I love the cashew milk options, but you can’t go wrong with a class: chocolate and vanilla twist with sprinkles. So happy I found this place and will be making many visits in the future!

This is the best vegan(non-dairy) ice cream I’ve ever had. Being lactose intolerant has it’s advantages I guess. I had a scoop of the Thai Iced Tea and a scoop of the Almond Joyful. They were both made with coconut. The Thai Iced Tea was super creamy and had a light flavor. The Almond Joyful had a strong almond flavor which I liked. My fiancée hit the head on the nail and got a scoop of the Strawberry Tart and a scoop of the Key Lime Pie. The Strawberry Tart had bits of real strawberries and had just the right tart flavor. The Key Lime Pie was so good I would have to say it is my favorite ice cream. Bits of pie crust crumble in the ice cream just went so well with the key lime pie flavor. I really hope they start selling pints of ice cream because I will be the first in line to get some!

So nice to not have to chase the truck anymore! The store offers a selection of hard ice cream as well as vanilla and chocolate soft serve. Lots of topping and all of it completely dairy free! The coffee ice cream was excellent! It’s located in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of street parking. A must stop if you are vegan or lactose intolerant. They will also work with you if you have other food allergies or sensitivities.

Finally tried this place yesterday and was impressed! Really cute store front, curious to check out the truck. Ordered a cone of vanilla soft serve with sprinkles. Tasted slightly different than regular soft serve(obviously), but was still good. I look forward to going back in the near future!

To be fair, I’m not vegan and thus haven’t had the occasion to sample many varieties of dairy-free ice cream. So I’m trying to be especially generous with this review knowing that for those avoiding dairy, this will be the holy grail of ice cream stores. For me, nothing beats Ben and Jerry’s, but I’m glad that there’s an East Side alternative for my vegan friends… and for myself when I feel like something different. So far, I’ve tried cookies and cream, peanut butter chunk, and the soft serve. The soft serve in particular has a noticeable soy taste, but everything else tastes surprisingly«normal.» The texture of the hard ice cream is slightly more slushy than your typical ice cream, but it still melts smoothly. My favorite flavor has been the PB chunk, but I’d recommend trying a lot of things to see what you like, since the flavors might strike you differently. They’ll gladly give you two samples on a popsicle stick! The employees are friendly and passionate about the products, but when I was here they were busy painstakingly weighing every scoop. I can appreciate the desire for consistency, but it was a little awkward standing there for two minutes while an employee added and subtracted the same tablespoon-sized amount from my portion. I guess since one scoop comes to only $ 3.78 with tax, I really can’t complain about stinginess. I love how they’re renovated the space: East Side Creamery always bummed me out, and the whimsical paint job and cat videos on loop here have completely changed the atmosphere. They also have a small pantry of vegan groceries like marshmallows and soy curls. Vegan baked goods will be available soon! Is the ice cream here as creamy and decadent as regular ice cream? To be honest, no. But it’s still enough to scratch the itch for a sweet treat. I’ll definitely be back, and maybe I’ll even go wild and try a topping next time!

The best vegan ice cream truck is now the best vegan ice cream parlour! So happy they finally opened a storefront. The vanilla is the standout flavor of soft-serve, though I always go for the twist. The soft-serve also comprises the base of the Unicorn, which is like a DQ Blizzard(but legally distinct, of course). I recommend Chick-o-Stick as one of your mix-ins, it adds a nice crunch to it. Not into soft-serve? No problem. There’s also a mighty array of firmer flavors made with a variety of vegan bases. But nicest of all, they offer several vegan snacks, such as jerky and nutrition bars, as well as the oft-elusive VeganEgg egg replacer and nutritional yeast. Please give these wonderful people and their amazing ice cream your money.

Amazing vegan ice cream! Being a visitor to Providence, this place turned up on my conquest for noms. It delivered! The cookies and cream ice cream was the bomb, and the chocolate pb shake was on point. Friendly owner, great service and some other food stuffs for sale in the counter too like Go Max Go bars, Primal Strips and Soy Curls. The cat compilation videos on the flat screen are a nice touch. The only negative is they opened at 2 and I got there at 1:50. Oh woe is me. ;) Recommended if vegan and an ice cream lover!

