I didn’t really have a great experience with Fitzgerald’s. The server couldn’t recommend anything to anyone at our table. When trying to order round two he got one person’s order and never came back so anyone else could order. When he dropped off the drink he was gone before we could stop him. I’m a beer guy, and they had 6 draft handles, but only one craft option. The did have room for both Stella Atrois Cidre and Red’s apple ale. Seriously? I didn’t even think they put those in kegs. I’m not sure why you would use a handle on that. I’m might try again next time I’m around here, but who knows when that would be.

I must have gone here on a bad night after looking at everyone’s five star reviews. Maybe I just have higher expectations coming from living in a swanky neighborhood in Indy known for its bars and bartenders. I will start with this, the cocktails are good. A little on the sweet side, but that’s fine. I came here after dinner and had a chocolate martini, so it was like having dessert. My fellow imbibers ordered an eggnog martini and a craft beer… The eggnog was good, nothing I would want to order, but I wasn’t the one drinking. So let’s go through my list of negatives. Rule number 1-when asked what is good on the menu DONOT tell me everything. That tells me you’re a crappy bartender. I want your professional opinion and you will be rewarded very nicely when you assist in my libation decision. Also, when going for round 2, please don’t walk away after one friend has ordered, come back with her beverage and then walk away without asking us if we had decided… and then ignoring us for the rest of the time. Rude. rude rude. We had to go up to the bar just to get our bill… we would’ve had another round but apparently our bartender didn’t give a crap. I really was excited to see something like this open in Princeton and like I said maybe we came on a bad night … I will go again and hopefully the bartender will actually have experience and be courteous.

Tired of grungy bars? check out Fitzgerald’s and you’ll feel like you’ve gone to another town! The atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. There’s several rooms so there’s lots of privacy, a pool table and usually live music. They don’t server food, besides complimentary popcorn. But they allow outside food and have take menus from nearby restaurants, and most of them deliver. Now lets get to the drinks, I’m originally from St. Louis and there is a bar there famous for it’s martini’s, Fitzgerald’s is on par if not better. The pries are a little higher than the bars around but the quality of the whole establishment are well worth the price. A fabulous way to spend your evening.

I’m visiting from out of town and this place definitely gets an A+ in my book. I love this small town and all its quaintness, but it’s nice to go to Fitzy’s after a long day and experience the more loungey, classy atmosphere. There’s such a large space in the back for larger parties, but upfront you can sit at the bar or in some cozy couches or leather chairs and snuggle up with friends, a boardgame, and a martini. Believe me, these martini prices are CHEAP compared to the rest of the world! I just ask for my specialty martinis without whipped cream and sauces and such, and they have an extensive martini list, as well as a full bar. The bartender, John, who is usually there is very friendly and accomodating to any special order you may have. There is live music, piano in the back, but not now during the slow season.

Fitzgerald’s gets 5 stars just for setting up shop in Princeton. Oh, and for the awesome martini’s. Great addition to this tiny town.

After working at a certain Chicago piano bar that caters mostly to bacherlorette parties Fitzgeralds is a breath of fresh air. The drink prices are expensive for Princeton, IL which means that they are more than reasonable in comparison to everywhere else on earth! There is usually live music and there are always the friendliest faces in Princeton there.
