Came to Providence for a business trip. Stopped by to get a quick lunch. The service was great and the staff was friends. Street tacos I ordered weren’t amazing but still good.

Be advised that restaurant guests not staying at the hotel will be fleeced out of $ 9 for parking. This was once a complimentary service but no longer. $ 9 an hour(the time that we spent there) would be outrageous even in a larger city. Providence has many fine dining options just minutes from this location — explore them all. We will take our future celebratory occasions to another location.

Was on a buisness trip and this happened to be the restaurant at the hotel. The staff was really nice and friendly! Breakfast is extremely over priced and should seriously think about lowering there breakfast buffet price. You can literally eat lunch and dinner for less than breakfast. The first day we went for lunch and it was seriously really good. So, the next night we went for dinner and that’s where things took a turn for the worse. I had to send my steak back twice. Asked for medium rare came out well done, the next time it came out medium well. Manager came over very pleasant offered to fix it and make something else. I said I’m affraid if I order something medium rare again it won’t come out and I am really hungry at this point. She gave me her word that it would be done properly so I ordered a burger instead of the steak. She gave it to me on the house since this was round three and offered to buy me a drink which was nice. Overall it was okay but seriously you need to consider lowering prices for breakfast! There is a DD where you can get a quick meal for $ 5 to $ 6 which is reasonable, eggs and bacon should cost $ 20 especially when you’re on a buisness trip and have to eat out 3 meals a day.

Service here is amazing, food was great, had the pork street tacos, very nicely done, just needs a little heat, but that’s just me, had the French onion burger, really nice, the sweet potato fries are yummy, overall it’s pricey just a bit, but well worth it. Again my server she had it on point. Manager take note.

Dear Mr. Shula, If I could rate this less than 1 star I would. As consistent with the management for the Miami Dolphins for the last 30 years your Providence, RI. Restaurant has a major problem. During one of the larger construction industry shows Feb.11th2016 I decided to bring 10 of my colleagues to your establishment for a simple lunch as I’ve been to many of your other places before and they have been excellent. The restaurant at 1:00 was not very full so we did not have a problem waiting 5−10minutes for them to set up a table for us. However…after 1:00hr waiting for nothing more than a few burgers and sandwiches I can say I’m extremely disappointed in the lack of preparation shown for the lunch hour rush. ESPECIALLY with a trade show a block away where you would have been exceptionally busy on a Thursday and Friday. Even after waiting an hour we were then treated to substandard food preparation and one of my colleagues never even got his meal. The 3 staff members who were there tried their best to save a sinking ship and whoever the bartender was on staff deserves a raise as she did all she could to not only service the bar clientele but help in the severely understaffed dining room also. I believe you once said, «Sucess is not forever, and failure isn’t fatal.» Unfortunately this experience and lunch was…

Great service from Stacey! We were staying in the Hilton and were in town just for the night. We stopped here for a late lunch after visiting my toddler niece and nephew and were were tired, we were hungry and we were thirsty! They had Foolproof on tap so we needed to get one and I also got a Narragansett. We decided to both order the French Onion Burger and it was great, and only 13 bucks! It came with caramelized onions, double gruyère cheese, garlic mayo, crushed croutons and I decided to get these delicious sweet potato fries, he got the regular fries and said they were delicious. Stacey also recommended trying the chipotle mayo(I don’t love chipotle but he does and loved the mayo). It was a nice lunch, we sat at the bar at a high two top and looked outside at the city. Not a great view as it was mostly a parking lot and street with some buildings around but it was nice all the same. I definitely recommend Shula’s 347 Grill. On the way out we even noticed a picture of Shula and Bill Belichick so that was cool. There was also a cute Bruin’s player eating his lunch of water, salad and he got sweet potato fries(just like me!) Our server was chatting with him as he comes in frequently and when he left she asked us if we were hockey fans(I am not really a hockey fan) but thought it was nice that she told us. I kept staring at him because I did think he looked familiar. Thanks for a great start of our one day Providence adventure, Stacey! We will be back!

Stopped here after the P-Bruins game for a bite/drink. Prices were what you would expect for downtown, a bit high. I had a burger, which was a bit overdone, not much flavor. The fries were pretty good, the beer was cold but overpriced. The service was wonderful, both bartenders introduced themselves when we walked in which I LOVE. Service is so impersonal nowadays, clearly the staff here has figured that out! They do have Sunday football specials and some different food and drink specials throughout the week, but I probably won’t be back. There are too many wonderful eateries in Providence to waste time at a sub-par chain.

The service was good. the cocktail was good. And not talking about value for money in this review — because my company paid for it. I had driven all day, stuck in traffic on 95 for 6 hours — and was staying at the Hilton. I didn’t really care so much about the cost– I just wanted a nice cocktail and a steak, without having to walk more than 1 block. I ordered the Cowboy steak with a loaded baked potato and grilled asparagus. I ordered medium rare — and it was medium rare. Now on to the steak review. It looked like a steak — but it had no flavor at all. It was a little tough — but I don’t mind that if a steak is full of flavor. But this tasted like it was cooked over a cardboard fire? Or maybe sawdust? I love a steak cooked on a wood fire — so smokey flavor is great in my book. I almost wonder if it was a bargain basement steak — cooked on a grate to give some char marks — and then drizzled with liquid smoke. But I have to say — the liquid smoke might have been better than whatever this was. Potato was ok but had the texture of a leftover baked potato heated in a microwave the next day. The asparagus was just like the steak. It was obviously asparagus — but I can’t figure out why I didn’t like it — other than it had the same bitter cardboard smoke flavor as my steak. I promise — if the textures weren’t so different — I wouldn’t have been able to distinguish the two. I generally only bother to review places I really like — but couldn’t let this one go. I would go to the bar for a drink if I was tired and the company was paying. But I wouldn’t order food again. Unless it was bar food snacks? But then again, maybe not…