Finally went to the shop! They are so nice there and the lady even let me sample flavors. They are brand new! I still love Like No Udder but I am more into their soft serve. There hard-ice cream is good don’t get me wrong but they still need to work on the consistency of it. It seems a bit more icy while they have their soft serve that is perfect and smooth and ludicrous.

I became a fan last year following the food truck around just to get my sweet fix. From The Providence Flea to the Hope Street area I was satisfied knowing you were there for me. I immediately fell in love with the Creamsicle and the soft serve chocolate! Tonight on a chilly evening, a couple of days after the store opened my daughter and I jump in the car on a mission to treat ourselves we arrived at the the new, wonderful, perfectly located Like No Udder ice cream shop! I got parking on the street easily(no meters). It was bright, clean and sparkly new. We were happily greeted as we made our decisions — Thai tea and rocky road. A few tables were empty in the good size parlor area definitely bring the kiddos and friends. The flat screen TV was playing cute cat videos for some light entertainment and music was softly heard. As always it was delicious, sweet, goodness and I can’t be happier that Like No Udder has a store!

Like No Udder is amazing!!! Back when I lived on the east side of Providence I would constantly have one eye open for stalking the LNU truck. I now live in Boston but it was totally worth driving down to Providence now that LNU has a storefront. I went on Mother’s Day. The new store is in the perfect location just off Wickenden St. The owern is just the loveliest, friendliest woman. They have many flavors of vegan ice cream and many toppings, which makes for a great sundae. The store also sells random vegan goodies, like candy bars, chips and vegan jerky. Love this place! Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in town.

I track this truck down all summer. It’s such a special treat being able to get ice cream like everyone else in the world. I usually get some chocolate and vanilla swirl action, but the shakes are amazing as well. They also offer some vegan snacks like candy bars. The owner of like no udder is great as well! Definitely check it out.

Like no udder offers the most delicious vegan ice cream, which is not to say that it’s delicious although it is vegan, but it’s delicious because it’s delicious ice cream! Their chocolate vanilla twist is especially great if you try it with their peanut sauce!

I tried Like No Udder at the grand reopening of Woodstock Farm Sanctuary. My finace got their daily special, a shirley temple(chocolate+vanilla soft-serve with pomegranate soda), and I got a creamsicle drink. I had a few bites of his softserve and was surprised at how much it tasted like Mister Softee. To be honest, I thought it tasted exactly like Mister Softee from what I remember. He said it was the most satisfying vegan ice-cream he’s had that tasted like dairy ice cream. My creamsicle drink did taste like a creamsicle in liquid form, I was really happy with it. I only wish they were around NYC, but I guess I’m taking a vegan food pilgrimage to Rhode Island someday now.

I found this truck at the food truck festival Monday night. I am not a vegan or dairy free so I am sure those people who are must be really happy they have an option. That being said, if you take soft serve ice cream and make it vegan and dairy free… then what is it? It’s a whole lot of soy. Blech. The aftertaste that soy always gives me was in the«ice cream.» The lady selling it was very nice and the different options were nice so I don’t want to downgrade it too much, but the taste is definitely an acquired taste. It might be just right for you, but it wasn’t for me.

This is my favorite. We are so lucky to have vegan soft-serve in Rhode Island — and from a truck! I’ve only ever gotten the cone because I love the novelty of getting a vegan soft serve ice cream cone. It is delicious! Also, they are always super nice no matter how long the line gets.

Years had passed before I was able to finally connect with this hereto elusive purple van. When I finally did, it was safe to say that I was disappointed. Don’t get it twisted, there certainly needs to be a cruelty-free presence on the mobile food scene and I am glad that LNU has held on strong, but please, take pride in your ingredients. I ordered a choc-PB shake for more dollars than I would have liked to shell out and was outright shocked to see an enormous tub of Reese’s peanut butter as the source of creamy-nuttiness: ROASTEDPEANUTS; SUGAR; CONTAINS2% ORLESSOF: HYDROGENATEDVEGETABLEOIL(RAPESEED, COTTONSEED, ANDSOYBEANOILS); SALT; PEANUTOIL; MONOGLYCERIDES; MOLASSES; CORNSTARCH. Convenience aside, I can make an all natural version, with far more flavor, for far less. I am not saying it has to be super healthy, but yikes. Come on, you’re giving us weirdos an ill rep.

