I called and ordered a figurine for my Mom’s birthday on a Friday and was told it would ship on Monday. After a week went by without receiving it I called. I was then told it hadn’t shipped but would probably ship the next day. When I explained that I had ordered it based on the assurance of a prompt delivery I was told«they just hadn’t gotten to the warehouse.» No apology. With disappointment I cancelled my order since I would not have it in time. Poor business skills and I would not attempt to do business with them again.

If you are looking for Polish pottery, collectibles of absolutely any sort or just neat little things, absolutely be sure to stop by Hoffmans while you’re in Princeton Illinois. I would never dream of visiting Princeton and not stopping in here. To simply go into their basement and look at the quoted 240,000 pieces of China that they have, it’s almost a must see on a bucket list. They ship pieces of China all over the world. The staff could not be friendlier. It’s not just a visit to a store, your sincerely felt welcome and almost like family. A piece of Americana in a charming town, please do yourself and stop in.

This little storefront business has more new collectible gew-gaws than you can imagine, from Swarovski to Christmas ornaments to thimbles to cookie jars. You will either be amazed or horrified depending on your sensibility, or perhaps your gender. But the best is in the basement, where narrow aisles delineate floor to ceiling wooden shelves filled with stacks of odds and ends of thousands of discontinued china and crystal patterns. It is an education just to wander. The store is family run, with long-time knowledgeable and friendly staff. They can help find missing pieces for just about any china, silverware or crystal set.
