I was here for a take out– a combo plate and chicken Biriyani. The combo plate is good(+1 star) but the Chicken Biryani is rip off and false advertising(–3 stars) it doesn’t match the picture from their own menu or its description. The staff was friendly but not helpful when I asked them about this fake Biriyani and their manager doesn’t pick up calls(–1 star). Chicken Biryani is slow cooked meat with spice mixed in Rice with yogurt on the side; not a large portion of white rice with side of chicken curry and mixed curry rice and with no yogurt. Please fix your menu because it’s unfair that you’re charging $ 13 for this plate. It’s shame that they get to do this to people who don’t know what to expect from an Indian restaurant.

Was in the area and decided to try something new for dinner. Minus one star because the cashier had no idea what he was doing. Minus a second star because I noticed him being rude to the kitchen staff(unprofessional and awkward). Minus the third star because I asked for some sugar for my chai tea and he never brought it for me. Minus a fourth star because the order took a long time(I thought it was fast food?) and they forgot the raita(yogurt sauce). This place only gets one star because the food was actually decent and parking was easy on a Saturday night. Will I be back? Nope. With all the options for great Indian food(at a better price), it just isn’t worth it. If you don’t mind poor service, spending more than you should for«fast food,» and waiting a long time for decent Indian food, check this place out. Just make sure you check your order before you leave if you order take-out. The sad part is, this place could be pretty great if management was better. Oh well.

Quiet atmosphere. Samples given if asked. Excellent food. Great for vegetarians and gluten-free folks. I wish this chain was in Colorado!

Great food, friendly service, and comfortable vibe! Definitely going back. *Delicious lamb curry Little water in the bottom of the bowl and the curry could use some heat variability. Personally, I would prefer more while my friend wanted less. The side sauces are great and I highly recommend their naan bread.

Fast Cheap Friendly service Food… Well I ate it. I won’t go back. Major issue, they don’t have a tandoori oven. They’re food lacks this major component. Sub par Indian food.

I really like this place. I get its a chain, but there’s a new owner and they are REALLY trying to get new stuff on the menu. Angelo was an ‘angel’ and let me sample the new Matar Paneer. If I could add anything it would be to have a garlic option(or at least seasoning) to the Wheat Roth. Bland! Delish! Don’t be afraid. Try this for lunch. Super reasonable and the music is hip. Not a rusty, outdated lunch spot.

Love this place and food! I’m a regular customer and have been coming back for the good flavorful food. Everything seems fresh and doesn’t feel like it’s full of cream or color like other restaurants do to enrich their food texture and taste. The ambience is also good and there is plenty of comfortable seating. Overall best Indian food in the vicinity of Poway and Scripps ranch area…

Mildly reminiscent of real Indian. My hubby’s dish was so spicy he couldn’t eat it, and he loves spice, AND they didn’t ask about the spice level so this was the default?! Won’t be back.

I was thinking this was gonna be a good alternative to driving out of my way to the place we usually go. No. I was wrong to think it’s a «good» alternative. The Tikka Masala was on a bed of rice(did not taste like basmati) that was swimming in a pool of water. No thanks. There are no heat levels for the spice, so it’s not kid friendly, IMO. My child likes his mild. This was hotter than that. I like the heat, but some people don’t, so be warned. The garlic na’an was bland. I shudder to think what their plain na’an tastes like. Their raita, which they spell differently on the menu was good. That’s where they get the 2nd star. Otherwise, this would be a one-star place. Sad they’re getting off on the wrong foot. A/C was broken today. And although we don’t drink soda, especially from a fountain, the guy said they did finally get carbonation for their drinks. But I wouldn’t know for sure. I think I’ll skip the convenience of a closer Indian food place and continue to go to the 3x more expensive place I usually go that’s out of the way. =\

