To be completely honest… I use to LOVE the ZZU but now I hate it. My favorite bartender Alfredo busted his ass for that place and everyone knew it. Everyone wanted to come into that bar because Alfredo worked there. Now, they have a ton of people behind the bar that don’t have as much spirit and friendliness that Alfredo and Rachael did. There were really shitty reasons for why they left and I think it is messed up. Now you go in there and there is barely any people there. Every night was always amazing. When I go in there, I feel like everyone is missing out what that bar could’ve been. I feel sorry for the owners because they missed out and I think they have tried to do new things that are just not working out. Atmosphere is everything when it comes to a bar and they lost it when Alfredo left.

Awesome place, great prices. They got good deals for beer and tacos. The owner is very nice too.

I have been there for many times. The food quality was not consistent. Sometimes I had really nice chicken wings, sometime the wings were not wings but just a bunch of bones. I loved their french fries. Overall it’s a wonderful place for cheap food and beer.

Wonderful place to chill with friends! Great food, ambiance, and service! Complimentary chips and salsa are a nice touch. Best BBQ wings I’ve ever had! Fun place to enjoy $ 3 wings on a Wednesday, dance salsa on a Thursday, and play pool on a Friday night Danced the Cupid shuffle and wobble here.

Oh the ZUU, how I… LOVEYOU! Definitely my favorite bar in Pullman! Located up in Apartment land, the ZZU is definitely mainly a weekday bar, it gets packed Tuesday-Thursday, and there’s a reason, it is a great bar! Drinks: Cheap! The main bartender Alfredo pours heavy, they always have specials going on depending on the night, and they have a great selection. Bar: Big and loud. They have pool tables in the back, and seating/dance floor in the front. Lots of TV’s. Plus a dance cage ha. They also have great weekday deals: Taco Tuesday — $ 0.75 PBRs $ 2.50 Tequila shots $ 4.00 Double Dirty Shirley $ 9.00 Well Pitcher-excludes tequila $ 0.75 Tacos(Hardshell, comes with all the trimmings) KARAOKE all night! Starting at 9, loads of fun Wing Wednesday — $ 5.50PBR Tubs $ 6.50 Coors Light Tubs $ 2.50 Tecate cans $ 4.00 Double Cosmos $ 3.75 wings-Hot/BBQ/Naked(big basket! so cheap!) 11PM-1AM3 shots for $ 5.00-Washington Apples/Kamikazes Latin Night Thursday — $ 5.50PBR Tubs $ 6.50 Coors Light Tubs $ 3.50 Mexican Beers $ 5.00 Iguanas(tequila drink) $ 6.00 Wings and Tequila shot-Hot/BBQ/Naked They start playing Latin music around 11, awesome night for some salsa! Everyday but Wednesday they do a $ 6PRB, Burger and fries, and this is a big burger with all the trimmings, so good! And everyday they offer free chips and salsa! Probably my favorite bar of all time, I have yet to find one that compares.

Tuesday= free chips & salsa, 50 cent PBRs, 75 cent tacos. Throw that in with karaōke & pool and you’ve got yourself a good time. Good luck finding a seat to set your giant 10.00 platter of beer and tacos on though. The Zzu is the lone bar in apartment land that’s trying to compete with the clump of bars on college hill, which means they very good deals on very strong drinks for those who make the trip over. If you go on any day but Tuesday, you can actually find a place to sit and drown away that F you got in Econ.

The Zzu is a good time. I happened to have the good fortune of turning 21 on a Tuesday so my first Zzu experience was a Taco Tuesday. Karaōke and tacos. And free unlimited chips and salsa, my weakness!(Available every night). There are a bunch of regulars and eager others to keep the karaōke going late. The tacos are cheap and they come out fast. Plus they have a PBR deal going on. They don’t skimp on the alcohol in their mixed drinks. They’re on the stronger side for me but it’s worth your money. Wing Wednesday is another must try. I enjoy their spicy wings and if you want to avoid more of the drinking night crowd you can go earlier than usual for your fix. They have a dance floor that I believe they use on Latin nights and pool tables and darts in the back. For the most part, the Zzu is busy but not overwhelming although a nights in the beginning of the school year can be crowded. It helps to go early to get a table if you’re planning on staying a while to enjoy the festivities. Oh and I really like that they have water coolers sitting out on the bar so that you don’t have to wait in the drink line just for a water.

