Down to the last three scoops in the 12oz bag of Cowboy Blend this is the finest coffee !! Described as bold, smoky, wide-bodied & brusque I’m headed to The Fresh Market in Hendersonville, NC this afternoon to buy another bag. Try it. It’s fabulous !!

Years ago, a fellow art student turned me on to Larry’s Beans, most importantly their commitment to being a sustainable business(shade grown, fair trade). I didn’t have super high expectations of taste, but MAN this stuff is good. I have yet to get a roast from them I don’t like. Also, one of the main reasons why my friends like UNC hospital over Duke hospital– UNC has larrys beans, Duke has some other swill. Keep on roasting awesome coffee!

This is a great coffee roaster located in the Raleigh North Carolina area. It’s very close to my house and I can walk there and get a pound of coffee, much cheaper than I would pay in the store. They also have a cool bus that runs on used vegetable oil. The staff is very helpful can help guide your decision on which type of coffee to drink. They also serve cold brew coffee which is amazing for mixing in alcohol drinks or when you’re rushed in the morning.

I’ve always been a fan of Larry’s Coffee, so I was pleased to find an excute to stop by their warehouse/roastery on Gavin Street in Raleigh one day. The warehouse doors were open, so I just walked in. They have a small selection of coffee to buy wholesale, and a fridge of their cold-brewed coffee. The mini shop inside of their warehouse has a great selection(some roasts that are harder to find at coffee shops that sell their beans) and the guys working there were really friendly.

Excellent, locally-roasted coffee, available in various retail locations and restaurants in the Triangle area and beyond. Larry puts a premium on sustainability and has been nationally recognized for this commitment. And he doesn’t treat decaf drinkers like myself as second-class citizens — they put just as much love and care into their«unleaded» beans as they do in the regular stuff. It feels great to support a locally-owned business, and one that truly makes an effort to minimize its environmental impact, but at the end of the day, the best part is you’re paying for reasonably-priced coffee that’s just about the best you can get.

I discovered Larry’s Beans coffee at Earth Fare last year and have been hooked ever since. Super Fresh, great variety, whimsical label designs and names, but most of all — delish! Yesterday I attended a free tour of their roasting biz and it was a blast. Not only did we learn all about the coffee, but sooo much more! The owners Larry & Kevin provide a wonderful festive atmosphere complete with a Klezmer band that played throughout. It was a nippy morning and what could be better then warm coffee, several varieties, in fact. Since they’re very environmentally conscious we used real mugs. Nice way to keep our hands warm too! You will be amazed at what they’re doing there — they have thought of absolutely everything! I don’t want to give too much away, but you MUST go to a tour! They are only offered twice a year, in the Spring and Fall, but it is so worth it! They are the most generous and gracious hosts who really love people. You can tell that everyone who works there really LOVES it! I love Larry’s Beans even more now! They even made a blend in honor of Kitty Kinnin, DJ at 100.7 and is it ever smooth! Check out this cool video: and read this great article about them: Try the coffee and get on down for a tour!

Very talented roasters — I haven’t had a bean from them that I didn’t like. They’re ‘secret’ espresso is amazing… and as long as it’s brewed on a quality espresso machine that’s properly calibrated, it’s the best I’ve ever had. I love that they are stand-up people with a passion for helping the farmers they work with. They do occasional trips to the farms they harvest from, and if you wanna go with them, they welcome you along for the ride(as long as you pay your way of course). Very open with their business model. They’re a place you can trust, appreciate, enjoy and cheer for. I tend to only frequent coffee shops that serve Larry’s!

I would say that larry’s beans roasts and sells the best coffee I have ever tasted. They also run a great, ethical local business so my hat is off to them.

I am a huge, huge fan of Larry’s Beans. There is nothing negative for me to say… well except that it’s harder for me to find it now that I live in DC, but that’s my fault for leaving Raleigh! Even after relocating, Larry’s Beans is still all the coffee I want. So I am THRILLED to be able to order it online. I don’t think the staff could be any friendlier/more competent than they are. When I place an order, it usually ships that very day and is on my doorstep within 2 days after that, sometimes accompanied by a nice little personalized note thanking me for my order. I seriously couldn’t be any more pleased. For my most recent order, I received a voicemail informing me that they had intended to ship the order out that day, but the beans were still roasting so they would get it out the next. It doesn’t get much better than that! If it’s not obvious yet, Larry’s Beans holds a very special place in my heart… I’m a customer/fan for life!

Hip coffee roasters with a major thing for the environment. It seems like everything they do is run on biodiesel and solar. The coffee is really good, it’s all super fairtrade(or direct trade, I’m not sure what they’re exact practices are), and it now comes in biodegradable(even in a landfill) bags… which, in case you are unaware, is awesome beyond imagining.

Larry’s Beans is a local coffee roaster in the triangle area supplying coffee beans to most of the independent coffee shops around as well grocery stores like the Whole Foods. Larry’s runs all their business eco-friendly style and out of this warehouse in west Raleigh. I think that since they tend to do coffee on a small scale 9as compared to Starbucks who does it on a BIG scale) their beans tend to be much better. If you’ve never tried them before I HIGHLY suggest picking up a cup of coffee at Third place or a bag on beans at Whole foods and giving them a try, you’ll be glad you did. Their beans are also used in Big Boss’s coffee stout every winter. Check it out during the winter month’s…yum!
