Such nice guys, serving a great, tasty bacon cheeseburger. They were busy, but still managed to get my order out quickly. Great bacon and special sauce and just the right amount of pickles on the burger. Tiny drive-in. Sit outside and people watch.

As good as any burger joint I’ve ever eaten at. Just awesome. The only place that rivals it is Hires in SLC. I could eat at either one of those places every day for the rest of my life and be happy. Also, the owner and staff are very friendly. I love this place!

Overpriced and mediocre food — akin to what you might expect from a Dairy Queen. The burger was about 1⁄8 lb, more than likely from a large bag of industrially-produced frozen patties. The fries were good(aka just the right amount of crispness) but the amount you get(a medium-sized handful) is not worth $ 1.99. I asked for a chocolate cherry shake and either they forgot to put the cherry in or the flavor is incredibly weak. Staff wasn’t all that friendly, but not outright rude either — about what I’d expect from high school kids in a small town like Puyallup, so no real complaints there. Bottom line: I wouldn’t recommend it or go there again.

I’m a fan of a good burger. My fiancé told me about this place, so I thought I’d try it out. I was impressed with the quality of the food. The only thing I had an issue with was the price. I ordered a cheese burger about the size of what you get at McDonald’s for $ 3.49. I don’t know but, that seems a bit steep. All in all I was happy with the place, I’d just re think the menu pricing.

Our party of 4 had 2 burgers and 2 corn dogs. The burgers and fries were as expected. The corn dogs were black(burnt). We asked for new ones which we received promptly. A little too promptly, they were cold inside. By then they were closed, so will try microwaving at home. I suspect they are frozen, not what I would expect for $ 2.99 We heard others grumble that this is typical at closing time 730pm) Soo if you go expect average burgers and skip the corn dogs.

It’s been a few years since I moved away from Puyallup and the superlative Don’s Drive-In, yet I still find myself lamenting the loss of their delicious made-from-scratch soup and pie. I know a lot of people come here for their burgers, but for me it was always a bowl of soup and slice of pie. Their potato and chowder soups were my favorite, and I would kill for the marionberry pie. Do yourself a favor: go to Don’s Drive-In, order a bowl of soup and a slice of pie(definitely say yes to the made-from-scratch whip cream), and then mark this review as useful because you will love me for it.

Frozen patties and snotty teenagers, where do you get four stars from? I gave this place too many chances. I like these kind of places but this one just plain sucks. The burgers are decent but over cooked frozen patties aren’t appetizing. The fries are good. The onion rings are gross. I always get just plain ignored and skipped over for some parent of kid they go to high school with. I just plain left last time they did that. They didn’t even notice. The time before we called in an order at 645 and the shift manager girl did not want to take my order since they close at 7. Couldn’t believe it, had to convince her I live close and would be there in five. Today got a Long sigh when the girl answered the phone, I hung up after on hold for five minutes at 230 in the afternoon on a Tuesday . These teenagers just don’t care. A entire new crew every few months. The owners daughter sets the poor appearance standard with her dirty looking pajamas. Whatever you do you should take pride in it. These folks do not. I will vote with my dollar and not give them another penny. I should note that just six months ago these guys were clinging on to three stars now at four. Yet nothing has changed. Hmmmmm that is interesting.

This was mine and my boyfriends first time here. We wanted to try a new burger place and have always passed by this restaurant, but decided to give it a try today. It was great food and very cheap! The burgers and fries were amazing and not greasy! The staff was VERY friendly and the place was clean. We will definitely be coming back to eat here.

Best place for a burger, arguably in all of Washington and the shakes are the real deal. Very small inside, just an FYI, and if you’re the picky type it’s not the cleanest place you’ll ever go to eat(but it’s not disgusting).

Hands down the best burger joint in Puyallup. I suggest thier smitty burgers, pies, and shakes. Tasty!!! Service is good but they are frequently busy so you may have to wait. Pricing is reasonable. Give this place a try, you won’t regret it.

I got here for the burgers, fries and milkshakes! Best burger in town by a landslide; their secret sauce is the best I’ve had so far, makes me come back for more every time! They also have a nice outdoor seating arrangement going on. Highly recommend this little establishment.

Food is great — comfort food, delicious as can be, but ambiance is not for kicking back to enjoy, easily loses 1 – 2 stars for church fundraiser feel, rather than business like service.

Man it’s crap to drive all the way out here & they close 2 hours earlier than advertised?! Not sure we will be back!

I suspect that Don’s is the heart of Puyallup. While the food is ordinary, the clientele is extraordinary. Here truckers dine next to the elderly in their finery. The staff are all very large and very nice. The shredded lettuce on the burgers is tinged with brown, which is a good sign because that means it’s not treated with a bleaching agent, which many restaurants use. The«sauce» on the burgers is clearly 1000 Island dressing. The drinking water arrives in Styrofoam cups. I will return, both for the food and the atmosphere.

I will go the distance if it means I can have a good shake, and I was so pleased with my shake from Don’s drive in. It tastes like they actually use real ice cream instead o blending up soft serve. Yum! Their sign said homemade soup and pie, so I had soup and pie. I tried their cabbage chowder(never heard of it before) and it was delicious. It had a nice smokey flavor. I also had their rhubarb pie, which had an excellent tart taste and delicious crust. The only issue I had was that the crust was kind of soggy around the edges. Don’s is a burger place, but I’m going to wait and bring the boyfriend with me to try their burgers for the first time. Very excited. As far as the service goes, everyone was very sweet. I ordered my food to go and they even walked it outside for me to take instead of just handing it through the window. Brings my review back up to 5 stars! If you know me you know I prefer to give my money to small businesses. And this seems like an amazing family owned business to support, with their delicious food and reasonable prices. I will definitely be back.

Cool joint out in the middle of nowhere. We were on our way to Mt Rainer. Using Unilocal to find a place to eat. My dad owned a hamburger joint for 21 yrs. so when I come across a pop joint like Don’s, I’ve got to give it try. Outside, you can tell it has been around for a long time. And when you have their food, you will understand why. Wife and I both got a hamburger, 1 order of fries, and a chocolate milkshake. The burger comes with a nice crust. How? I have no idea. My only negative comment. The cashier sits while taking your order. Not very professional.
