This place is great! It’s taken me some time to find good restaurants in Prescott/Prescott Valley. The name of this restaurant is misleading for sure. I had no idea they’d have Mexican food. I come from a large city where we are spoiled with great options and this place definitely passes on my list! What stood out to me is how clean this place is. I love that! The staff is also very kind and helpful. Food: I ordered a Carne asada torta. It was delicious! The meat was not just all fat like some places use. I hate that. It was stuffed with delicious avocado, lettuce, sour cream, beans and Mexican cheese. I recommend it! My husband got menudo which was also delicious! They got it right. We took some bread home and it was so good! The donuts are very soft and moist. We also gave some to our neighbors and they loved them! We even went back and got a bag of day-old-donuts and they were still very moist and soft Definitely try this place. Authentic Mexican food and great pastries. Side note: One guy here complains that the«orejas» were very dry and flaky. That’s exactly what orejas are supposed to be so they made them right. I’m not a fan of them but some people love them.

We just moved here from Southern California. With no REAL Mexican food around we’ve been really bummed out. My parents visited while my kids were in the hospital and stopped in for doughnuts. The ones they brought were tasty and the Jelly-filled were filled upon order. My parents noticed the Mexican food and went back the next day for some of the best food around. I don’t know about the consistency of their pastries, but the Mexican food is on point.

Awful! There. I said it. I took some time to think about this before posting a review, because of how shockingly awful the items I bought were. A couple weeks have passed and I am ready to deal with it and put it all behind me. The young woman at the counter was friendly and helpful. I asked for recommendations since I’ve never eaten any of the colorful, beautiful Mexican Pan Dulces I’ve seen for 40-odd years in Arizona.(Yeah, I know. I have no excuse) I asked her for 2 «of the best.» One was a crispy, flakey«Orejas»(Puff Pastry Ears). It had a nice sweet cinnamon flavor, but was so dry and brittle that each bite brought an explosion of Orejas dander that covered beard and shirt. I had to dust off between bites. I’m thinking, «Is that normal? Am I doing something wrong here?.» I just might have one again, but I would break up over the sink first, and dunk it in my coffee before going in for a bite The next was a Marranitos(Molasses Gingerbread Pigs) which is supposed to be a «Moist and rich-tasting beneath a glossy, ever-so-slightly flaky top. Not quite cookie, not quite cake.» But his porcine abomination was as dry, nasty and bitter as the Mojave. I could barely chew and swallow the first bite.(I swear I’m not embellishing here.) I put it on a plate and cut several several small pieces off. Without saying anything, I enlisted my adult daughter and her friends to eat a piece and tell me what they thought. The looks on their faces as they tried to chew filled me with guilt. No one would eat a second piece. I left what was left on the counter uncovered for 3 days. Not even the sugar ants would go near it. Mother Mary and Joseph was that thing bitter. I photographed what was left of the piggy’s body and posted it here before sending him to his final resting place en la basura. And then there were the deceptively beautiful croissants I bought. They were nearly rock hard. At first I thought maybe they just had a crispy firm exterior. Oh no. They were solid. I sliced them clean through with a dull bread knif without one single flake off or dent to the exterior. I don’t think a French baker could make one like that if he tried. They were simply inedible like that. I had to steam them, or use an old line cook’s trick of buttering and flat-griddling them, with a fine spray of water then cover with a dome to make them chewable. The flavor was good. But what flat-griddled in butter isn’t?. And everything was so pricey. I don’t know anything about the food they serve. They had no regular menus or take out menus, just a video screen with food selections. The counters by the cash regiser were stacked with Mexican dulces, and other items that give the feel of mini mart instead of a restaurant. They would not allow me to take pictures inside(I didn’t know of the baked good horrors to come at that point. But now I think I understand.) And lastly, outside on the front wall, right next to the«The Donut Hole» wooden sign, was a GIANT poster of young, tough looking Latino men with a bold caption that reads LIFEAFTERMETH. Oooooo-kay - I you feel this review is Useful, Funny, or Cool, please check the boxes below. Thanks

Another perfectly made chorizo breakfast burrito and the red salsa(spicier) then the green is awesome! Never had their donuts so couldn’t comment on those. Service is very slow though. If you’re thinking of stopping in and getting an order within 15 it won’t happen.

They should change the name of this shop, it’s misleading. We arrived at about 830 on Saturday, no donuts… Whaaat? She said 20 minutes, so we wait. And then when they were ready, she stocked the shelves and I thought we went into the wrong building. I mean a place with such a little variety of donuts cannot call themselves a donut shop, I mean smaller then frys… To top it all off The donuts weren’t that good.

For a place that markets itself as a donut shop, they are terrible. Their donuts are stale and dry. If they want to serve burritos and tortas, perhaps they should change their name instead of piggybacking on the previous owners’ name.

Whomever does not give this place five-stars does not know Mexican food! Tacos are amazing and the homemade donuts melt in your mouth. They are absolutely sinful! It’s a supreme taco shop with amazing dulces.

You call this a donut shop? I call this a rip off. The girl at the counter did not tell us if the donuts were filled or not. The way ordered them she didn’t correct us that they were not filled. $ 13.85 for a dozen unfilled and heavy feeling and day old tasting donuts is a Rip Off. I will definitely not return. Prescott donut factory is much better.

These guys make the best tortas in the Prescott area hands down, which is ironic given the name of the place. I have never had their doughnuts but the meals are authentic and delicious, ya you wouldn’t think they would serve Mexican at the doughnut store but now the secrets out enjoy! Oh ya if your in a hurry call your order in, very small kitchen & prices on the tortas are a little high but worth it IMO

WOW they do make the donuts a day in advance. i will NEVER go there again, and i will tell ALL my friends and some people i dont know. maybee someone will open a good donut shop in p.v. someday…

We came here around 8am on a Saturday morning, yet somehow received a dozen donuts that tasted like they were days old. We chose a couple of each kind available, and didn’t get a SINGLE good one of the whole bunch. We ended up with a box full of donuts with a bite or two taken out of each, and threw the whole lot away. Considering A) we drove to this place from Prescott just to try it and B) it’s only of the only 2 – 3 donut places in the tri-city area at all, we were verrry disappointed.
