LONG ISLAND CITY, NY
A decent neighborhood place, nothing fancy, but they always have a few good curry dishes, and the service is very good and friendly. Meat entrée w/​plenty of rice, salad, soup, and tea is $ 10.

I pretty much agree with Jake B. It is Bengali food and it’s delicious. No one speaks english but you can get great curries for cheap. Pick something from the display counter, don’t bother asking for a menu. I give this four stars for the food and the price. The restaurant does not have a pleasant ambiance so I only go here for take out.

This is NOT an Indian restaurant, so don’t expect walking in here and order something specific from the menu. To be more accurate, it’s a Bengali (go search for Bangladesh and learn something). They have an open bar food and you just pick what you want from there. I usually take out several dishes now and then and they are delicious. Closer and cheaper alternative to Jackson Heights food. It would have deserved a 4 star if I could sit and eat there. Not a big fan of the old. men who chat about politics

So I think the other two reviews on this place are kind of bullshit. I eat here a lot– it’s not an order from the menu kind of place. Pick from what looks good on the steam table. Don’t expect much explanation– not that the staff doesn’t know what they’re serving, just don’t think they can explain it in English. If you can kick some bangladesh-​speak I’m sure you’ll get all the explanation you want.
Pretty sure it’s bangladeshi, not indian. It’s a cabbie hangout, the food is great (nice and spicy), not at all expensive, and I think the people are great. One of my regular spots.

This is a good neighborhood Indian restaurant if you need a quick fix of some Tandoori Chicken. Conveniently it is located about a block or two from the subway.
My only critique with this place was when I went they wouldn’t let me order what I wanted. I’m not sure if this is because they have a different lunch and dinner menu, but if that’s the case they should have that marked or have some kind of sign otherwise it leads to disappointment.
