People wondered why I would bring my own cupcakes for my birthday. It’s because no other cupcake will do. I told them that it was my 40th and to celebrate that I felt it was my gift to all my friends to share with them my wisdom about the BESTCUPCAKESEVER! I special ordered 4 dozen mini cupcakes. 4 flavors total. Not one person was disappointed. They couldn’t get over the silk-like frosting and the über-moist cake. These cupcakes are amazing!

I hardly ever write reviews but felt this place was definitely worthy! Went in to get a few birthday cupcakes for one of my girlfriends and was impressed just from the presentation of the cupcakes alone. Even if they tasted awful they looked amazing! Got a couple extra for me and the hubby(salty and sweet) … OMG they were just as delicious as they looked! I was impressed. I’ve never understood all the hype over Sprinkles cupcakes. if they taste like these it would make total sense. This place blows sprinkles out of the water! I definitely recommend you check them out … you will not be disappointed.

Made it back to this place, and alas, it was open. Yay! They got cupcake boxes! No more cupcake disasters. Sweet and salty: had to get this one again, despite the not so great first impression, and I gotta say, I’m really liking this one. This time, just the right amount of salty paired with the light, sweet frosting. Delish. Other flavors we took home were chocolate peanut butter, vanilla, coconut, and chocolate macadamia nut. All were moist and delicious. So glad this place is doing well.

Best cupcakes ever. Family run business by this cute family who you can see there on the weekends. This is my most favorite cupcake place. Lots of love in each of these cupcakes and the flavors are AMAZING. I’ve tried tons of places including, Sprinkles, Babycakes, Crumbs, etc — but this one is so good and tastes very homemade. Tiny little place next to Target shopping center off Pomerado. I try to go here every bday and celebration just to have an excuse to go buy a dozen.

D — E — L — I — C — I — O — U — S I haven’t tasted a cupcake that I did not enjoy from here. Simply put, if you’ve got a sweet tooth, you should stop by here.

I love LOVE love their marscapone frosting!!! It tastes best on the Sweet and Salty. I have tried the other flavors, but have finally realized that that is thee best one there. I will every now and then try another cupcake flavor that has the same frosting because I truly love it! I know that CB’s cupcakes does frosting shots, but they should stop and just let Cupcakes & Beyond do it. One thing that I do not particularly care for is that they refrigerate the cupcakes. I prefer my cupcakes room temperature so I do have to wait a bit before I can enjoy them, unless of course there is one or two out on the display. In hindsight, the service has always been good to me. I am always all for supporting a nice family run business. You should definitely go to their website as they do have a discount coupon. I usually go ahead and pay for it online. I used to print the invoice, but the daughter said I could just show it on my phone. Sweeeeet!

Sweet husband/wife owners. Love their regular sized, moist as hell cupcakes. My favorite is their special banana crème one and their red velvet one. You have to call in and reserve the cupcakes you want or place your order for the type you are looking for because they always run out at the end of the day. Great local small business. Go visit and support. Thanks!

I love cupcakes so I was excited to try a new cupcake place! I had the vanilla and birthday surprise. The vanilla was very good. The birthday surprise I found just ok. The frosting was just ok. I like these cupcakes better than grocery store ones but I prefer VG Donuts and Coronado Cupcakery.

I had a work event on Thursday and was hitting up the local target for some supplies ran into Cupcakes & Beyond at 10 pm the night before our big event. I had a hard time loading pictures of the cupcakes on their website… www.cupcakesnbeyond.com for some odd reason, the website isn’t too user friendly but I was able to email and place an order at midnight and I also called at 8 am and the owner had just got in. He reviewed my order and with confidence he stated he could in fact get 4 dozen mini cupcakes done by 11 am, at time of open for me that day. I was impressed. This is all going off of NEVER trying their cupcakes before. Let me just start off by saying I was nervous but they looked so beautiful, hand decorated with pink candy beads(called the sweet16) so elegant that even if they didn’t taste good, I knew they still looked good! The cupcakes were a hit for our event. The crème was so so yummy… not too rich either. Absolutely perfect! Everyone stated that there the«best cupcakes they had ever tried!!» PHEW! Mini’s are $ 18 for a dozen and are a bit pricey but they are processed with care. The store is family owned and the owner is a pleasure to work with. The daughter is very pleasant as well. I wish this family the best with their success of their new store and they will go far with this business! The cupcakes were beautiful both inside and out. THANKYOUCUPCAKES&BEYOND!

I was in the area so I decided to stop by here and grab a few cupcakes. This is a small shop. I like it’s a family business. The kid in the front called out for his mom when I walked in. There were minimal cupcakes on display. I wish they had a larger case to display cupcakes in. The cupcakes were okay. Not too sweet. I loved the frosting and extra filling in the cupcakes. Frosting was light which was good. My favorite was the rasberry tiramisu. I didn’t care much for the cookies and cream. Definitely will try other flavors in the future.

