allright. it’s a tiny place. you are probably going to get your food to go. but if you want, there’s a little counter where you could eat too. the sushi was fresh, tasted good and was a decent price. i was surprised to find out that there was also plenty of sushi — i probably ordered more than I needed, because i’m used to sushi places being skimpy on their orders. they had my order ready quick and it was made correctly. loved the food, loved the leftovers too. I’ll come back for more, thanks!

Very small shop. The women who works there is very friendly and recommends the best bubble tea flavors! Sushi is also very decently priced and great for take out. Try the taro with coconut bubble tea with passion fruit!(Slushy version) For sushi I recommend the piano roll and spicy tuna! Their sushi is very fresh and made to order.

don’t let the size fool you this place is worth a try. The sushi is great and they don’t have too many combos with out rolls but the rolls are great and the bubble tea is delicious

The service was friendly and quick. The quality of the sushi(spicy tuna roll) was bad. It was very rice heavy with little fish. That’s especially a problem because the rice was mushy(there’s a difference between sticky and mushy), too sour, and too sweet. To hide these flaws there was a lot of spicy mayo on top — too much. I’ll try another place the next time I’m in town.

Friendly staff, Sushi is not that great, I’ve tried the Ichiban Big Maki roll and the Shrimp Tempura; way too greasy for me. The rice was too mushy for me as well. Their Sushi seems to be quantity over quality!

The kindest family owned place. Delicious sushi made fairly quickly for students on the run, delicious bubble tea choices and amazing service. I go there every chance I get.

This little hole-in-the-wall is a welcome addition to Thayer Street. It is much more of a take out than dine-in establishment. In fact, it has limited seating. The couple who runs Sushi Express are sweet as pie and make it fresh to order. The sushi is quite good, and again, super fresh! I have ordered a tempura roll and found there to be a bit too much fried-ness for me. But other than that, no complaints! The prices are reasonable, and the bubble tea is perfection.

Good, basic sushi. Affordable. Pretty much takeout only. I think a Japanese couple runs the restaurant. They are efficient and polite.

I somehow always end up back here for my sushi. Freshly made, reasonably priced, you really can’t beat it. It’s super tiny so I always get my stuff to go, but it can still get way crowded while you’re waiting. But it’s worth it to take home and enjoy.

5 Stars for the best tasting bubble vanilla chai tea I’ve ever had. The women who makes them also works at the cash register is so, very friendly. Always serve you with a warm smile. Fast service!

A cool tiny sushi shop with nice owners who serve perfectly good Japanese food and sushi. I have seen people on Unilocal give bad reviews based on the boba drinks and small space But people who only come to sushi places for boba are not good judges of what makes for a great sushi place. I advise them to continuing getting their boba from giant suburban strip malls and leave the reviews for cool little Japanese sushi places to people who actually consume things other than sugar drinks and Starbucks frappa-craps, and eat at giant suburban chain«restaurants» with«plenty of seating.»

Jelly bubbles and cold tea… Cute tiny little place. Ordered a coconut bubble tea and my bestie got the Thai iced tea bubble tea… we both loved it. Mine was a bit more on the slushy side but still good. Also, the woman behind the counter was the cutest little woman ever.

Not particularly friendly but good bubble tea. I’d stop in again and try a milk tea. But, unfortunately I cant comment on sushi!

I absolutely LOVE Sushi Express. It was where I tried Spicy Tekka and Philly Rolls. Yes it is lower scale and pretty much the«fast food» version of sushi, but that does not take away from it’s made to order-ness and the quality and freshness. The taste is still great on your pallet and they still offer the same things as at a sit down restaurant. The place is very narrow and there is a small wall side bar to sit at and wait for your food to be made where you may watch TV, or play connect 4, or make funny faces in the large wall sized mirror :] The customer service is wonderful– friendly. I have been going for years! There is a lot I wish I could remember to say, but I think you guys should try it out and while you are there pick up some bubble tea, there are many flavors to choose from. My favorite by far is strawberry milk bubble tea. Let us know how it goes!

I stopped in here with some friends today so they could try boba tea for the first time… And i regret it. The tea was gross… Bland… And very artificially flavored. I know that does not make sense but it is honestly the only way to describe it. I love boba but this place was over-priced and under delivered! Never again… I am sticking to Bubble Tea House!!! Another issue, i felt like a sardine in there. There were 5 of us and i was about to have a panic attack bc it was soo lacking in space. First and last time!!!

I’m too scared to actually try the food here, but the bubble tea is okay. My roomie got sick from an unagi roll here. Stay away!

After feeling the boba tea craving, I happened upon Sushi Express and made an impulse purchase. Not the best boba I’ve had, not the worst, but definitely the most expensive at $ 5. Also, not impressed with how dirty this galley restaurant appears.

I haven’t had sushi from here — just bubble tea. I was on Thayer earlier and stopped in for some bubble tea. First of all, this place is TINY. I have closets bigger than their«seating area», which is a tiny counter space with 2 or 3 stools. They seemed to have a good selection and I ordered a kiwi green tea. It was awful. It wasn’t even tea — it was room temperature water blended with a powder mix that separated after about 10 seconds. It tasted chalky and way too artificially flavored. The boba was uncooked so when I bit in it was super hard. Waste of money, I’ll stick to Bubble Tea House on Westminster.

Hey, you know that scene in the original Charlie & the Chocolate Factory when everyone first enters the factory and gets into that crazy, tight-packed«elevator» and come out the same door but to a different room? Yeah, it feels like that. Long, narrow passage to get to the cashier – don’t know how the people leave from the front with people blocking them from behind! The boba was really horrible. The drink itself was at once too watery and too sweet. The tapioca pearls were hard and gross. The wait was pretty ridiculous as well. All in all, a bad experience.
