On a trip to Providence with my family, we realized there was a lack of good places for kids in the area. So, for dinner we went to Luxe burger bar! Despite the lazy hostess who wouldn’t look up from her iphone and wasn’t giving us a table, the place was really good! Cokes were fresh, and the fried pickles starter were really good! They were not too small, and easy to eat(rare.) Also, the make your own mac and cheese was very good, I ordered it with bacon. It was very filling though. The rest of my family got the build your own burger, and they loved it!!! I would recommend it!

The fact that I live walking distance to this place is dangerous. I usually always do the build your own burger but the other day I tried the mother of all burgers and wow was I blown away! It will definitely be my go to burger from now on. I always get my burgers on the rarer side and they always cook it exactly how I order it. Ambiance is bustling. There is palpable energy in this restaurant. Dining is super fun here. There are always sports games playing. They have an extensive beer selection as well.

So second time we come, nice nacho appetizer very hardy. The burgers are just ok, tasty and juicy, but the service is kinda slow and the guy host wasn’t to good sitting people. Nice atmosphere tho.

Just the average place. Burger seems frozen. Staff was friendly and attentive. Many different toppings you can add to the burger which is nice, but it didn’t WOW me. I recommend if you want a quick bite and nothing fancy.

Great place that you will get super full from! Great service! The only down side is the parking. So I guess don’t drive there or drive and then walk! Can’t go wrong! Gluten free options!

I crawled in here after a long day of flying and not eating(seriously, airport food? Ugh). I sat at the bar and asked for a local beer. I mentioned I liked more of a Blue Moon beer and was asked if I would like to try Flying Jenny. So generous. How many times have you gotten a beer just to find out you didn’t care for it? It was a match! I ordered the buffalo BYOB in a wrap with sautéed mushrooms. I am a self proclaimed mushroom aficionado and these mushrooms and this burger — in a wrap(the bun is always too much) — was amazing. I can’t put it into words. I would’ve taken a photo but once it came, I picked it up and didn’t put it back down. The ambience was nice. Casual, clean, modern. And the 90s alternative music — good touch. Oh and they have wasabi mayo!!! Year round!!! After a long day, I’m glad I came here. I finished off with a crème brûlée and waddled over to the mall.

The first time I went to Luxe was more than five years ago — the summer of 2010– we went there so often that eventually we ended up naming a Build a Bear(actually a stuffed dog) after this establishment. Even back then, I wouldn’t say that Luxe had the highest quality food, but it was a place that served comfort. We always had a great time, and the food hit the spot. Some really great memories here of trivia, of ridiculous food challenges(the Frankenstein! seeing it finished firsthand is not a pretty sight), of dates, of friendships beginning and so it’s only fitting my Unilocaling starts here too. Menu seems to have changed quite a bit, now more accommodating for those who are vegetarian or gluten free. Always went for the build your own burger option, which usually was enough to satisfy the entire party. While some might not be available anymore, I can recommend the kobe beef, pulled pork, caramelized onions, guac, and their BBQ sauce. We would also usually get fries that we topped with cheese or gravy just because we could. For dessert, the jumbo cookie comes out piping hot, topped with ice cream and can easily be shared with several people. Food coma well deserved… Service is kind and fairly attentive… they won’t rush you, even if it’s a busy night, which I appreciate. Can be a bit loud, depending on the night, but adds to the atmosphere. Luxe will always be a special place to me for catching up with friends, both old and new– maybe it can be that for you, too!

My roommate and my friend and I ordered the Mac and cheese for delivery. My friend and I got Mac and cheese with meat and my roommate did not because she’s a vegetarian. When we get the food the containers were dripping and food was spilling out. The portions of my friends meals were tiny. But the main problem is they put tiny tiny tiny pieces of bacon in my vegetarian roommates Mac and cheese. This is a giant problem. They didn’t even offer to send her a new one. Also the Mac is just okay, definitely not worth 12.99 per order.

