Although dangerously addictive, this shop is pretty awesome. I’ve taken several of the classes offered as well, and the instructors have been great: supportive, fun, and helpful, with loads of good advice. Also, having shopped around quite a bit, I find the prices here are very competitive with online stores, and cheaper than that other local place. You know, the one in Dublin. Ahem. No reason to mention any names… On my first visit to PF, I chuckled when I was told they offered a 20% discount on any purchase for each $ 100 spent. I thought the idea that I’d ever spend that much money on jewelry supplies was crazy. HA. I’ve lost track of how many of those discounts I’ve earned and used already.

Stopped here today as I was walking around the pretty part of Powell, and it was a super good choice! I picked up a few odds and ends to mix with some beads I already had. There is a great selection here, from basically every price range, bead material, and bead size. There is currently a 75% off porch sale going on-such a good deal for what I got! People with allergies be warned-there is a store cat, but she is very sweet. She followed me around the store, talking to me: D

This is probably one of the best(and therefore most dangerous) bead shops in all of Ohio. I have gone on and off beading for most of my adult life, getting over excited and spending way more money on beads than I will ever actually use. I’ve made a rule to bring a fairly sensible friend who can stand seeing me in a mode most like a small bear woken up in the middle of a very good dream and still be a friend after it. This means having someone who will stand next to me and remind me that I will never use that and i’m being somewhat delusional to think that I will. The conversation usually goes as such: Sensible friend: «Sara?» Me: «Don’t say it!» Sensible friend: «Put it back.» Me: «NO!» Sensible friend: «You’ll never use it.» Me: «But… it’s so pretttyyyyy» Sensible Friend: «Sara…» Me: «Hmmph. Meanie.» (This conversation also tends to happen when looking at shoes… where I usually find the most gorgeous extravagant incredible pair that will never match anything that I could possibly wear.) To clarify… be ready to spend a few hours and end up buying more than you anticipated but coming out with some of the most gorgeous and unique supplies imaginable. Where Byzantium is dark and exotic, Pink Flamingo is bright and varied. They’re both excellent in their own way, and going back and forth is a delightful change of pace. They’ve got excellent classes(and you can set up parties with them) with a private room. They have a room completely dedicated to charms, a room where the walls are literally covered in seed beads, a room where the walls are covered in supplies of every metal, and a large upstairs room sorted by color that is just jaw dropping when you walk in. Say hi to the kitty, she’s sleepy and sweet.