The cupcakes are so good at this bakery, I just had to write a review! The more popular cupcake bakeries like Sprinkles and Heavenly Cupcakes really don’t have anything on these cupcakes. What they lack in a fancy storefront, they definitely make up in AMAZING cupcakes. Since I first stumbled upon this place(like 2 wks ago), I have probably tried over a dozen different flavors already. EVERY. SINGLE. CUPCAKE I have tried have been absolutely delicious. Some flavors are really unique, but very distinguishable which is a definite plus. The cake is not only SUPER moist, but it’s consistently moist… I haven’t had a dry cupcake yet. The frosting is perfect! They put the perfect amount on their cupcakes and it’s not overly sweet or sugar-y. So far, my personal favorite is the limoncello. You will not find a more lemon-y cupcake than this one. The banana-caramel one(I forgot the name) is also very delicious as is the classic red velvet. One bonus: like a previous reviewer mentioned. it’s a family run shop. I spoke to the owner/baker and he was really nice! A tip: Usually I go late in the day after work, so the cake stands are pretty bare. If there is a sign posted with a flavor, but no cupcakes in front, they have them available in the back so you can ask for them! Also, they sell a dozen mini cupcake assortment for $ 18! Unless they always just have them in the morning and they are sold out by evening, I think you have to pre-order it because I have never seen them readily available by the time I get there. Long story short… try these cupcakes!

Very small shop conveniently located right by Target. Looks like a family owned shop with the parents making the cupcakes in the back kitchen and the daughter running the cash register. I got a variety of the cupcakes but from their website it looks like there are a ton of options which vary day by day. I must have gone at a bad time because there were only about seven choices. My favs were the chocolate lava and the chocolate raspberry. I like the cupcakes, but not sure if they are worth the $. Thankfully I had a deal voucher from Living Social for 6 cupcakes for $ 8 because the prices look expensive at $ 2.75 per. They give you a box to go but beware — keep ahold of your cupcake on the drive because I had icing all overt box when I got home! I may go back someday to try out new flavors.

Honesty I’m so surprised to see all the great reviews. Not that the cupcake wasn’t good(chocolate raspberry with raspberry cream on top), it just tasted like I grabbed a Duncan Hines chocolate cake mix, threw in some raspberries, and made some kind of pre-made frosting, and decorated it really nice. That’s all. Nothing blew my mind away. Also, there is NO Tea or Coffee here, so it’s under the wrong category. $ 2.75 is kind of pricey for a tiny cupcake.

Used Unilocal to find an idea for a desert to take to a party. Came across the reviews for Cupcakes & Beyond and am super happy I did. I stopped in bought ½ dozen assorted. The cupcakes were a hit! They were moist, not too sweet or rich, super yummy! Hands down the red velvet was my favorite and the best I ever had! Highly recommend. Added bonus was this is a little family run shop. They were very helpful and super nice. I love being able to support a local business.

After coming here again I realized I need to update and say a few things about the store. Before I stated that I wished they would sell smaller cupcakes. When I came in I saw that they were in fact selling small cupcakes in sets of 16 as sampler sizes, which makes me happy. I also talked with the(owner?) for a bit realized that because this was a new store it was in a state of transition and they are still working out the kinks of their operation. They are only realizing how much they have to prepare for their cupcakes on certain days and hope to no longer run out of cupcakes again(which was what happened the first time I came here). Most of all though, I am seriously realizing how much love is put into the cupcakes. Whenever I ask about a cupcake the owner gets this glint of happiness in his eyes and gives me rich, mouthwatering descriptions of each cupcakes. I now know that a lot of the cupcakes are made with ingredients such as English curd, mascarpone cheese, and liqueur, which would explain why the frosting is always so delicious and never tastes plastic. These are some of the best cupcakes I have ever had and it definitely shows. Though they don’t advertise this in store, they also do birthday and wedding orders, so definitely check those out.

So on Friday, after dinner we finally made it to this place. I had been wanting to get here for the past three months since I spotted it in the corner next to Cold Stone Creamery but for some reason or another we always ended up here after 8pm when it shuts. We were walking in and a guy was walking out, he jokingly said not to go in there because they were horrible. I was hoping he was joking(but turns out it was definitely a joke). There was not a huge amount of cupcakes out, but then it was not too long til they closed. I chose the Chocaholic, after all I am a chocoholic by nature. Hubby went for a Mangolicious. The first thing I was surprised about was the price. They were only 3 dollars each. I considered this a bargain given the size. The cupcakes are beautifully decorated, though this is not always a sign that they will be as nice to eat. I bit into it and it was delicious. It was moist and full of flavour. I most definitely will be returning. My only regret is that I only had the one. I should have bought more. Though my waistline would not agree! I was too interested in my cupcake to have a care as to whether hubby liked his ;)

Sprinkles knows nothing about cupcakes compared to this place. The tiramisu is to die for!

Their cupcakes are wonderful, but their prices, Och! They are $ 3 each, a half dozen is $ 17 and a full dozen is $ 34– wow! They have only been in business three weeks, so I’m hoping it will come down a little as they pick up clientele– did talk with my cashier and he said they planned on doing specials and minis.

It says a lot that this is the place that made me make a Unilocal account. My fiancé and I went there feeling like we should treat ourselves. We got the Sweet and Salty Chocolate and Carmel one. AMAZING. We are getting married next week and after tasting that cupcake, my fiancé was upset that we had already ordered a wedding cake. Needless to say, these cupcakes will be her birthday cake later this month. The thing about these cupcakes is, for us at least, we don’t like the classic American cake you could find at any corner bakery, restaurant, grocery store. etc. We both loved the cake we would find when we lived in Japan. This was because there was a low amount of sugar and more of a subtle sugar taste but full experience of all the other ingredients. In this cupcake we got for example, the butter cream was amazing, the chocolate was rich, the caramel was soft and succulent, and the cake itself was sweet, light, moist, and produced a pleasantly sweet flavor, not an overpowering amount of sugar. No matter where we go in the San Diego area, we can’t find any cake(cupcake in this case) that we can enjoy without feeling like we are eating a baked sugar cube. I will be back again and again. These cupcakes are unique and Amazing.