So it was my first experience here. I’ve only heard good things about the food never about the staff. However my visit was very unsatisfactory. The host sat us down and told us that our server would be right over. The wait felt like a century we were all apprehensive for beverages and food. As the story goes if it’s bad it only gets worse and it did. The appetizer took a whole 30 minutes again I want to state the food is phenomenal. It’s funny because tables that were sat after we sat were served entrees before our appetizer came out. I believe the waitress’ name was Nicole she seemed bubbly but came off very snooty. Let’s just say that I will never be back. It’s sad that an establishment with exceptional food has terrible service. I will never be back and will tell all my friends to never come here again.

Why did I give Luxe Burger Bar a 5-Star review? Let me tell you. 1. I’ve been here more times than I can count on my hands and I’ve consistently had great food, good service, and a wonderful experience. Never have I thought I should’ve gone somewhere else, and never have I left feeling like I got less than what I paid for. 2. Two words: fried pickles. These are the best fried pickles I’ve ever tasted, and I’ve had a lot. They always come out wicked hot. The cute baskets they come out in are an added bonus. 3. I never want to go anywhere else when asked where I want to eat Downtown. Luxe is always my first choice. Always.

The burgers were juicy and cooked just right. The only reason why I gave them four stars. The bartender put in the orders at different times. We had to wait longer for one burger. We didn’t eat all at the same time. Not a big thing but it did cause a four star rating.

I was fully prepared to hate on Luxe based on the mediocre reviews, spacey hostess, and slightly obnoxious décor. Actually, LBB is a solid burger joint with a good range of indulgent options. The hostess at Harry’s recommended Luxe since there were no tables at Harry’s. Turns out, they’re owned by the same restaurant group so I should not have been surprised. The service here was LIGHTNING fast, especially since the place was pretty crowded with a mix of people coming from RI Comic Con and watching the football game. I’m a big fan of fried pickles, and these($ 7) did not disappoint. They came out piping hot and didn’t fall apart when bitten into. The batter itself had some spice to it, which was awesome. As for the main dishes, Luxe is most known for the build your own burgers($ 9-$ 15+), but there were plenty of other choices, like grilled chicken sandwiches, salads, and baked mac ‘n’ cheese. I had a chicken Cobb salad($ 12), which was huge and not overloaded with dressing. What about the burgers? The Gold Label Hereford patties were adequately thick and juicy. The bison burger(one of my favorites) was also super moist and paired well with blue cheese. The bacon jam was really sweet, so I would maybe stick with regular bacon if you want that unadulterated porky flavor. The only disappointment was the fries; they were thin, droopy, and pale – not much of a step above fast food fries. I would recommend subbing onion rings for an extra $ 1.29. Overall, Luxe isn’t particularly inventive or upscale, but it’s definitely a good place to consider if you’re craving a burger or some bar food. And if you go, definitely get the fried pickles!

When your in providence and your looking for a fun night with friends. Luxe is that place you have to go. This is essential during the weekend. You get to make your own burger how awesome is that. And they have trivia nights so sweet. The burgers are great the service is very nice and it’s located right in the heart of providence.

To start, let me just say the burgers are BANGIN… So if it were just for the burgers this place would definitely get 5 stars. But there were some things wrong with the server. When we first walked in, the hostess was very nice. They found us a seat and got us sat almost immediately. The server took a very long time to get to us and when she finally was, she only took drinks. Then, after about 15 minutes of waiting she finally came back to take our order. The food didn’t take very long but the server never checked up on us and it almost seemed like we were being ignored. I was pretty disappointed because I’ve heard such AMAZING things about Luxe(and believe me the burgers are amazing) but the service just really let me down. Id definitely recommend going here to eat. It’s probably best to go earlier maybe for lunch because it does get busy.

The location was nice(other than the $ 8 to park). The service was very slow and not very efficient despite the fact that it was about 9pm and they were less than half of their occupancy. The food tasted pretty good. The Nachos were HUGE! The Buffalo Chips & Blue Cheese were basically homemade chips with a buffalo powdered spice sprinkled on them. The«buffalo sauce» I requested was Frank’s in a cup. Lol Overall: decent food, below average service, and over priced food!($ 60 for two glasses of wine, shared a nacho appetizer, and a buffalo chips appetizer + $ 8 for parking + a $ 12 tip for BELOW average service)

Luxe Burger Bar is a great place to go if you are tired of the typical constraints of a normal menu. Here you can build your own burger or mac and cheese and have it just the way you want. My wife went with the burger and the biggest letdown appeared to be the fries. A good burger paired with poor fries not a good match! The fries were thin, the shoestring variety, and they looked and tasted like something you might find at Burger King. I ordered the mac and cheese this time around and put in pulled pork and bacon. It was good, but it could have been vastly improved by removing the build your own options and replacing them with specific flavors that added more complementary ingredients. Overall it was an enjoyable, but largely forgettable, meal.

