While I’m not that thrilled with my cut, I can’t really blame the establishment. I walked in with an open mind, kind of let the barber do what they wanted to, and while the cut itself is decent, it’s not for me. Not their fault. I have to say that my barber was definitely new there, and the owner would keep an eye out, commenting here and there when something needed correction. It’s a busy place with 8 — 10 barbers, there’s Bachata music playing in the background(which I can’t stand), soccer is on tv, and staff in general speaks Spanish, not much English. For picky English speakers who need good communication, this could present a problem. In general, i think it’s run professionally and they do clean their tools.

The first time I came here, I got my hair cut by Jimmy. He did a fantastic job. I was very happy with my haircut so I decided to go back to Jimmy’s two weeks later. I got my hair cut again by Jimmy but this time, I came out very unsatisfied. This barbershop lacked consistency for me with good haircuts and the only thing that seemed to be consistent was my coming out dissatisfied. I would have crooked shape ups because he rushed my haircut. Cmon guys… you’re better than that.

I followed Jimmy to this barbershop when it opened about 10 years ago. Jimmy is the hands down best barber/teacher. He teaches other men and women how to cut/shave/trim/color and design men’s and women’s hair, and men’s beards. When my father was very ill, Jimmy traveled to his home in Manhattan, gave him a haircut/shave, and made my Dad laugh and feel better. As I dropped him off at his home, he invited me in, and his wife made us breakfast. JIMMYREFUSEDTOTAKE A NICKELFORCUTTINGMYDAD’S HAIR!!! I am proud to say that he is not only my barber, but he and his whole family are my friends. The barbershop has sports on TV; music playing; people talking and laughing, and they even have Sunday hours. JIMMY’s BARBERSHOPISLOCATEDAT: 40 – 30162nd Street Flushing, NY11358 718−359−4945

Simply put, the cuts here are the most amazing I’ve ever had. I always thought the reason all the hispanic kids in my school growing up had better Fades than me was because of how their scalp grew out. WRONG! They just got their cuts from Columbian cutting ninjas is all. This dojo is stocked with focused, meticulous barbers that spend more time on the shape-up than the duration of my whole cut anywhere else. I would say a proper fade, shape, and top trim would run about 45min and wait time is 0−15min depending on your preference. Note, that cuts are a couple bucks more on the weekend Friday-Sunday($ 15) The only reason I docked a star is because of the confusing process of asking for a haircut. Occasionally, as soon as you step in someone may approach you, but most of the time there are employees sitting by the front couch on their cell phones. I can’t tell if they’re on a break or have no interest in cutting my hair(FYI my hygiene is point). I’ll update when I figure this part out, but in the mean time you might want to try the George Lopez entrance by flinging the door open and yelling«Orale!»

Jimmy’s Barber shop rocks. The employees is very amicable and expert at what they do. The cost is very fair considering the awesome job and ability they have. Two Thumbs up! ASKFORRUBEN
