We call this playground«Shady Playground,» and although hurricane Sandy damaged some of the trees, it’s still fairly shady. It’s a great respite from the waterfront playgrounds on hot days, or really, any day. There are plenty of benches and picnic tables, two play structures, four baby swings, and a water feature that has squirrel fountains(although mysteriously, it’s still usually not on, even as I’m writing this in mid-June). There are also real squirrels, which I like since it’s nice to be able to see a little wildlife even in a city playground.

Steps away from the subway; A hidden gem, literally watched over by the neighborhood’s police department. This park has beautiful luscious trees that protect it and your family from a harsh summer sun, an area for the obligatory water sprinklers, baby swings, slides, an area to sit and have lunch/play a game of chess, all of which makes this park welcoming to families galore!
