It’s convenient with a quick drive. Most of the time, I go right in the morning so everything is warm and fresh. Pretty standard Chinese bakery. I enjoy seeing the owner and the girl that works there, they are used to having frequent and local customers so they remember you. Although everyone says the owner is pushy, I say she just knows how to sell. It’s a business, of course she is going to try to sell you more than you went there for. I don’t mind it, I get to try something new or just tell her no thanks. No big deal people! The place is fairly clean, a bit of seating. Price isn’t too bad, compared to other places that you would want to grab breakfast or lunch. The taste of the food is okay. I love the way bakeries make jook(rice porridge). I’ve tried a good amount of their items like jook, hot dog bao, sponge cake, pineapple bun, big bun, sticky rice, rice noodles, ham sui gok. I’ll continue to come here to support the small local business.

Tastes okay but the lady — I guess she is the owner is always too push when you buy their pastries. She tries to sell everything and recommend every single item and pushes you to buy more when you don’t want to.

I’m giving them a negative star for mistreating a customer. This morning was my second visit to this bakery. I really wanted to give them a chance but they failed miserably. I grabbed a coconut cream bun and it was mostly bun and no cream– so that was a fail. Second fail? While waiting in line, the woman behind the counter berated an elderly man for paying with too many pennies. apparently this upset her so much that she repeated herself multiple times to which he did not respond. she asked her coworker if he was deaf or if he understood her due to his lack of response. I think he was taking the higher ground or just ignoring the troll. I give him credit. All in all they are nasty and their baos aren’t anything to write home about.

The food quality of this place is very disappointing. The items are a bit pricey compare to other Chinese bakeries. I bought some youtiao(Chinese cruller/fried breadstick) today. The traditional youtiao should be a long puffy strip but what I got was some short«deformed» fried dough. A few week ago I bought some egg tarts from them and the custard literally shrank after a few hours. This place really loves to give surprise to their customers. By the way their service is not pleasant. There’s a pushy girl with glasses who keeps repeating«Do you want anything else» Other employees always say the buns are delicious but can never tell what kind of fillings are inside. The only pro is the bakery’s location. It’s close to the T and highway so it’s convenient for working people.

The baos are just OK. I have tried the egg tart, melon cake, spongecake, pineapple bun, mantao bun, hot dog bao, and rice noodle rolls. If you go right when the food is made, you’re gold. However, I rarely pop in at those moments, so my food doesn’t taste that fresh. Service is prompt, but pushy. They constantly ask me whether I would would like to add x baos. They have 3 for 1 pineapple bun deals come the afternoon.

I like this place. My wife and I usually drop by here for milk tea and some baos when we’re in town to visit my mom. I like the Char Siu Bao(roast pork bun) and Nai Wong bao(custard with pineapple bun). It’s definitely better made than anything I get in Boston Chinatown. And my wife is usually picky about her baos because she’s used to lot of options back in her home town and she approves of this place, so that’s saying something. I grew up in Quincy and this is the first time I feel that one of these Chinese bakeries has gotten it right like they do in SF and NYC.

Good selection of baked goods, reasonable prices and friendly staff. I’ve been here a few times and my favorite items are the light cheesecake and sliced raisin bread. I don’t normally like raisins, but I like their bread! The cheesecake texture and taste is similar to Japanese style, very light and almost spongy which is more yummy than it sounds. However, in terms of most of their pastries and buns, it does not match the quality and taste of Crown Royal(just a few blocks away). Although items look good, something in the taste just seems off. I give them 3.5 stars and rounded up to 4 with the hope that they can improve.

The raisin bread(sliced) is better than Crown Royal. It is moist and less dry. The pineapple bun is pretty light, but the topping falls off easily after a bite. The beef stuffed noodles were alright, but not something that I will buy again. The beef was overwhelmed by the amount of noodle and slightly mealy. Service was on the eager side with the lady trying to sell you more of everything.

Just OK. Had a coconut tart which was supposedly«fresh». It was luke warm and just ok. I also got a taro roll, some jook(rice soup), a sponge cake, and a soy bean drink from the fridge. The taro roll again was just ok. The rice soup was very good, as was the sponge cake. They didn’t make the drink so I won’t review it. There isn’t much space to sit and no public bathroom. The display of everything is really pretty. Overall it seems like a very standard Chinese bakery, just new. As I don’t go to Quincy a lot, I probably won’t be back. There are far higher quality Chinese bakeries in Chinatown in Boston, or if I am in Quincy, other better ones in Quincy. Oh, cash only btw.

UPDATE: So after having the other items, I will say that some items were good, while others were average. I quite liked their individual sponge cakes. What’s dampened my enthusiasm though is that the lady who helped me today botched my iced lemon tea. I bought a cup of tea(clearly $ 2) and two of the cakes that had no price. I could have sworn I only paid less than a dollar per cake last time, but she charged by 5.35 total. That’s 3.35 for two cakes making them a 1.63 per piece. Are you crapping me? She could have overcharged but their lack of price tags on their items makes it hard to dispute. In any case — they’re good but not at twice the price of what all the other bakers sell them for. I think I’ll stick to the competition next time.

I’ve been here twice since it opened. The staff is nice and friendly. The place is clean and pastries are packaged nicely. It’s a hit or miss– when the pineapple buns are right out of the oven they are awesome. The HK style hot milk tea was on par as well and I’m pretty picky with my milk tea– very few places in Boston make it good.

I wish I can really like this place. I’m still giving it some time. For now I will have to re-rate it 3 stars. This place has potential given the variety of items that they offer — which I think can also be a detriment to them. One of those cases, trying to do too much while failing to execute them well. Also, turnover of goods seems to be questionable — one occasion buns taste stale(ie old). People are friendly, items look pretty and well packaged but QUALITY must be established. Other Unilocalers may disagree with me but I like their melon pastry(can’t benchmark with other places since this is my 2nd time eating it).

Not very good at all. The melon cake was bland and had an offensive chalky texture. Red bean bun was also tasteless and disappointing, though it looked pretty. The folks who work here are nice, and the prices are good. They once gave me a free pastry because I walked in as they closed on their first day. I’ll wait a few months and give them one more try, but the quality so far is really subpar.

I want to like this new Chinese bakery; I really do. I wouldn’t mind having an alternative to Crown Royal. However, this place is just lacking way too much in terms of quality and quantity. Plus, the name(I know how it’s derived from) is totally lame. It sounds like some fobby import/export company. Where to start… well, the egg tarts were sub-par. The crust was scant and had no flavor to it. Those characteristics, along with a tasteless filling, makes this a pastry to avoid. The coconut tart had poor texture and a lack of coconut flavor. The wives’ pastry was thin, small, and also tasteless. The breads are, to continue the theme, devoid of any flavor. I didn’t like the coconut bun, as it lacked much filling inside. I tried a variety of other breads and they all have the same problem. Everything in general here lacked flavor. it was like just eating into blocks of nothing. The prices don’t exactly attract either, as some items are higher than Crown Royal. The only reason why this gets two stars? I think Crown Royal got a bit of a wake-up call and cleaned up on customer service. The Mandarin-speaking lady there is actually kinda nice now. Anything to make her less than an ogre deserves some merit.
