This Dickey’s location is very well maintained overall and the staff is as friendly as can be. Service is always fast, and the food is yummy… Almost always have to get a box to go because it’s a lot to get in on one shot, for me at least :) Portions are bigger than most other places and will be appreciated for a full blown lunch or dinner. Menu isn’t huge though, as they apparently stick to their traditional good ol’ favorites from over the years. I’m not sure if Dickey’s is considered Southern type food or Texan. But whatever it is, they do it right and one of the best places to «dine on a budget» and never leave hungry.

There’s plenty of selection in the Raleigh area for good barbecue. Dickeys is pretty bland by comparison. The site on Glenwood is fairly new, and the staff seem easily confused. I ordered online and received an error«please try again or call the store.» I went to the store, found out I was charged twice. It took time to convince them that I had only wanted one order, and after some delay, they finally gave me my food and then began attending to the next customer. I had to remind them I was owed a refund. The individual at checkout hit some buttons, then said he believed he cancelled it but had no receipt or form of confirmation. I stated I would follow up with my credit card company. Upon arriving home, I found they’d forgotten to include part of my order. At this point, I’m counting my losses and don’t plan to return.

Not the best BBQ I’ve ever had, but it was okay at best. I ordered the 2 meat plate(brisket & pulled pork) with coleslaw, fries and a drink for $ 15. They were light on the meat. The brisket was cut against the grain and stringy with lots of fat. The pork looked like yesterdays left overs, on the cold side and full of fat. I’ve had dickys once before in Florida and I wasn’t impressed there either. I guess I’ll just stick to the places I know that are good. The free ice cream was nothing to brag about. I came during lunch and it had a steady trickle of customers, the line moved rather slowly which was kind of annoying since I had a toddler with me.

I would avoid this restaurant. The food was below average, nothing like the pictures on the wall. Brisket picture showed a blackened brisket being sliced into slices. What was served was a small mound of stringy and fatty brisket. The ribs didn’t have much flavor. I was 20 minutes late for the senior special. The helper was willing to give me the special but the manager denied it. :(The décor is rather sparse and sterile. Just read another review. Free ice cream??? They didn’t even offer it. It is true they did have a wide selection of sauces and they were good.

Meant to eat there many times but never stopped. Ordered thru 919 Dine from work and now I am sorry I didn’t stop in sooner. Good brisket, the onion strands are great and hushpuppies are good, plus very generous portions. Not the best but certainly well worth the money. I will definitely be eating there again. Would be 4 stars for the food, but giving 5 because good food with a good price is appreciated.

Dickey’s is the place to go for quick, affordable bbq when you’re near Walmart. It’s not the best in the world, but they are generous in their portions and have a wide selection to choose from. The place is never busy and the staff are friendly. The real bonus? Free ice cream for dessert?

I thoroughly enjoyed my food here. The staff is what makes what would be a 3 star rating become a 4 star rating. I got the brisket and sausage. The brisket was slightly dry, however my sausage was yummy. The Carolina bbq sauce was my favorite. The staff was very friendly and made small talk(I’m not usually a talker). For $ 11 I got enough food to feed me and my parents. Pros : Reasons price. Tasty. Nice staff. Quick Cons: the potato salad was really mushy I will go back !

I probably come here once a week. They have good specials during the week, and I always get Brunswick stew as my sides and have that for lunch the next day. The staff is great too. Love this place– especially this location.

Extremely disappointed in this Dickey’s location. Cary location is 10x’s better. Let’s start with lack of hush puppies with your meal. This Dickey’s must be hurting for dough because they’ve cut back on everything. No giant pickles, only one cup for BBQ sauce, no bowls for ice cream, etc. I’m surprised I didn’t have to pay for silverware. Don’t believe I’ll be visiting this location again anytime soon unless they get their pork butts together.

Great food for a good value! The Jalapeño Sausage and the pulled pork with the original sauce is the way to go. The people are great as well. They are super friendly and helpful.

I eat here, I was surprised at how good it was. I’m from Texas and this is pretty damn close. Had ribs and brisket, outstanding.

Just okay. A nice alternative for a take away night. Clean interior friendly staff. Food is tasty but nothing special. I found it quite expensive and dare I say dull?

I love their brisket, sides and big yellow cups! The staff were really helpful and took care of me and my family. This was my son’s first visit and the staff made it a good experience for him.

I love their pulled pork and beef brisket here! My husband is from Texas and he’s glad Dickeys BBQ has finally come to NC. The quality of the food has been consistently good– no complaints here. If you want BBQ other than the vinegar-based kind you get down East NC(which I love too), this is a great place to go. They have 4 different BBQ sauces — most are tomato-based, but they do have the NC style, which is the vinegar based sauce(that’s my fave). And– save some room for the free vanilla ice cream!

Very similar to red hot and blue. If you’ve ever been there. Good selection of smoked meats. Also they have a large selection of side dishes. Very casual lots of sauces. Bring a bib or an apron. Not a typical super cheap barbecue place in the back of a service station etc. But I think a fair price for the portions and the quality.

Decent enough barbecue for a chain. The Polish sausage was pretty good and the sides are kind of tasty. Nothing extraordinary and I wouldn’t seek it out, but it’s a good quick lunch if you’re in the area.

I had the pulled pork, potato salad, fried okra, and brisket. The best thing was the brisket. It was very tender, and there wasn’t a lot of fat. However, the potato salad was very unappetizing. It was very liquidy, and not very chunky. There just wasn’t anything that I tried that was memorable.

They’re food is consistently good across all of their locations. This time they messed my order up for the first time ever. When I brought it back, they quickly corrected it with no problems. I’ll keep coming back for their great food & even better customer service.