I ate here this evening, wanting to try it all week. I had the steak sandwich with fries. The steak was a bit overdone. I ordered medium-rare and received medium, which I discovered after I separated the two halves. However, after taking the first bite, it was so tender and delicious that I just decided to keep it. What truly surprised me were the French fries, which were out of this world. Service was quick, timely, and quite attentive. The only reason I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is due to the overcooking of my steak as mentioned. I would really like to award 4 ½ stars, though.

As a life long Dolphins fan, it baffles me how I have yet to is it this place before now. As a lover of good steaks, it also baffles me. Visited Shula’a on Saturday night and was very impressed. We arrived around 8:00 and it wasn’t busy at all. We were immediately seated and our waiter Dave(or David) greeted us and he was great the whole time. My «perfect margarita» was ok but lacked the tartness I look for in a margarita. My girlfriends berry mojito was great. For entrees I got the NY Strip with roasted corn and smashed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly and possibly the best I’ve ever had, as was the roasted corn. The smashed potatoes were excellent as well. My girlfriend has the ahi tuna which she loved as well. A little pricey but it was expected, you pay for what you get at a nice place like this. Definitely an option for another date night.

Gave it two stars on location and view. But the food was awful! $ 13 for a over cooked dry burger and frozen French fries. I don’t understand how a cook can overlook anything at a upscale steak house. And why they wouldn’t cut fresh French fries. At these prices If you want a steak run not walk to capital grille sienna or Flemings. If you want a burger goto Harry’s or Luxe! This should be called the Hilton café because this is hotel food…

Readers Digest: If you have to, or are at an event next door, stop by here for drinks. Skip this for anything else. Long Version: I am pretty certain the only reason or way this place stays open is because it is attached to the Hilton, which I must say is a great Hilton. The bar for Shulas is great. But I would never eat here if it wasn’t for room service or the free breakfast buffet for our business. With that said, the breakfast buffett is very spectacular. However, it is not worth $ 20+. $ 10 yes. $ 20 no. That is ridiculous. But it is very good, with fresh fruit, all sorts of typical breakfast food, and an egg station. I cannot speak for the waitstaff for anything but breakfast, but they are very courtious and very friendly. If you eat enough it almost makes it all worth it. As for dinner/lunch, it is still overpriced and the quality is on par with that of a typical chain family restaurant. The bar area is very nice, and it is a very well stocked bar. It can fill up with bodies quick though if thre is an event next door happening. This place should certainly try harder, when there are plenty of better places to eat that is only a 5 minute walk away.

I stayed in the Providence Hilton hotel that the Shula 347 is attached to for about 4 weeks. I had breakfast here every day and during restaurant week, I had dinner here as well. The food was at Shula’s was pretty good. It was clean, and fresh. My only complaint is that I found the booths to be a slightly awkward height relative to the table, but the chairs were comfortable. Breakfast every morning was pretty normal for a buffet style breakfast. For the restaurant week menu, I ordered a caesar salad, a steak, and a chocolate cake with a pint of Guinness. The steak was juicy. It came with a side of mashed potatoes and asparagus. I normally dont eat asparagus, but I found it surprisingly enjoyable. The huge chocolate cake slice was a really great finish to my meal. The staff at the restaurant were all very nice and attentive.

First time here. The location right at the Hilton and next to the Dunk makes it convenient to people in the area. We ordered the 8oz Filet Mignon and the 14 oz NY Strip… both medium, which means pink center. When the steaks arrived, they were more medium well… no pink center. The manager asked to cut into the steak to make sure it was to our liking, we noticed that there was no pink in the center… but we decided to just go ahead and eat them. They were not tender, not juicy. For dessert we ordered the Dulce de Leche cheesecake and the key lime pie… none of them were very good… the dulce de leche tasted more like molten toffee than caramel. The key lime pie was very very sour… Brittany, our server was excellent, attentive and friendly. It seemed like the kitchen was slow tonight… but she did a great job, nonetheless. Not impressed, not planning to return.

Was expecting better. I just ordered the Ahi tuna app and the polenta fries and both dishes seemed to be made from frozen food. They lacked flavor and were very small portions. I also think the selection of Alcohol at the bar is very dated, like 1990’s. The place is is upscale and the servers are nice but just be warned that the Food is sub par.

I’ve visited this and other locations off and on over the years, and this is what I’ve consistently found throughout the chain. Food: 3.5. Middle of the road steak place. The seafood appetizers here are above average compared to others in the chain. The desserts are surprisingly good, even though they’re sourced from out of state. I probably like the desserts here more than the steak, actually. Bar: 2. Cocktails uniformly taste like mouthwash. Stick with the wine and beer. Service: 4.5. Service has always been attentive and polite. Pricing: 3. Compared to other steakhouses, it’s average or a little less expensive. Overall 3 stars. Good to visit on occasion, but I won’t be a regular. If you happen to have a large group or picky eaters in your group though, Shula’s is a pretty good option due to menu variety, reasonable cost compared to other steak joints, and easy ability to book through on your Unilocal/Opentable app on your phone.
