This time almost last year I unwittingly purchased an expired Bolthouse Farms protein shake from this Safeway and it made me soooooo very, very sick. So sick. But I went about my life shopping here thinking it was a fluke. Yesterday, I was picking up breakfast and my lunch and grabbed for the same protein shake. The entire first row of product was expired. Mildly annoyed, I sent my husband a picture and we laughed about it. I grabbed from a few rows back, not expired, and moved on to grab a bag of raw pistachios and almonds and a salad. Opened my snack and thought they smelled a little funny. Read the back of the package… Two months expired. REALLY Safeway? Really. Incensed, I wrote corporate an email that they stockers needed more training, as I have never had this issue at other grocery providers. Their response? Well, just bring it back. Yeah, not my job! And I shouldn’t have to thoroughly inspect every item of food I purchase to be sure it’s not expired! This is not Big Lots or the 99 cent store! I am over it. Now I finally understand why people shop at Central Market for more than their prepared foods section. It’s more expensive, but at least it’s not expired.

I like this Safeway– it’s new and clean. Friendly staff, good prices. I do just about all my grocery shopping here. I like that they have parking underground as well. Occasionally things are out of stock and stay out for a while so I am knocking off a star.

Really annoyed they require q club card to get monopoly tickets I don’t see the requirement on any displays or materials. I think it’s false advertisement and not ethical. So annoyed! Really makes me dislike Safeway in general!

This is a terrific, new Safeway. Lovely produce, pharmacy has its own waiting room, the sushi chef is fabulous, as is Eric the wine sommelier(yes, Safeway has a wine sommelier!) who is incredibly knowledgeable about wine if you need suggestions. Speaking of the wine, they have a terrific selection and the prices are good. I honestly never thought I’d be going to a Safeway to quickly pick up sushi for lunch(and like it) or a bottle(or two) of wine for dinner, but that’s what I do at this one. The underground parking when it rains is also a big plus.

MOST unfriendly workers in any grocery store! Husband said hello to checker… no response… husband spoke again… checker finally acknowledged us… husband asked why the checker doesn’t speak… checker said he doesn’t have much to say. I bet he had lots to say AND a nice personality when he was hired… AND when he gets his paycheck. This was our third and hopefully final time of ever coming her to shop. Now… I pointed out the checker but basically same thing happened with TWO other workers…

We came here on the morning of our wedding to grab the last of the booze we needed and completely forgot we still needed to buy cheese for the appetizers. We were stressed out and didn’t have time to slice all the cheeses, we then went to the deli where Nina was working and she was our hero!!! She suggested all types of cheeses for us and she cubed them!!! We never knew they could do that! She was super friendly and amazing! If you ever shop there drop by and say hi to Nina at the deli, she is great!

FLORAL — Jennifer in the floral department did the flowers for my daughters wedding and they were perfect. We showed her a picture of what we wanted and she ordered the flowers she needed and created exactly what we had envisioned. The quality of the flowers was great, the designs exquisite and the cost was less than half that of a Florist!

Jennifer in the floral department was incredible! She helped me find exactly what I was looking for and more. I didn’t have to wait at all either, some grocery markets’ floral departments aren’t staffed and that can be really frustrating. Jennifer was right there asking how she could help… Thank you!!!

While we are all used to the quality of central market, the prices are way too high for many of us, so I find that starting with Safeway and finishing up at central mkt for a couple specialized items works best for us. What I love about this Safeway, #1, covered parking, #2 gas on sight, and a discount according to the amount purchased, #3 the marvelous bakery,(salted caramel sandies), #4 great variety and quality, and last but not least, #5 the great sale they have on their meat when it gets close to the sell by date. A lot of us retirees have discovered the 30% to 50% off markdowns and start our shopping there in the morning! We find a great bargain or two! then build our meal around that! Welcome to the neighborhood, Safeway! Glad you are here!

Convenient location coming from the Seattle/Bainbridge Island ferry(or a backtrack from Edmonds/Kingston ferry) for any forgotten grocery items or a gas fill up. Amazing layout and friendly checkout staff. I mentioned that makes my revamped Safeway in Shoreline look so ghetto. Bainbridge Island, Kingston, and Poulsbo area sure has grown in population if it can support this Safeway, Central Market and WalMart!

My first trip to this new Safeway left me not wanting to return anytime soon. I came here specifically to use a coupon, and for a half case discount on champagne for my niece’s wedding. I wanted help for suggestions on a slightly sweeter sparkling wine and asked a nearby employee to please call someone who worked this area. After waiting several minutes I then asked her again and, after waiting some time longer, gave up on getting champagne and left to purchase 4 or 5 items. One express lane had a customer with multiple purchased, filled bags and the conveyor belt still full of her groceries. The next door«express» lane wasn’t much better. Now, I know, and am fine with express lanes allowing a few more than the 15 or 20 item limit, but this was not the case with either lane. I asked one of the express clerks to confirm these were express lanes, she replied yes and told me to «go(over) there» to self check-out. I did just that and, normally that’s OK but I had fruit items, was in something of a hurry, and had fruit to buy which involved checking fruit codes and weighing and already I’d spent a lot more time in the store than I had planned on. Another observation is that their produce prices are not that competitive, and their sushi was not up to the level of Central Market’s. I’ll stick to Central for a variety of reasons, including that they have paid, human clerks, not machines taking jobs away from people, and the most stellar customer service in the business.

All staff is so friendly and helpful. I just hope the courteousness continues for the long haul. Nice meat and produce department. Comfortable seating area to enjoy some coffee or lunch with big windows and a fireplace. Overall pretty sweet!

It’s Safeway; not too much to rave about. All of the staff was friendly… I don’t think I’ve ever been asked if I needed anything more often! Opening just down the street from Central Market, I was thinking they would have a better beer selection, but it’s just average at best. Parking was a nightmare but only because it was the Grand Opening; I suspect it won’t be an issue once the hype dies down. It’s nice to have the Safeway gas station now… I think they usually have slightly lower prices with their free membership. Oh and now I have a Starbucks an whole 0.25 miles closer… yippee!
