Great restaurant, fresh food and superb staff. Don’t miss whiskey Wednesdays. Try the alligator cheesecake, nothing quite like it.

This is a great place. I was in Quincy on business and just wanted to relax with a good meal. Saw this place on Unilocal and took a chance. Derek the bartender/waiter was very helpful and explained everything on the menu as well as all the specials. I had the pork chop which had to be 4 inches thick and extremely tender. Enough for 2 more meals. Definitely will be back.

This is one of the best restaurants in Quincy. I miss it when I am away. Every entrée they serve is carefully crafted and full of flavor. I love their soups and order one almost every time. Their appetizers are delicious, too. The staff clearly cares about their business and their patrons. I look forward to the next time I’m home and able to dine there with my family.

Was not expecting this high quality food in Quincy. Although there are solid restaurants and eating establishments in Quincy this is the type of food you only find in large metro areas. Diffrence takes on your childhood meals that will for sure take you by supprise. Top Notch!!!

The absolute worst dining experience ever. Two and a half hour wait, food was absolutely aweful… would not recommend to anyone.

My spouse and I love going to the Maine Course when we have an opportunity. There is consistent variety to their menu that demonstrates originality with great flavor. The chicken spring roll, for example, is a delicious appetizer that is individually sized and plated nicely. At one point in time there was a table selection of four different salts, and yes there is a difference! The French press coffee and desert are also favorites of mine. I have been here for lunch and dinner both and have always received delicious food and excellent service. If you are wanting a unique menu that shows the chefs ability and an intimate dining experience, I am certain you won’t be disappointed with the Maine Course.

The Maine Course was an extraordinarily pleasant surprise. I live just outside of DC and this is one of best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at! Wow! My husband, son and I ate lunch here, having the bean stew with goose, YUM. Fresh trout with Bok choy and cauliflower crème. We came back for dinner the following night. My son had filet of beef, salt rubbed, divine. My hubby had a chicken spring roll like nothing you’ve ever had before. A must! An two salads, the Greek and the Apple salad. I had the sweet pea«Alfredo» pasta — loaded with fresh veggies. I had them cut the pasta in half and add more veggies. Oh yes! We were commenting, no wishing that there was something, anything that was even close to this quality if food in our area. If you are ever in Quincy, Illinois you should make it a point to eat at The Maine Course and also 2thirty4. Both absolutely fabulous and no I am not related nor am I being paid.

What a find, I was driving down Maine street and saw tables and chairs outside this place and decided to stop. The best decision I’ve made today I ordered the chicken spring rolls and beef on a bed of mashed potatoes — the food was cooked to perfection, the chicken succulent, moist, the beef(medium rare) was so tender it would melt in your mouth I had a sangria to drink, this was so so(that’s why they got 4 stars) Check it out, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed

Tasting menu is fun especially when they custom pair scotch instead of wine for you. Fish special is usually fabulous. Risotto and soup of the day are unique and a solid pick for me every time we visit. Dessert has been getting better, more options and creativity.

This is a good restaurant, not much for décor. I think they try a little too hard. The food is a little too over the top. We have been there for lunch and dinner, I ordered salmon for lunch. Very small portion served plain on a plate. No greens or anything. I left hungry. My companion had the burger which was topped with duck confit. Who needs that on top of burger that has enough grease in it already. They did make their own ketchup and the fries were good. Dinner, again, good food that is pushed a little too far. The prices are a bit high for the area. Seems like the chef has watched a little too much Food Network TV. If they simplified the food a bit and increased the portion size I would be willing to try again.

Generally pretty good meals here considering it’s quincy. Nice interior design and ambience. downside: Salads are tiny, food is on the blander side. My concern is that it Costs as much as much much better food at a four star restaurant in a major city. The value just isn’t there. There’s a couple places with better value in Quincy: 2thirty4, Thyme Square, and Tiramasu.

Very unique menu. Recently updated for 1 year anniversary. Service is very good & prices reasonable. Good wine selection & homemade deserts change every week.

Food was good but a little under seasoned. The service was by far the best in town. Ran out of a lot of food items. I would definitely give it another chance and would probably get 5 starts. Just wasn’t a fan of the items they had that night.

The Maine Course, at the time of this review, is by far the best restaurant for dinner in Quincy. The chefs, Kevin and BIll, are of a high enough caliber to work in any city in the U.S. The staff and kitchen go above and beyond to meet customer requests — often making custom dishes to satisfy dietary requirements or special occasions. The food is a unique take on American cuisine, utilizing modernist cooking techniques not typically found in small town dining experiences. If time and budget permit the tasting menu alongside the wine pairings is the best option, particularly for groups.

I like to champion myself as a foodie and I had high expectations for this place. I decided to have lunch there(which may be why my food wasn’t great,) I ordered the Duck Liver Pâté, «Philly» Cheesesteak and an order of fries. The Pâté didn’t have great flavor. It wasn’t seasoned well and the description didn’t mention that Ahi Tuna came with the pâté(which I despise.) Ok, so I wasn’t quite disappointed yet, I just felt that I made an error in judgement when I decided to try the pâté. Next was my Philly Steak sandwich and fries. I asked for the meat to be medium rare, it was medium well, if not well. The Philly had zucchini and onion and was also flavorless. It was dying for a little salt and pepper. All that I tasted was cheese. The meet had no flavor whatsoever. This is where I became disappointed. Lunch items should be a breeze for a restaurant that has a seemingly good chef. Maybe I’ll try the dinner next time…

Everything there was amazing. I don’t think you can order anything there that won’t knock your socks off. We tried the chicken and pork entrée’s and they were both amazing. The spring roll appetizer was super tasty and the deserts we tried, clove and beet crème brûlée and meyer lemon cheesecake, were to die for.

This place knocked my socks off! Everything was pure pleasure and so enjoyable. Very soothing and comfy décor inside. Tables are spaced comfortably and you do not feel squished into the next table. Portions were perfect size and very reasonable. This allowed you to enjoy multiple courses. A wine list full of choices that are reasonably priced. The roasted grape risotto was prepared to perfection just the right bite and so creamy. Grilled Caesar was a distinctive blend of a smoky grill flavor and the tanginess of the dressing. Salt crusted beef tenderloin was perfectly medium, so moist and tender. The best part of all was perfectly cooked broccoli none of this half raw/half cooked crap. The bacon bourbon butter hamburger was so tasty without any one taste shocking the taste buds. The crisp of the char, smoky bacon and onions were perfect together. The desserts sounded wonderful but unfortunately, I was just too full and too tired from traveling 5 hours from chicago. This place of a must on the a things to do in Quincy list…

Also see The Maine Course. I dont why there are two entries for one restaurant. This is, without question, the best restaurant in town. There’s not a bad item on the menu. The vegetable wellington is to die for. The fish and beef dishes are great. A Quincy must! Great atmosphere, well decorated, unique menu. Refreshing and just in time for a great revival in downtown Quincy.
