We live in SEAFORDNY where Cara Mia Due is located. It doesn’t hold a candle to the original Cara Mia in Queens Village where we used to live. We always go back to Queens Village for the delicious food and excellent service. Our server Denise is wonderful. No matter how busy and crowded it is, Denise always has a big hello for u and asks how we r and is just a delight. My husband and I go often and we r celebrating our 42nd Wedding Anniversary this coming week!!!

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Cara Mia and my husband likes the food too. However, I’m not too big of a fan. The wait staff, although nice, does not seem to really know much about the restaurant. We’ve been here twice within the 3 months. The first time, the wait staff seemed upset when I asked about the specials. They were written by the bar and we were seated almost at the other end of the restaurant. The second time, our waiter had to leave us and come back reading notes. He wasn’t new, we saw him the last time we were there. Their bread comes out hot and delicious. The muscles are amazing! But all the other dishes I tried were mediocre.

Don’t be fooled by the location or the size of this hidden gem in Queens. Old school Italian restaurant, huge servings and everything was fantastic. All staff was attentive and polite, but be ready to wait if you don’t have a reservation. We will be back!

I love this restaurant. From the servers to the food, it is all outstanding. Now, the actual space is so small but they make up for it with atmosphere. Homestyle Italian food. The serving sizes will have you bringing food home. The bread is always fresh and hot. The seafood is fresh and the pasta and sauce is soooo good. I’m a big sauce fan so if the sauce is whack I ain’t coming back. The prices are what you can expect for an average Italian restaurant. Not cheap and a little on the expensive side but I feel you get what you pay for. Servers are upbeat and funny. If you are in the neighborhood definitely stop in and check it out.

Went there last nite for the first time… Waited an hour for a table but it was well worth the wait… Had amazing fried calamari… Chicken sorrentino in an amazing sauce and a nice side of pasta… Loved it from beginning to end… I will be going back again and again…

I can’t say anything negative about this place. I’ve been here 3 or 4 times and they are consistent with everything. Great food, great service, nice atmosphere. I love their shrimp parmigiana and calamari! I’ve also tried the chicken parmigiana and vodka penne with grilled shrimp, they were equally delicious. It’s a small place so it gets packed quickly. Oh and the bread and flatbread they give you is good too.

The place simply oozes with grandmas love. From the décor to the wait staff, everything feels like you just sat down in grandmas kitchen for a fresh home cooked meal. The place was relatively quite when we came in Saturday afternoon. Had no trouble getting seated and attended to. They start you off with complementary bread and butter which I recommend you astray from because their portion sizes are huge. No reason to fill yourself up on carbs. They have a prefixed pre-dinner menu which includes salad, soup, a choice of entrée(we went with the chicken Parmesan), ice cream and cup of coffee for only $ 23. And they are full portions, so be warned to bring an empty stomach to the table. We paired that off with a order of baked clams(dozen for $ 14). Only criticism, clams were a little chewy. Not exactly the texture I was hoping for when I sunk my teeth in today. But the presentation and sauce were just fantastic. I wish I had some of that bread to dip into the sauce. We also ordered linguine with white clam sauce. They somewhat overdid with the wine and after a few minutes the noodles felt drenched and lost most of its texture and taste. The meal was definitely affordable. Total(with tip) came out to under $ 70. But honestly there was enough food there to feed four people.

I was pleasantly surprised! The food was great, the portions are huge and the service was excellent. So, don’t let the exterior of the building fool you. Give it a try!

Not a fan of this spot. I was so excited to go here for so long and then when I did I couldn’t figure out what the fuss was about. Standard Italian dishes you can get anywhere. Nothing interesting. Seemed to cater more to American food then to real Italian food. Not coming back.

Delicious! Just like Grandma made. I am very picky when I order meatballs. Most are just hard lumps of meat covered in tomato sauce. Not here! They are almost as good as my grandma and now I make. Service was very attentive but not overbearing. Chicken special with chestnuts and asparagus Was very good-comparable to Parkside’s.

