This is our first time coming to this dog park, it’s a little hard to find but once you do find it its pretty nice. They have picnic tables and a large amount of space for the dogs to run around. The only thing is there is no water supplied there and we noticed right outside the fenced area is a creek full of dead fish but it might’ve been from the winter. I look forward to returning soon.

See Spot Run dog park is on Overlook Rd. If you are coming from route 55, it is on the left. When you pull in, you drive past the sports fields and park in the back parking lot. The park is to the right of the lot. The Overlook park is on a pretty large piece of fenced-in land, with a gated area for leash removal. The park has some small trees, as well as a pavilion with 2 picnic tables. The pavilion is a relief both on rainy days and on very sunny days. There are several water dishes that get filled by the dog owners, who usually bring enough water to fill a couple of them up. The only reason the park doesn’t get a five star rating from me is that there is not a water fountain. Sometimes people leave behind their water bottles, which creates a mess, and sometimes the water bowls look kind of gross, like they haven’t been rinsed out in a while. In general, the people and dogs at this park are nice, responsible, and laid back. Most people are great about watching their dogs, picking up the poop, and intervening when a dog gets uncomfortable. A wide variety of breeds, both large and small, come to the park. There is not a separate park for small dogs, although there is some talk of the town creating one. There are times when you come and the park is empty, and times when there can be upwards of 18 dogs there. It is on these full days when everyone has to be extra vigilant of situations escalating quickly, although this rarely happens. If your dog likes to swim, there is a path that leads back to the Wappingers Creek. This is not a part of the park, so dogs can swim there at their own risk. This year the park has started requiring dogs to have a special tag, which you purchase at the Lagrange town hall. No one has ever come to the park while I’ve been there to check for tags though, so if you’d just like to check it out and see how your dog likes it, I would say go for it!