Homegirl may have a red hot and robust personality, but truth be told, homegirl has a sensitive stomach needing touches of love and care when it comes to food. With that being said, dairy and I are no longer seeing each other. If you think for one second dairy can infiltrate homegirls hot bod and come in like a wrecking ball your terribly confused and must be trippin. When I heard about this soy-based frozen confection, I unconsciously salivated on my supah fine and one of a kind rhinestone embossed suede jacket. You heard me right. Holla. I went detective mode when I approached the«Like No Udder» truck. –The line was long. This means either good food or free food. –average consumer looked hippie and or Rastafarian in their mid 30’s. I assumed the ingredients were organic or at least quality. –the prices were what I like to call a mid-sized sedan; averagely priced to start with but pricey add ins that you can’t live without. Since homegirl is a used car kind of gal, I went with plain old chocolate ice cream in a cup. No distractions, i.e. Cookie crumbs, jimmies etc– just me and some soy based freezyness. Theoretically, homegirl digs this idea. Dairy free + chocolate= homegirl version of Cinderella who will happily wash the nastiest of floors while singing opera. But the execution was not completely there for me. It lacked chocolatey-ness, which in this case means one less star for thier review. I honestly favor me some So Delicious chocolate soy ice cream over Like No Udders’. The idea of a traveling vegan ice cream truck sounds as good as Aladins magic carpet ride, but for homegirl, it was more like a damp towel ride flown by a Shell gas station attendant.

There’s a spot in Brooklyn I loved for vegan junk food that recently closed. I haven’t lived in New York in over 4 years but I would make an(at least) yearly pilgrimage and, with it gone, I wondered how we would ever get delicious vegan milkshakes ever again. Cue Like No Udder — a food truck serving non-dairy treats such as ice cream, milk shakes, floats, etc. I work in social media and still can’t get over simple amenities that make food service so much easier like a GPS on the food truck letting you know exactly where it is at all times. How many times have I been disappointed that I JUUUST missed a truck or texted that Poco Loco number to no avail? No worries with Like No Udder — if they’re not out, there won’t be a GPS reading. Simple. The woman who was serving the sweets was awesome. She was very patient with us as we asked a lot of questions and also simultaneously tried to wrangle our curious maniac dog. The milkshake we split(some sort of Peanut Butter Chocolate combo) hit the nail square on the head for a dairy-free milkshake. I also purchased a piece of the Hot and Spicy Jerky which was pretty good but also kind of sticky in texture — was hoping for it to be a little drier. All in all we love this«place»(if it’s mobile, is it a place?) but the prices are a bit steep as, unfortunately, most vegan options in general are.

Every time I go on Unilocal it always shows like no udder as the top restaurant. It taunts me because I am lactose intolerant and have been all around Providence but have never seen the truck. Finally one day when I was walking out of the bubble tea house I saw the truck. I just had to go try the ice cream even though I had a bubble tea in my hand. Me and my mother were so excited that we found the truck. The man was really friendly. We had a nice conversation. We were dying to try the soft serve. I had the twist of vanilla&chocolate. Yum. It was the right consistency for soft serve unlike some other vegan soft serve I have had. It was flavorful and delicious. It doesn’t taste like traditional soft serve but no duh it’s vegan. You just have to get used to the no dairy/egg flavor. Once you do, you will be amazed. Next time I find this truck I would like to try the vegan candy bars!

I first learned about Like No Udder while doing a search for Kosher lunch options. I certainly didn’t expect to find a vegan dessert truck, on the city streets of Providence, driven by a genuine kind-food advocate. This venture sure is a lot different than her Screaming Vegan days of the past — that title being a play on the old saying: «How do you know if someone is a vegan?» «Oh don’t worry, they’ll tell you!» Karen, thank you for your unassuming and easygoing ways. You can typically find the funky purple truck at a local cultural event or darting over to the East Side. Check their Facebook page for a daily schedule and route. I’m stoked to see many Unilocalers, of all diet preferences, writing excellent and diverse reviews on this small, unique and woman-owned business. I gave up a dairy-free lifestyle a long time ago because of the debate around soy so now I have to settle for the watermelon or mango Slushie. I’m also a big fan of the Cleo bar sold here. They used to be available at most health food stores but now they’re difficult to find, a nice alternative to the tempting RPBC. This food truck also sells a variety of other items including vegan sandwiches and meatless jerky. Cash only.