At 42 the bartender at this college pub didn’t make me feel old one bit! We came in on a quiet night(or maybe we were the old early birds) and had amazing buffalo wings for $ 5(which included a shot of tequila). Drinks were priced right and when we come back to visit our son at WSU we will be back.

They have good, cheap food and their prices for drinks are reasonable. I really like the tacos they have on Tuesdays, and they are only 75 cents each. However, it gets really crowded when WSU is in session, and the lines can be out the door when there are good specials. Also, some of the bartenders don’t know how to check a passport and try to demand you show other ID.

Good weekday bar. I never pass by during the rest of the year but they have some awesome summer deals going on right now. Grab a group of friends and pop in for some food and drinks on the cheap. $ 3.50 wings on Wednesdays. $ 9.00 for a pitcher of Long Island iced tea.

I highly recommend the Zzu for(if I remember right) Wednesday’s Wings night. You get a basket of buffalo wings for cheap. The buffalo sauce is amazing and you can specify the spiciness. You also get cheap $ 2 tacate beers. Good college bar especially if you live in the surrounding apartments like CCN or College Crest. Mike’s and Valhalla can be too far for the apartment dwellers on a cold Pullman winter night.

I used to have a fantastic review up here for the Zzu, but over the last year, the new management have been determined to run it into the ground. This was epitomized by their firing the singularly BEST bar tender in the whole town, Alfredo. I always, always came back to the ZZU, almost nightly, on my return visits to Pullman because of the amazing staff and the wonderful atmosphere, but that’s gone. If you’re looking for fun, I’d try one of the other bars– Valhalla, My Office, take your pick! Anything’s better than here!

oh man. Alfredo got me through my college years in Pullman! By far my favorite place EVER. Very sad to have to say goodbye. Every night has a different special and every night was awesome! I ate tacos every Tuesday for two years! Had some great karaōke times on tuesdays too. Wing Wednesday super busy but fun. Thursday is latino night. All the latinos in Pullman come out to this place around 11 pm. Super fun latin dancing. Free chips and salsa everyday! YES! I’m in Spokane for the next year and I will definitely make the hour and a half drive to hang out with Alfredo as much as I can. =)

The Zzu… is amazing. My(now) wife and I lived down the street from The Zzu our senior year of college and would go there many times a week. After we graduated we moved off college hill and would still go at least once a week for the $ 5 burger/fries/beer basket. The best thing about The Zzu is Alfredo of course! If you get to know Alfredo he will do nothing but take good care of you. I don’t know how many alcohol promo products he gave our group of friends. He even special ordered me a set of the pour spouts he uses in the bar!(I paid for those though) Wed. wing night is also great. They shut down the kitchen and all you to get is BBQ or Buffalo wings. When we lived there is was only $ 3⁄12 wings, may have gone up by now. The smoking tent our front was great for cold windy night on the Palouse, but I think it may have succumb to the rowdiness of the Cougars. Anyway, every WSU student needs to stop by just once. It’s no Mikes or Valhalla, but that’s the point. It is simply, The Zzu.

Free chips and salsa! Pool table are the 6ft length ones, but it’s only 50 cents. Had the Black Opel and was a good mix.

Frado? Fredo? I don’t know quite how to spell his name but he is the best bartender in Pullman without a question. He is the shorter Mexican fellow that can always make you laugh and is generous with the alcohol in the drinks. The food is good for the prices you are getting it at and the atmosphere at the Zzu is way more chill than Valhalla or Stubblefields. Plus you don’t have to deal with DJ Goldfinger’s «Sick» beats. I think my least favorite part about the zzu is that it attracts a lot of really weird and unsavory locals sometimes but otherwise the karaōke nights are probably some of the best excuses to miss class the next morning.