The staff here is super friendly and keep the place very clean. They will often offer you tasters, and if there aren’t any setting out, don’t be afraid to ask if you’re unsure about a dish. The prices here are pretty good; there’s a good lunch special for bowl + naan + drink for $ 7.99. The naan and the samosas here are really good(my favorite). I do agree that the food here isn’t exactly authentic, but that doesn’t mean that it’s bad! It’s a bit milder and doesn’t have as strong of a curry flavor as typical Indian food, but tell you what, it’s still pretty good. Think of it as Americanized Indian fast food. If you’re looking for super authentic Indian food, this isn’t the place for you and you will be disappointed. If you’re just looking for a quick lunch/dinner spot with good food, then it is worth checking out.

The mango lassis are delicious! This is a great place and would be five stars IF you could adjust the spice level. Unfortunately the spice level is set and if you are like me and don’t enjoy eating fire then you are SOL. I usually have to eat lots of naan and drink lots of water to compensate. The family meal deal is awesome and for my husband and I it lasts all week as left overs.

First off this place is closer to a 4 star than a three. It’s a small place in a StaterBros strip mall with Plenty of parking. The name says it all. Fresh and Fast. Just needs Tasty in there to Top it all off. The place was nice and clean with a fair amount of seating inside and out. The guy behind the counter was very nice and offered us samples of the different dishes so we could taste the flavor of each before we decided which ones we wanted to have for lunch. How Cool Is That? Just Ask. We tried several and found all of them to be very tasty. The chicken curry dish had a bit of spice to it but just enough heat to make it tasty and not kill your taste buds. The menu here is limited to perhaps 10 or 12 dishes. After we ordered food and came very quickly. Nice if you’re in a hurry or even if you’re not. The food was very good service was great and Jan and I will dine here again. Enjoy

I’m lucky enough to have an Indian friend who makes awesome Channa Masala. Unfortunately, she doesn’t make it often enough so when I’m craving Indian dishes, I come to Kasi. I also come to Kasi because I’m kind of afraid to venture into more authentic Indian establishments. Kasi according to my Indian friend is «Americanized Indian» food. I’m ok with that. The Channa Masala is good but doesn’t have the depth of flavor of a more authentic dish. It’s pretty mild, I actually wish it was spicier. The Chicken Curry is more flavorful and is made with chicken breast, a plus. The Naan bread is delicious. I prefer plain but they also have garlic Naan. They have a lunch special. Any item on rice, Naan bread, and a drink for about $ 8.00. Good deal. The restaurant is clean and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

The place is nice and clean and the staff very friendly and professional BUT the food? Not so good sadly. The chicken undoubtedly was from the night before as well as the paneer cheese. So no truth in advertising. Kasi is fast Indian but not fast FRESH Indian. The naan bread was outstanding though. Both regular and garlic.

I tried, I really, really tried. it’s tough to make a ethnic, chain restaurant especially when it’s Indian food it appears. Food is bland and for some reason even the rice didn’t taste right. How can you get basmati rice wrong??? Chicken masala just didn’t have the right combination of spices and it just didn’t feel right being there. The place was really clean though and nice set of tables and chairs, but for some reason I need my fast food Indian places to be a bit more rustic with character. Not some big run of the mill chain.

This place is kinda like an Indian Chipotle… you order at the counter from a big, bright menu and then find a place to eat amongst the simple tables. And like Chipotle, it’s not cheap fast food, but it’s also not rubbish. I have mixed feelings because I probably wouldn’t go there for a regular Indian meal, plus I felt their regular prices were a tad high for going there casually. But they do offer lunch specials that include naan and a drink, which are reasonable and compete well with other fast casual joints. I might have given it another star if not for the fact that all of their food is missing heat. They are first to admit this, as they apparently want to appeal to the bland tastebuds of Poway. And they don’t give you the opportunity to kick things up with any type of condiments/sides. In short, this is mild Indian fare aimed at suburban gringo families. I can appreciate that, but think they could also offer some options for those of us who like some fireworks in our food.
