Stopped in here at the advice of a few locals. I got an Italian sub(warmed), husband got a philly steak and our son got a ham & cheese calzone. First bite and all I could think was where the heck did they get this bread?! Christ it’s good. This is not your average sub bread, most of which are very chewy. This was crisp and soft at the same time. Where dey do dat at? According to the menu its some sort of New York thing. I usually don’t like Yankee stuff but this was really good. The calzone(medium) is huge. Big enough for two to three people to share. I’ve had better calzones, but I’d at least say there’s value in this one. As far as the subs we got. I enjoyed my Italian(I don’t think you can mess that up), but my husband thought something was missing from his and I agreed. I guess it’s more of a NY S&C verse a Philly style and after having a real Philly, nothing quite does the trick anymore. Overall, it’s a good little hole in the wall, decent service, moderate prices, pretty good flavor.

While driving from NC back home after a wedding, the hubby and I were in dire need of something greasy and delicious. Troys definitely hit the spot! Its only about 5 mins from the interstate and really easy to get to. The interior could use some love, and the bathroom kind of gave me the willies: /BUT the food made up for it. We both got cheesesteaks and shared some onion rings. Bread was toasted perfectly and loaded. Onion rings were fresh and crispy. Worth the stop!

Ordered out for a Philly chicken and onion rings… Delicious never had a chicken philly the guy who took my order recommended it over the Philly cheese steak so worth it and best onion rings!!!

Tried this place for the first time at lunch yesterday. Ordered a 12-inch cheesesteak and a side of fries. Fries were fresh and crisp, bread was yummy and steak was cheesy. Make sure to get it with onions, peppers, and mushrooms. As for the building itself, the interior was lackluster and not as clean as it could have been. Staff were alright, but not outgoing. That’s fine. The food is what counts, right?

The décor is a little lacking but the cheese steak made up for it. Amazing cheese steaks!!!

I grew up eating Troy’s and my son has too. The only problem is deciding on philly cheese steak or calzone! Heck, have both!

If you rate this place less than 4 stars… your taste buds are broken! I just had the Philly Steak sub and it was delicious. I love that they grill all the ingredients together and those are the quintessential ingredients meat, cheese, onions and a bit of tomato! A good cheesesteak must be greasy, cheesy, and chopped up! They have hit all the points and put it on a good soft bun! Don’t waste your time on the 6 inch… you’ll just go back for the other half later.

Dinner on the go Tuesday the 12th — I had seen a menu at my work breakroom and liked the selection. I ordered the traditional style Philly Steak — which exceeded my expectations. Flavor, texture, certainly the overflowing quantity — IMO excellent value and a welcome alternative to Subway. Makes my NRV short list as worth going out of my way for :)

Best Subs in the area. Try Turkey or Cheese Steak. They deserve your business. The baguette is half the battle. They get this. If you want a «sub» on wonderbread, subway is nearby.

I have been eating these cheese steak subs for years. If I’m ever in the area I don’t miss up the chance to stop in here for some grub. If you love cheese steaks you will absolutely love this place. It’s hands down the best cheese steak I’ve ever had! It’s juicy and you’ll need a spork to eat it because all of the meaty goodness will be overflowing. They cook all of the meat, cheese, onions, peppers, mushrooms, lettuce, and tomatoes together. It makes for one huge glob of goodness that would make a tadpole slap a whale! I’m so glad that I don’t live nearby because I’d be in here chowing down daily! Troy, can you airmail me a cheese steak?
