Great people however the food is horrible. I believe they used a left over food for the next day. And it doesn’t taste fresh. The only thing I like is the spring roll and toron

I grew up around Mina’s and I love love the hospitality, genuine kindness and most importantly the food! They make you feel right at home. Their food never disappoints me. The only reason why they don’t get a 5 stars is because of preference. I don’t like having a television on while I’m eating; it’s a distraction to my thoughts and to the person who I’m having lunch with.

These are lovely people and good cooks! They’ve got trays behind a display as well as some things they can make up fresh to order. If the tray stuff is old they will tell you and whip up a fresh batch. I always leave this place with a stomachache-from eating too much! That should tell you something. They also have a little shop area where you can buy some Filipino groceries, which is nice.

food is weak and nothing special, everything is very expensive. unfortunately, this is a very honest review. was way better in its«minas days». this place has potential but needs to revamp or remodel and reopen.

Tried their weekend buffet yesterday. I loved their pancit malabon, homemade chicharon and sago-gulaman! My kids loved their pancit miki-bihon and adobo. The owners and staff are very friendly and makes you feel at home. And the best part, no long waits for a table, which is a problem in Woodside. The food is right there(turo-turo style) so you can eat right away.

So i order pork bbq skewer. It came by itself no rice. I walked into the place and the only lady behind the counter was not helpful at describing the food she had on a hot buffet. So i order what i know. The pork itself was a $ 4 order. The pork was well seasoned but it was soaked in a brown sauce. The sauve actually took away from the grilled flavor of the pork but i can honestly say that i had better bbq pork in woodside queens. It seems like the place caters to only filipino people as i was asking the lady questions and she did not seem to want to help me. Oh well their loss. Go next door to the dominican place rice and beans and you get better food and the people are friendly.

I am sorry to say, the place, generally, is deteriorating. I’d been a fan before, we stopped by often for a quick lunch, paid so many«to go» week nights visits and requested numerous catering service. I remember 8 years ago that we rented out their basement for a party. That was then. Seldom I come to this place lately. One weekend, out of the blue after a community meeting, we decided to stop by for a quick snack. We were disappointed when we get our charges for simple halo– halo we ordered. A little bit pricey . Brought home some take out foods. The«puto» was hard and needs microwave cooking assistance to soften. The«pandesal» they were selling was a day close to its expiration day which of course I didn’t noticed till I am home. I would suggest for you guys to check each item expiration date when you shop in her little grocery. Just picked one safe entrée, the«dinuguan» to take home for that night as it gets tastier at time goes by. I have never ask for their catering service for a while. Friends are saying that the service gets bad as well. I think the place needs a revamp or else it will lose its loyal customers.

I love this place. The prices are good, the food is great, and the service is excellent. It’s so much more convenient than going all the way to woodside. Go check it out!

Food pretty good. Nice people. They have a big screen TV to watch Eat Bulaga on. BBQ, Dinuguan and Ulam are, overall, better than average. Place looks clean. I usually go to Tito Rad’s for Filipino food, but I would dare say that Doty’s is better than Ihawan and Krystal’s near 69th and Roosevelt. The service is much friendlier. The ladies make you feel like family.

I don’t know what you guys are smoking! The food was terrible! I have been to many Filipino restaurants in NYC including Long Island and this restaurant ranked last in my book! The service was very good so they get a star for that. I tried going there at least 3 times but they failed me over and over again! I hope I don’t get sick from their dinuguan because it tasted horrible. Even though it is close to home, I rather drive to Woodside or Long Island. Never going here again! $ 16 for their buffet? Are you kidding me! Over-priced! I’m sick to my stomach!

The lovely staff of Doty’s are so warm and friendly! They make me as though I’m a guest in their home. It’s a cafeteria-style restaurant, or «turo-turo» as we call in The Philippines, where they have an array of pre-made meals to choose from but they also have a menu in case you don’t find anything to your liking. A great place if you are too lazy to cook! They have a catering menu(pick-up)as well, which I’ve tried multiple times in the past and have been a success. You can do a bit of grocery shopping as they have a few selections of Filipino products such as chips, candies, canned and frozen foods etc. Pakbet, palabok and pork barbecue are all very good. One that I didn’t like is the sweet and sour fish. I thought the fish was too tough. And also their halo-halo has way too much ice shaving and milk and not enough beans, bananas and all that good stuff. Although the leche flan on top hits the spot for me. I wouldn’t think twice of stopping by whenever I’m in their neighborhood.

I guess there is an Indian woman in this neighborhood also named Mina. And she didn’t like the fact there was a place called Mina’s. She sounds pretty mean-living up to her name. I don’t even know if that other Mina owns a restaurant. Well, regardless, this is now called Doty’s. The food is great. I tried about 10 different things and they all were outstanding.

The place is now Doty’s Restaurant. Great Filipino food. Spectacular service. Went there to celebrate the birthday of my Filipino boyfriend. The owner and staff were very friendly and accommodating. They bantered with the guests and provided, on the house, a dessert plate with bananas in a crispy shell. The staff was very helpful, quick on service, and most importantly warm and inviting. Had a great time. In addition the food was great as well. Not being Filipino myself unfortunately I cannot vouch for the food’s «authenticity», but the food was devoured and I personally found it to be very delicious. Simply trying to remember the variety of different dishes served that night has caused my stomach to grumble in anticipation.

I really love Mina’s food, it’s pretty close to the Filipino food my mom and family makes so the taste is just right. My favorite would be the vegetable lumpia, its the big one almost like an egg roll but so much better and the pork BBQ is delicious. To use credit card, you need a minimum of $ 20.

I just came from there and had some type of beef stew. The meat was so tender and satisfying. If i could give it more than 5 stars i would

They’re now called Doty’s Restaurant– Filipino Homestyle Cooking. Same people old ladies, and sweet lolo, but different management. Things have improved though! Their BBQ actually tastes like REAL filipino bbq! Humungo cuts of beef all packed onto a skewer &it’s the real deal :). They also have better grocery items now! Yay, win!

I don’t know what it is about Pino food, but it always taste home made; Mina’s is no different. Nothing is made to order and basically it’s a lunch counter — but no one’s complaining. The 2 ladies behind the counter make it feel like you’re at your aunt’s house for a home cooked meal(not that I have a Filipino aunt, but you know I kinda wish I did). You leave filling satisfied while planning your next visit. Not all 4 star reviews have to be about the atmosphere, amuse bouche or the celebrity chef. Sometimes, we forget that we’re reviewing the food and Mina’s doesn’t disappoint.