Readers Digest: Cool area, nice place, OK prices. OK food. Best Seller Version: I have been to Providence many times and have always wanted to stop here. I finally decided to but wow what a let down. I give it three stars barely and I will try it again but wow. The area it is located in is very cool. Quite a few other places to eat and drink all in one nicely laid out area. The inside and outside of LUXE seemed quite nice as well. Despite what someone else said I thought the beer selection was good. I consider myself a bit of a beer snob too. The prices are a tad high, but you can get a $ 12 me if you keep it simple. But it is easy to get up to $ 20. We started with the fried pickles. I had a Dogfish beer and the girlfriend had one of their hard shakes which she liked a lot. The fried pickles were above average. We both did the build your own burger. Here is where the let down started. She got a burger with a side of smothered fries. The fries were OK and we’re smothered. Honestly they reminded me of some frozen brand fries labeled Fast Food Fries. I got a burger with onion rings. It was a $ 1.50 add on. I got three onion rings. And they were not that good. Maybe they should use the same pickle batter. The burger was about average. We both got the cheapest gold label. But it was barely average. The bacon on mine reminded me of Subway bacon. If I am at a burger bar, and laying $ 12 for a burger, I expect a decent piece of bacon. The buns seemed bleak and uninviting. I will give this place another try just because I would like to try one of the expensive beef options. But if you really want to be a burger joint, go to Atlanta and visit Vortex. That is what I was expecting.

Best nachos… EVER! Stay tuned for burger review! Ok, burgers were ‘just’ OK. Not nearly as memorable as the nachos. Med/rare was medium, medium was med/well(according to their definition). Fries were average at best, onion rings were big with a thick crispy coating. Wouldn’t race back for the burger, but would eat the nachos 3 nights a week. Beer was COLD… our waitress Jess was SUPER personable, and really added to the overall experience!

Let’s Be Honest First and foremost, highly overpriced. The place serves hamburgers. I am not saying the burgers aren’t good. The burgers either build your own or specialty with a side are going to cost at least basically 20 bucks with tax and tip. Think of it like this, 2 burgers with sides, an app, and a couple of mixed drinks for you and your companion your talking 90 – 100 bucks with tax and tip. You just spent 100 dollars on burgers and fries. The same restaurant group owns Harry’s Burger Bar and you can get a few sliders each and few drinks for half that price. I actually like their sliders better. On a positive note, they usually have a pretty good beer selection. Tip: If you want a great burger goto the bar at the Capital Grill and get the cheeseburger with the truffle fries. Thanks

So we came here for trivia night, which my buddies brother runs. It is a good time, I would say definitely go if you like trivia, it’s a good one. The place was pretty busy and this is one of those places where you build your own burger and check off the things you want. The cost of burgers is just annoying now a days especially when you build your own. You just forget what your putting on there and then next thing you know you have a $ 20 burger! We did start out with the calamari and that was ok. The pieces of calamari was really tiny. Odd. Must have been baby squid? I went with the turkey burger, pepper jack, LTO, Egg, and Garlic Aioli. The turkey burger was ok, a little on the dry side and the egg was over cooked so it did not have a good runny yolk to help with the dryness. I did order the cheddar tots and I liked those. Good luck trying to find a good beer on draft here. It is all bud light, coors, etc. Garbage selection. I did find a Clown Shoes bottle on the menu surprisingly but that was about it. Overall, I am getting tired of all the burger places overcharging for ground whateveranimalyouaregoingtoeat. It is just becoming to common. I also do not like the build your own burger feature. I want to experiecne a version of someones creation, not my own. Oh well. On to the next burger factory I guess.
