This is a relatively cheap Taiwanese spot in Flushing. I’ve had their chili beef(which was actually really spicy) and the fried pork chop w/rice and meat sauce. Both items were good. The fried pork chop seems like a great hangover cure and this place is open pretty late. Surly servers as previously noted in other reviews.

Workers glaring, food is slow, and super pricey for a small dinner or lunch. Don’t recommend coming here. I came here with my family, and the first thing I saw was a worker playing on her phone and not recognizing us. The food is okay. Not bad.

We only had the Ba-wan here. It wasn’t nearly as good as Temple Snacks in the mall. Microwaved I think, very gummy, sauce tasted funkier than the other one I tried.

Ginger Chicken is so so, and the Eggplant w. basil is disgusting. Chunk braised pork on rice really disappointed me. Vegetable Tofu soup is not for human being. lol In addition, I heard quarrels between waiters. Avoid this one, but I also heard some friends said it used to be an authentic Taiwanese restaurant.

Pretty solid Taiwanese food here, I got the rice noodle soup which came with veggies and pork. The soup was really flavorful and decently priced. My BF got the beef noodle soup, which was really good, especially for what you can get in the US. I’d definitely like to come back here in the future to try out their other food. When we got here in the afternoon, the restaurant as pretty busy, although not crowded.(Then again I only came here on a whim when the dim sum restaurant down the street required a 30 minute wait). Keep in mind when you come here, as with most Asian restaurants, this place is CASHONLY so don’t be like that douche that cried BS when the owner told him they were cash only and the only Bank of America was 2 blocks away. He grumbled all three minutes over there, what a hoot.

taiwanese egg pancake… YUM! we did take out and ate this while waiting in line at Nan Xiang’s for our soup dumplings. the eggs, dough, and oysters were great and the sauce was sweet but a perfect blend. better than i expected. first time having this dish, and it was very delightful.

I wanted to get a real Taiwanese experience, and they provided. I didn’t want Chinese, I wanted Taiwanese, for those of you that don’t know, there are some differences. They are not so much fans of each other, to say the least. Seems to be a severe dislike between the two. (Full disclosure — I’m a NY, NY born Croatian, have never taken a class in Asian culture, and am so not formally educated to speak about these things, just going with what I hear :)) Anyway, this place was real. Nothing fancy, very much looked like an Asian take-out place. But most importantly, it was rated an «A» by the NYC Dept of Health. Pretty scarce grade in Flushing, take a look around, you’ll see. And I don’t know your thoughts, but to me anything less than an «A» is an «F». If you’re looking for a cocktail, it’s beer only. I recommend the Taiwanese beer(when in Rome). Has a subtle fruity flavor to it, very light and goes down easy on a warm day. As far as the food, many traditional Taiwanese entrees to choose from, we had the oyster pancakes, cucumber salad, beef noodle soup, cold pork sausage and my personal favorite — Taiwanese meatballs. All made for a different, but delicious experience. The meatballs were served in bowl with this… what I can best describe as a rice based half cooked noodle bread hybrid. Chewy(very chewy) and quite yummy. Not sure if they had desserts as we filled up on appetizers, but if you’re looking for real Taiwanese with no pretense, this is it. There are some animals on the menu that I’m not sure belong on a plate, but who knows. maybe next time I’ll give them a go. :)
