Don’t be put off by a couple of grumpy Groupon users, this place is a gem. I’ve always gotten prompt responses from the owner, and had nothing but great experiences there. This place is a rare combination… being both a relaxed barn and a place where the safety of people and animals is top priority. The owners are young(in their 30’s), committed, positive and professional. I’ve been on and off riding for 45 years, so I’ve seen and been involved in many different equestrian situations. At Cimarron I’ve taken a lesson, been on a trail ride, with a friend, and ultimately decided to lease one of their horses. Places like this are rare, if you’ve been meaning to get back to riding, go do it.

I had a great time at the Cimarron Ranch. The whole staff was very helpful and the trail ride was amazing. I was surprised to see the negative reviews below. I highly recommend this place and will be coming back.

I must admit, based on the bad review. I was a bit worried but everything worked out perfectly. Initial reservation was pretty straight forward. I reconfirmed the day before. I arrived a little early, as suggested and the horses were ready within 10 minutes. My horse«Mexico» was AWESOME. The trail ride was great and as described. The staff were very nice and informative. I would definitely go back.

Don’t waste your money, this place is a FRAUD! I spent two hundred dollars for a half hour lesson and one hour trail ride for four people. When I called and left a message, I specified two children. My message was ignored. When I called a week later, I said I have a Groupon for four for the half hour lesson and hour ride. I had made this reservation a month in advance. They did not ask the ages, as this is part of their scheme. Once you click pay, there is no way out. You are not getting what you paid for. There should be modifications commensurate with what you spent. I purchased the Groupon prior to reading other abysmal reviews of this place. As soon as we arrive, we are greeted with«I didn’t know you had two kids, you didn’t say two children». Again, I only read about the owner being snotty AFTER I purchased the rides. Call me crazy, but I would assume most people purchasing a horse lesson and trail ride would have kids. If age is a condition, it should be specified at the time of purchase. First, there is one price for the groupon, and nowhere does it ask the age of the rider. Second, in reading the conditions, the only time age is mentioned is when specifying that a rider under 16 needs to have an adult on-site. Third, the conditions state«valid for children and adults». SO-we were told the kids rides would be modified-they would get a lesson on horsemanship, the half hour riding lesson, and they would have an employee walk alongside on the trail. I was fine with that . Well, we got the lesson. The horsemanship was brushing the horse and giving them a handful of snack at the end! The trail ride was FIFTEENMINUTES! The owner failed to mention that. We mounted our horses at 2:15, and were in the car by 3:15. So, if you have the money to burn, and wish to contribute to the owner’s horsey collection, fine. There are many other reputable horse ranches where you can go for a trail ride. When you go to the OTHER ranches, ask what they are getting for their ages, and make sure you get what you paid for. The owners should be ashamed of themselves. There is no justification for a rip-off, pure and simple.
