in and we were totally ignored for about 10 mins while being walked passed about two time, not acknowledged what so ever. so we finally get someone to take our order we were greeted with the very aggressive statement of «these customers are messing me up !»…my girlfriend and i just kinda looked at each other and continued to order. i of course got the cheese steak with the works and she got the chicken wings. as i said the food was pretty good and flavor is just how i remember it being, but the horrible service really killed it for me. i can say i am in not hurry to return to new burn subs and if i do im hitting the drive-thru.

I have been here several times and it’s pretty impossible to predict what the food will be like. The menu ranges from Greek gyros and pitas, to burgers and fries, to wings and steak sandwiches. Some visits the food has been average and others, it’s been pretty subpar. The service is complacent at best but more often perturbed that you don’t want onions on that sandwich… I’m still looking for a go to place near my work; sadly New Bern Subs is not it.

The honey buffalo wings are my favorite!!! Grilled is what I prefer. They cook them when you order so it may take a while, but definitely worth the wait!!! For the price I have no complaints. I order these wings for my parties whenever I don’t feel like grilling myself and my guest never complain. Not too saucy, to me they’re just right!!!

Delicious! I ordered the cheese steak with fries– so good! The food is cheap, my combo meal was only $ 6.49, they serve subs, wings and also wraps. I’ll def go again.

I’ve had take-out through the drive-thru several times. Beware, the drive-thru convenience they offer does not at all mean that the service is fast. Expect to wait at least 10 minutes if no cars are in front of you. On the plus side, everything is cooked to order, and very fresh and hot. It’s worth the wait if you have the time. The cheesesteaks are decent, but not great. The gyros(chicken pita) are my go-to order. Love the cucumber sauce. Not a fan of the battered fries. Overall, for late-night eats, you can’t go wrong; they’re open until 2am.

Real bad service, the manager on night duty doesn’t even take her job seriously. I tried to place an order and they wonld’t explain their sauce nor tell me the type of drinks they had. Instead they had a nasty attitude and were very childish.

Ok I’m not sure how this place has such good reviews. A while back I stopped here on my way to an appointment and had the so called philly cheese steak which in my humble opinion should be renamed to the NC cheese steak. For a compare and contrast Philly uses fresh ingredients this place used what tasted like caned mushrooms, pre frozen cheese steak kind of like those steak-umps and no wiz. Really! Not a cheese steak without wiz plus why would you not use amoroso bread?

Beats going to the mcdonalds up the hill. This place is a little dumpy. Random tropical murals on the wall. No napkins to be found anywhere. Large handwritten sign behind the counter saying to put the mop back when done. The Philly cheesesteak was limp and tame. Fries were good. The cashier was friendly. They could use work on their presentation. This place suffers an identity crisis.

Best wing spot in Raleigh, hands down! I got the honey buffalo and not only was the sauce AMAZING, my wings were still hot when I opened the box(to-go order) — what a great surprise for fast food! The fries were really good too! Will definitely be coming back more often.

Quick, friendly, simple, good food. Saw high rating during a quick Unilocal ‘nearby’ search after meeting in area and decided to try it. Glad I did.

I recently got a new job and this is one of the lunch spots that has been close to my work that I will miss. The restaurant is very clean and the people working here are fast and friendly. For what it is, the prices cannot be beat and since I discovered this spot, I have been back several times. The location itself does not bother me and I have never felt unsafe here at lunch time. I’ve tried the chicken philly but my favorite thing here is the turkey sub combo — the price for this is just over $ 5, and this includes fries(seasoned) and a drink. I think this is a good deal, considering you would pay more than this for a turkey sub combo across the street at Subway. The bread that the sandwich comes on is soft and fresh and you can either have your sandwich hot or cold. I like the sub to be hot — and it is a really got sandwich with turkey, cheese, spices, lettuce, tomato, onions and mayo. They also have a variety of other choices including burgers, gyros, subs and of course wings. I have not tried the wings myself, but heard that they are pretty good. This is definitely a good, inexpensive spot for a quick lunch on the go. I would recommend it.

Decent Food, Great Value… but the location is a little sketchy Solid little burger and sub shop! Cheeseburger, fries, and a large drink just $ 6 total — not a bad deal at all. Burger was very good, and the bun was toasted perfectly. The food is cooked to order(unlike fast food joints). Service is therefore a little on the slow side, but that is to be expected. Rather interesting jungle/tropical paint theme on the walls — I thought it was a nice touch. Sanitation score was 99% — which is fantastic. Great place to grab a bite! As a side note, this is a pretty sketchy part of town. I am 6’1 and weigh 290lbs… but I would not want to be there after dark…

Anyone remember back in the 90’s and a bit of early 00′ there was a franchise MIAMISUBS? You know, that neighborhood fast grill restaurant place with somewhat decorations of tacky colors like teal and green and pink together? They didn’t go away. They just changed management. This is one of them. For me, what make this little niche awesome is the opportunity to be hungry past midnight and have somewhat of a free choice on munchies, as opposed to Taco Bell’s «Fourth Meal» or dollar menu from Mickey D’s. If I want a gyro pita, I got it; if I want grilled hot wings with fries, I got it; if I want chicken Philly cheesesteak, I got it; if I want to be a vegetarian after 12:30AM, I got it! By the way, your order comes with crinkle fries. I heart crinkle fries.

We were on our way to an appt at Wake Med and had about 45 minutes to kill so we decided to grab lunch. We knew we didn’t want the typical McD’s or BK and lots of the other«fast food» places looked a little sketchy. We finally decided on New Bern Subs since it looked good on the outside. Not run down and grimey, like lots of the other places on New Bern. At first glance the interior looked a bit 80s… lots of teal and purple, but we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness… from the floors to the counters. The fellow behind the counter was super nice and described the items we asked about. We both chose the greek veggie pita and my son got the kids chicken finger meal. Both were awesome. Nice and fresh, and the pita was nice and soft. The chicken fingers were great too. Not the typical frozen nuggets that you get everywhere. The chicken had a great battered coating and they were cooked perfectly. The fries that came with both meals were coated. Not my favorite, but they certainly weren’t bad by any stretch of the imagination. I just wish this was closer to home because we’d definitely eat here all the time.
