Husband decide that we needed to try this place, and he’s not normally a beer drinker but it was a good choice. We tried the beer sampler with the beer battered pickle spears and the beer battered cod and WOW! Everything is so good! Great beer! I’m not normally an ale drinker or IPA for that matter, but the selection they gave us were so flavorful and unique. The batter they used for the cod and pickles is light and flaky, not greasy or heavy. This place is now at the top of our«mini getaway» list for day trip destination eating and drinking!

My husband and I were looking for a new place to eat in Prosser. Whitstran Brewing Co was an excellent choice. Our burgers were delicious, the beer was excellent and the cole slaw and sweet potato waffle fries were outstanding. We will be adding this place to «our favorites» list of places to eat in Prosser. When we asked how long they have been in business, the server told us that the place has been thru a few hands and the new owners were making changes. I am hoping this place will be here the next time we visit Prosser. I would like to try the fish n chips next time.

Whitstran gets two stars for attempting beer styles that no one else in Southeastern Washington even tries to make. The beer can be good but most of it is contaminated by bacteria(I’m a national beer judge, you can’t get away with that). The food is not inspired or that interesting. Hopefully they will either get their game together or close up shop.

Let me start with what was right. Beer, good. Fries, excellent. Service, great, but we were pretty much the only ones in there after 7:00. On a Friday. Granted, it’s winter, but still. Now, not so good. They were out of the beer battered cod AND coleslaw. Server said pretty much always out by 7:00. Hmm. If it’s that great, I might stock up. But I digress… The Philly cheese steak was pathetic. Smallish, cheese whiz for cheese… for $ 11. Seriously? Shrimp basket was good, but mostly it was about the fries. If you stick to fries and beer, it’s 4 stars. Just avoid the meals.

We went here for lunch in between wine tastings. We had been told this place had the best fish and chips ever. They weren’t and they were out of fries. The shrimp basket was better. It was good but didn’t live up to best ever!

The Chocolate Imperial Stout was my favorite thing about this place. Big Sampler for 10 bucks and I liked their beer. The food was average but they are kid friendly and provides a break from the wine. We will stop by again when we are back in Prosser.

Just for the record we did not try any beer. We were driving through Prosser on our way to Seattle. I ordered a philly cheesesteak with sweet potato fries and my husband got the classic burger with regular fries. Hands down — the fries were incredible. Everything else? Not so much. The meat on both the philly and the hamburger tasted like a low quality beef. My husbands hamburger actually had a weird smell to it. I usually reserve my three stars for places I didn’t like and would go back to. I would not go back here.
