This newest subsidiary of Suarez International is the latest in a long line of progression in it’s evolution, and a natural outgrowth of one of the most dynamic cutting edge training companies in existence. After spending the better part of a decade in ongoing research and development of a constantly improving curriculum and training methodology for the student of carnage, SI has unveiled a company which will produce weapons that will dramatically enhance the performance of those who find themselves in the crucible of combat. Following the path of experience, both in the arena of bloodletting as well as training, TSD is starting off with a line of proven and ubiquitous weapons platforms such as the Glock handguns, Kalashnikov family of combat rifles, and the venerable Remington 870 shotguns, and are building an assortment of augmentations to increase the ease of use, ergonomics, accuracy and ruggedness without compromising the reliability of the weapon’s sound basic design. As of this review, my sole experience has been with the RMR Red Dot equipped Glock 19 handgun which I had zeroed to co-witness with the iron sights. After a firing a few rounds for basic familiarity and to confirm zero, I was able hit steel silhouette targets at 100 – 150 yards with boring regularity. And did so with a quickness that would be unthinkable with iron sights. And this was accomplished WITHOUT the newer custom made slide packages and barrels which have been manufactured to exacting standards When time allows, I plan to spend a few days and a 1,000 rounds and wring out the untapped potential of this revolutionary quantum leap in combat-centric weaponry. And when the cash flow allows, I will upgrade to the newer generation of TSD slides and match barrels since the notion of having a sidearm which allows one to handle problems from 0 – 5′ CQB all the way out to ranges normally thought of as rifle distances is extremely desirable and, until recently, thought to be fanciful and quixotic. In the future, I intend to upgrade both my rifles and shotguns with TSD treatments and plan to update this review with my findings.
