Long live Club 58! Yes they’re still open. I’ve been going there almost every Thursday for a couple of years now, but it’s never been the«it» place to be. They’ve hosted tournaments for pong and beirut, guitar hero competitions on the projector screen, innumerable live bands, even Wii bowling. But no matter what they do they can’t retain a strong following. Part of it is that the place is so big it works as a disadvantage. Even with a couple hundred people in there you could still throw cartwheels without running into anyone. When people go out to the bar scene if it’s not packed they think it sucks and that’s just too bad for 58. Yes it’s in a basement, but the walls are hand painted by a local artist. There’s plenty of bar seating, as well as lounge seating with couches, high tops and booths. There are two rooms and two bars for the busier nights, and a large dance floor with club lighting. I honestly love it here, one of my all time favorite watering holes. After coming for so long I’ve become good friends with all the staff and it’s just like hanging out the game room of a friend’s basement. I think it’s just stupid to wait 20 minutes to get a $ 10 beer after paying $ 20 cover to get in somewhere you can’t even breathe. Club 58 is chill and casual and with so much more to do besides get drunk and shove through people. Pong Beirut Pool Sacks Darts Dance Art All free, in fact sometimes they pay YOU to play. $ 100 beer pong tournaments every Thursday. Beer’s only $ 1, hard liquor $ 5, and(at least on Thursday) no cover charge. If you’re looking for a rip roaring balls to the wall night, this is not the place for you. But if you want to have a good time with great people at almost no cost, you’re missing out if you’re not at 58. Bön Voyage Cat L. May marina bay treat you well!

To be honest I am not sure if this place is even open anymore. I walk by it all the time and it is usually dark, but then occasionally it is open. I am not sure what the deal is. Club 58 is in a basement, and you will never forget that it is a basement while you are there. It is very basementy. I think it is even carpeted. There are pool tables and a beer pong table, but you’re not allowed to play with beer so maybe that makes it Beirut? I don’t know. I’m not a genius. Cheap-ish beer. Terrible DJ’s on the weekend, a terrible projection tv for watching sports. Spunky bartenders. A dark back room that you have to walk through to get to the bathrooms. I’d be lying if i told you i hated this place, but it is a dump.

Im a fucking bus driver!!! lol But i still feel the same way about what i wrote in my review and its all true. last time i drove by there it was a ghost town and the guy at the dorr even said 2nite wasnt a good nite to go there.

Great place to hang out on on New Year’s Eve. Rockin. One night where it’s all ages and a great buffet/crowd/champagne toast. They play a lot of techno on the weekends, which is much appreciated by the hubby and me. Down side — if you are over 30, you are«old» in this place. I guess the old people are at Hajjar’s in Weymouth or somewhere I wish I knew about. My husband and I feel like fossils, but we go for the current hits and techno. We are young old people. Another down side — the john. Full of drunky women(not that I’m a sober bunny, but they are shattered!), so if you have to go in a hurry, plan to wait a bit. Basically, plan your bathroom trips way ahead! The wine tastes like grape juice, but it’s not really expensive, so I won’t bitch. I don’t know if this is a younger people thing, but it seems like no one starts to dance until I’m getting groggy(11:15ish). Come on, all that booze ya’ll have been consuming must have done something by 10:00, JUSTDANCE! Pool tables are cheap and fun. Lounge area if you’re tired and sick of pounding, loud music is quiet and romantic. Great location if you live on the T and don’t want to drink and drive. Best memory: walking home from there with the hubby(we live in Wollaston, it’s in Quincy Center) because the T was shut down for the night and we were too cheap to get a cab. It’s 20 degrees and we’re pretty gone. A cop asks us if we’re okay/did our car break down, and Ms. Dummy(me) replies very cheerfully,“No offisserrrrrr, we just drunk, but we don’t drive drunk!”

Nothing special is right. I’d give this place zero stars but oddly enough, my total dislike for the Commonwealth made this place MORE appealing. I’m basically just going to break these Quincy«night clubs“‘ down. Club 58 vs. Commonwealth The cover charge is the same $ 5 More room Pool tables Sometimes decent live bands Less attitude You get the same watered down drinks faster and from bartenders with actual personalities Closer to Hancock St. so you don’t freeze your ass off running to a new bar in the winter But 2 stars none the less for the sketchy ass cliental that resides in the depths of Club 58.

Eh, this place is ok, nothing special to say the least. The crowd is different than most places I frequent, a little more local and a bit young. I do like that it’s incredibly spacious and has such a large dance floor.