Me and my girlfriend came here for her birthday on a Tuesday evening. It was pretty packed. Hot bread basket and martinis. It was very«home-y» and welcoming. Very nice, fun, and friendly staff. Amazing service. Calamari: fresh, light, and crispy Stuffed clams: they were big and fresh as well. Great sauce with it Cara Mia entrée: tender chicken topped with eggplant and mozzarella in a Marsala with mushroom sauce(sweet yet buttery 10⁄10). This was my favorite dish out of all. Each bite melted in my mouth

Went here for Sunday dinner and had a great time! It gets crowded so get here early. Large bowl of delicious tortellini soup for an appetizer with tasty baked clams. Had a veal dish for main course and it was amazing. Was too full for dessert buy great selections. Waitress was always available to us as busy as she was. Great place will definitely go back!

My wife and I had take out and it was excellent. First, the portions were more than enough for dinner and lunch the next day. As we all know, Italian food reheats exceptionally well. The taste was excellent as well. My wife had the Cara Mia Chicken and I had the Flounder Oreganata. Both were very tasty and recommended for anyone. When I picked up the food I was impresses with the in house dining area. It seemed very tight but homey and inviting. I noticed the staff very attentive to the customers. I look forward to dinning in some time soon.

Decent food for a local restaurant. I typically order from here(about 2 times a year) because they are open later than other places in the area.

This is a very delicious restaurant. The food is good, gets brought out pretty fast, service is good, and the overall place is very warm and cozy. Reasonable pricing. Definitely come here for good Italian food!

Pretty decent Italian restaurant. I’ve tried many dishes here and most were really good. The Chicken or Veal Parmesan being my favorites. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was their fried calamari. I could be wrong, but on the two occasions I tried it, it tasted frozen rather than fresh. Overall, I think they have decent food though and I would definitely return. If not for the calamari, I’d have given them that 5th star.

This is my second time ordering calamari from this place and it does not disappoint! From the outside, the restaurant does not look very appealing. The inside of the restaurant is very small and intimate. The food however is always fresh and tasty. I can’t wait to come back and order more stuff on the menu!

We had been to Cara Mis several times in the past and were happy with it. Tonight wasn’t that great. We didn’t have to wait too long to sit. We got our bread basket quickly and our waitress came over soon after. The appetizer came out fast as did our dinners. So far, so good. My wife’s chicken francese had 3 nice sized pieces of chicken. One piece tasted like it was boiled, the others were a little over cooked and dry. My fettuccini alfredo tasted good, but the sauce was very thin. When we were finished eating the main course, we sat there for a while waiting for the waitress to come over. We wanted our leftovers wrapped up and to order dessert. Basically, if you’re a regular, you get extra attention. If you aren’t a regular, you sit there waiting while the staff has conversations with the people they know. It’ll probably be another long while before we try going back.

Favorite Italian restaurant in Queens. Service is good. They are attentive without being annoying! Food is spot on. Today, we started with fried calamari(best calamari I’ve ever had! And I’ve had a lot). Their complimentary bread is delicious! And smoking hot when it comes out. Absolutely loved it! I ordered the Rigatoni Portobello. It has chicken, portobello mushrooms with rigatoni pasta in a Marsala & marinara sauce. It was amazing! My boyfriend ordered the veal parm with a side of spaghetti. We also added an order of «Nonna’s famous meatballs» to accompany his spaghetti. Everything was delicious except the meatballs(that’s why I took off a star). The meatballs had way too much bread in the filling and barely tasted like meat. It was like a sponge in texture and very bland in flavor. Veal parm and spaghetti were spot on though. Important thing to note — PORTIONSIZEISHUGE. Wear your stretchy pants that day! In total we paid $ 65 excluding tip for our meal(fried calamari, veal parm, rigatoni portobello and a side of meatballs). I think it was worth the price however next time I won’t get the meatballs. Highly recommend to anyone looking for some good Italian food.

Cara Mia made my mothers Mother’s Day in the hospital extra special. I called early this morning after asking my mom what she would like for lunch today. They took my order and had it ready for me when they opened the doors today at 12:30. This has always been my mom and dada favorite restaurant, and I completely understand why. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Everything was perfect — from the Russo salad to the Italian cheesecake.
