The food is FANTASTIC! The owner is AWESOME! The bartenders are nice(except one). But after my experience there yesterday, not sure I can go back. I was working all day and decided to go in for a beer then dinner. I was exhausted from working all day. I mean exhausted. I asked the bartender(older lady, dark hair, glasses) for my second beer before ordering. She told me I was«shut off» that I was drinking all day. 1) no I wasn’t and 2) how would she know? Ya, maybe I looked drunk because I am loud and I was tired, but I was not drunk. She gave me the hardest time. We decided to leave instead of causing a scene. After talking about the incident with a few friends and reading out Unilocal comments, I find that I was not the only one who has had issues with her. It was very interesting to hear some of the stories. Again, other than her, this place is great.

Be aware: if you come on Trivia night, it’s very busy and food takes a long time. Disclaimer aside, trivia is AWESOME. It’s styled like«Family Fued» questions(top answers win), which makes it more fun(in my opinion) than regular trivia(plus easier). On to drinks and food — both good! I had the asian chili lime wings, and I loved them. The buffalo was good too(just not my favorite). Fried pickles are GREAT and have a cornmeal style batter. Waitstaff could use a lesson in courtesy, but maybe their rough manner adds to the experience.

The food at this place was phenomenal! The service was pretty mediocre. The waitress we had was less than enthusiastic about serving us. We ate on the bar side because there was a private event. Can’t say I’d dine in again, but I’d definitely do take out!

Generally my take on this place is disappointing. Here are my observations: 1. Parking is readily available. A 2. Service was terrific. The bartender was fast and efficient. A 3. Drink pours are sound although when serving a beer at least asking if you want a glass might be a good practice. A– /B+ 4. The atmosphere is lively and engaging. A 5. Food is a mixed bag hence the 3 stars. The pretzel appetizer was excellent. The Caesar Salad was beyond bad. A basic bed of lettuce with industrial crotons along side a plastic tub of what was clearly jar dressing was awful. F Their Mac and Cheese was a plate of pasta with some cheese tossed in; all in all it was awful. F The turkey tips with roasted vegetables was terrific. A– In others words this was real mixed bag. My advice is chose carefully before you order. Price would have been fair if the food was good but given the inconsistency this place is not on my re-visit list.

Pretty good spot to grab drinks and apps. Sat at the bar before and got food service, strong beverages and a bunch of jokes and wisdom from the middle aged bartender lady. Reuben rolls are bomb, buff dip is not the best I’ve ever had but still pretty good. Definitely will be back!

The food is good here but is overpriced by a couple dollars per item for a Quincy pub.

Food is great. My favorite chicken fingers, and their Mac and cheese is awesome, doesn’t get 5 stars because it can take quite a while before you get your food after ordering it, also most people there are very nice, there’s just this one person, one of the olde ones that OMG, is like she’s constantly pissed to be there. Other than that the service is pretty good.

I love Cagneys, I’ve been coming here for years and will keep coming. Carol is the best bartender here, super funny and great to talk to. Wednesday and Thursday they have trivia here and the woman who runs trivia(Jamie) is awesome. If you stop by in Quincy stop by and have a good time!

i think the food’s awesome and the beer list is pretty good but what’s up with the service? been here a couple times and one time the server was nice but SUPERSLOW. like 20+ minutes between visits slow. if i’m trying to get my drink on that ain’t gon cut it. the next time i came in we sat at the bar because i wasn’t gonna deal with that again and the bartenders were just kinda disinterested… i wouldn’t call them«rude» but i bet a lot of other people would.

Don’t get me wrong food here is awsome, never lets me down. The one star is due to one waitress at the bar(that I always seem to get) who is the absolute worst. Older, dark hair, kinda crusty… My gf and I were 2 of maybe 10 people at cagneys and the other waitresses were running circles around her to serve other customers. At one point I tried to order through another waitress and she said she would send out server over… another 10 mins later we decided to cut our losses and the good food was not worth the shitty service. She is literally the only fault this place has, I think she must be Cagney…

Good quality and unique bar food for reasonable prices. The breading on the friend pickles is incredible but the buffalo tenders were nothing to write home about. My boyfriend loved the sandwich he got: The Savage. They also have a great beer selection. Careful though, staff is hit or miss and a few waitresses have attitudes. Tons of TVs behind the bar make for a great place to catch a game. There was also a paint night in the dining room area the night I went. I’m sad half-price apps aren’t a thing anymore though.

One day last week when my family took a friend of ours to dinner. We decided to go to Cagney’s because it was nearby. We had been there several times before but always been disappointed by the service. We decided to give it one more try. During our meal we were treated with hostile and frankly rude servers. The food was four star no doubt but due to the way we were treated it has brought the atmosphere down and ruined our night. Despite the great food we will never go back thanks to the poor staff.

I really like this place, the reason for 2 stars is the bartender. She isn’t friendly, not service oriented, and only seems to care to accommodate the regulars or people she knows. She also does the whole bar and all of the side tables, which delays the service, and I’ve seen her be straight up rude to a table of 20 something’s, just because they were younger and she could. People who I know that come here have the same issue with her. Hire a new bartender and this place will thrive, because there are great beers and the food is awesome.

I was surprised by this place. We escaped the traffic of the beaches on this beautiful day and gave it a shot. Service was a little slow at first(i don’t think parties of six normally walk in). The food here is excellent. Try the buffalo chicken wontons and pizza.

Food is good. Service is horrible! Very understaffed! Bartenders and waitresses tend to do more talking with there friends then they do paying attention to patrons. In addition all the other negative reviews are all the same complaints as mine.

I love Cagneys. Their food is always good and trivia on Wednesday night is so fun. The loaded potato chips are a favorite as well as their burgers. They are willing to work with you if you have dietary restrictions or food allergies as well, always a plus.

Cagney’s is a great local spot. We typically go on Thursday evenings for Trivia. First off — Great beer selection — the Local 8 is fantastic. They had the Newburyport Greenhead for a while, which is one of my favorite IPAs. They’re constantly updating this and giving great exposure to some awesome local breweries. The food is also great! Haven’t had anything I don’t like. Surprisingly, their bar pizza is better than any other local pizza joints I’ve had in Quincy. The staff is also great and very attentive. I have yet to come on a night other than Thursdays, but will definitely in the future!

I was invited to attend my girlfriends holiday«after» party for drinks and good times. It is a cute little neighborhood bar. All the drinks are reasonably prices and the wait staff is very friendly. They did not mind that there were over 15 people here in one party, which is nice because not all places are that pleasant about it. I had an Amaretto Sour and it was SPOTON!!! Towards the end of the night, we ordered nachos for the table and literally 10 minutes later they came out. They looked amazing and everyone seemed to enjoy them! I cannot wait to go back!

Chicken parm sub and a Caesar Salad 11 last night, seven bucks. Yes indeed. Quite good beer selection, both tap and bottles. I think that one thing they have goin on here is the projected presence of the owner, Mark. Much like Mr. Coop at Coop’s, he is there alot, and works the crowd, has the right personality.
