Panda Heaven Chinese Restaurant

Was good for a long time. Then one day a few years ago they switched out their whole wait staff and everything changed. The service was really terrible… was actually rude and inattentive and the spicy tuna rolls were too hot. Other dishes lacked as well. So then we yried again almost a year later… still not good. Then we tried again. and again. After three times, we just went elsewhere. We kept trying as they were seriously phenomenal at one point. Was a shame. Still hope they turn around

I’m not sure what is going on at Panda Heaven but the food has gone downhill. We used to regularly order from here but the last few times have been a pretty unsavory experience. On a Thursday night the waitress made our sushi… she clearly was not a sushi chef. Some of the fish tasted old and a few tasted mealy as if ithad been frozen. The Chinese wasn’t much better– too salty, no sense that it was fresh and way too much sauce. The portions were also less than normal. Very disappointing as this was our local go-​to.

This is a great local Chinese restaurant, they make great food, they do it very well, and for a great price. Try them out, you won’t be disappointed. They even helped jump start my car, when it wouldn’t start last time I was there. Great service!

I absolutely love Panda Heaven, if nothing else for its convenience and reliability. Panda Heaven has been around since as long as I can remember. I believe it opened along with the North Coventry strip mall where it is located (or very shortly thereafter) in the late eighties. About four years ago, Panda Heaven expanded and got a face lift to include a sushi bar and a «real» bar, and the dining area was majorly improved.
Panda Heaven isn’t extraordinary, but the prices are great, and it is definitely a cut above what you can expect from other Chinese/​Japanese take-​out places in old suburban shopping centers. The dining area is fairly small, but well-​kept, and like I mentioned it is complete with a bar. (Not a huge bar, and don’t expect any fancy schmancy Martinis here, but it’s a bar nonetheless.) My family and I have taken out here at least 80+ times since I was a small kid (although I can probably count on one hand the number I’ve times I’ve actually eaten at the restaurant), and they rarely mess up an order. No matter what time of day you call, or what day of the week, your meal will be ready in «fifteen minute.»
The sushi here is pretty good, too. Once again, nothing that will blow your mind, but for a place that does take-​out in a small town that is somewhat off the beaten path, (located just off route 100 on 724 going towards Birdsboro in the general area of the Coventry Mall) it is surprisingly fresh and tasty. I wouldn’t recommend anyone going out of their way for Panda Heaven, but if you live in North Coventry Township, this IS the place to go to satisfy your Chinese food or sushi craving!
One of my favorite dishes at Panda Heaven is a mixed chicken and vegetable dish called Happy Family. A suiting name, because my family has always been happy with Panda Heaven and we have been loyal customers for over a decade.
